Shibukawa Hotels with Breakfast

A very local hotel popular among the local business travellers. I was there to explore Gunma mountains and this is one of the best western style hotel I can find that is close to train station. I do have to say the hotel is very old but everything still good for me. The single room is small but it has everything I need. Their 8 floor dining area for breakfast was so awesome as you have a wide view of the town and mountains around it. Breakfast is acceptable and I don’t have any complaints about it. What I like a lot is that they also provide free curry rice every weekdays excerpt weekend and public holiday. Although the curry rice is very simple without any meat, but it was so comforting to eat it. There’s also an onsen that you can use it, and a common room with comics, massage chairs and old school computer to use.

The self lounge at the corner of the lobby is good. Since it is a free drink except for night ～ early morning, I am glad to use it before and after check-in out, of course, after the morning bath. You can relax while watching the garden. Because it is winter, I didn't go out, but I saw foot bath? I want to go out next time because I saw something like it. The room is clean. It is especially convenient that there was a bath towel size pole in the bathroom. The side of the washbasin is also a paper towel and ⚪ as a corona countermeasure, but it is regrettable that the toilet was an ordinary towel. I am excited to pass through the tatami corridor to the hot spring. There is also a rest corner at the entrance of the tatami corridor and on the way, and it is safe to climb. There were several baths, and I liked to enter the steam negative ion state on the back side of the waterfall. I had a Viking in the morning and evening. There is no big feature, and there is no super delicious as it jumps up if there is no unpleasant thing, and there is a corner that can be made in the live kitchen even in ＝, and tension rises. The cake is exactly the same as the restaurant in the shopping mall, but I enjoyed it comfortably as a whole. There are not many parking lots, and if you are full, you will move to another place. The parking lot on the premises is narrow, so be careful of large cars.

There is a parking lot right in front of the hotel. There are some souvenirs on the first floor for guests to choose and buy. The price is moderate-the whole hotel is very quiet. There is an observation deck on the top floor, and there are places to eat and drink. It is above the housing floor, the housing is on the middle floor, and the hot spring is under the housing floor.

I can see that it is a historical hotel. Because it is a Saturday relationship, the unit price I booked is a bit high, but compared to the hotel in Tokyo, I am relieved. This hot spring hotel is all-Japanese, breakfast and dinner are all, if you want to drink coffee, there is a vending machine, The room and the hot spring feel that there is a new finishing, only the hall has traces of history.

The building itself certainly looks like Taisho, but it's a pity that it's not maintained. I stayed in a room called [Omatsu], but overall it was a little dirty and more than 10 shoji were torn. 90% of the employees are foreigners, and although I am doing my best, I often couldn't communicate well. This has to be crushed one by one and explained, which is troublesome. The foreign staff explained something at the time of the meal, but I didn't know what I was saying at all. I think the person who is saying also understands the content and doesn't talk. The room was cold and I had you prepare an oil fan heater, but there was little kerosene and I felt very cold at midnight. I hope you don't get stingy in a place that can't be helped. Overall, it was a subtle inn with a lack of hospitality, just because the building has a history. I think Ikaho's golden hot spring itself is a wonderful hot spring, so I recommend other inns.

Location is about half way up the Ikaho Stairs, only a 3-minute walk. The Onsen was quite large, with an outdoor bath overlooking the area. The waters are clear but when they touch oxygen they turn a golden color, rich in iron with those health properties. There is also another outdoor bath, and one large indoor-bath with hot springs water flowing down the rocks. Very calming. Men and women alternate sides at midnight so don't miss one of the baths. We had a really nice room on the 8th Floor with Western-style beds, very large entry way, a Tatami room with a splendid view of the Akakgi Renzan mountains. The Biggest surprize: the room had a complete cha****su- Japanese room for serving tea, complete with its own tokonoma, water server in the tatami, and an entrance that is only a meter high (sit on your knees and slide through). If you request it, they could arrange a little ceremony for you! Pick up some of their Daruma senbei cookies for a great present. To be honest, the outside is pretty shabby, when we drove up I said, ”What have I gotten us into?” Inside is very clean and new for a hotel built in 1868!

The correct name of the hotel is Matsumoto Tower. The service of a family-run Japanese-style hotel must be impeccable. Each room has a dedicated receptionist. We are not good at Japanese, so we arranged an Indian waiter who understands some English (it seems Family-run Japanese-style hotels are gradually becoming international). The tatami room arranged for us is super large. There are two main halls and three toilets of 70 or 80 square meters. There is no problem for eight people; one night and two meals are exquisite. Dinner is kaiseki cuisine, breakfast is Japanese buffet; there are open-air natural hot springs (iron brown hot springs) on the 8th and 2nd floors of the roof. The bubbles before and after meals are very comfortable. The hotel has a free bus to Ikaho Hot Spring Ishidan Street (Matsumoto The lady enthusiastically recommended us to ride, and his English is good); in short, a very good experience.
