"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

"The hotel's location is excellent, less than a 10-minute walk to the main attractions. The hotel itself has a serene atmosphere, with a beautiful Jiangnan garden-style setting. You could easily spend a comfortable and peaceful day just relaxing in the courtyard with a cup of tea, without even needing to visit the sights. The cleanliness standards are on par with a five-star hotel, and they thoughtfully provide two types of slippers. The service is very attentive; they offer shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and are both welcoming and discreet. The front desk lady was especially kind, giving detailed directions."

"For my 2-day, 1-night trip to Hongcun, I chose Xiyunpan Yue, which is perfectly situated in the core of Hongcun, right on the bank of Moon Pond. This hotel is right next to Moon Pond, so you can step out and enjoy its beauty at any time. I found myself coming out every hour because the scenery changed continuously with the different times of day and weather. During my two days in Hongcun, I was lucky enough to have fantastic weather – clear blue skies, white clouds, and stunning reflections on the lake. Everything was so beautiful, and every photo I took looked like it belonged in a magazine. So, a tip for everyone: be sure to check the weather forecast before you go. Hongcun's scenery is gorgeous, and the hotel was excellent; everything was just perfect. The hotel staff even arranged pick-up and drop-off at the West Gate, so you can book with confidence!"

"I wanted to stay inside Hongcun for convenience, and also find a place with a good location that was clean and hygienic. After a long search, I picked this one. The location is excellent and not noisy at all. We arrived in the evening, and a staff member from the guesthouse was waiting for us at the ticket office, even helping us with our luggage. The room conditions were exactly as shown in the pictures – all very good. The toothbrushes were particularly nice, high quality, not the usual disposable kind. The room itself was very clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. Just a short walk from the guesthouse is Nanhu Lake, and the South Gate is right nearby. There's also a restaurant which serves delicious food, better than other places."

"As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner recognized me. Yes, I was the tourist who bought the Hongcun ticket just for the B&B. The owner even mistakenly thought I was from Hong Kong, haha! However, this trip to Hongcun really exceeded my expectations. Different from the online comments on Hongcun's commercial tourism, I personally think that Hongcun is a place worth slowly immersing yourself in and experiencing quietly. When it comes to accommodation, the proprietress is really a very meticulous person. She is almost demanding in her hygiene requirements and will double check every sanitary blind spot. I was also very moved by her entrepreneurial story. Seeing her constantly learning and improving herself (including emotional management, communication skills, and even learning live streaming), I could deeply feel her enthusiasm and dedication to providing thoughtful service to every guest. Speaking of food, the proprietress’s cooking skills are also amazing, especially her stinky mandarin fish, chestnut chicken and hairy tofu, each of which makes people unable to help but praise it! These authentic delicacies will definitely be unforgettable once you have tasted them. In addition, the service provided by the boss and his wife was also touching. The boss personally took me to the express delivery point to send the express, and the boss's wife personally accompanied us to take the bus and helped us with our luggage. The service was meticulous and full of emotional value, making this trip more enjoyable. Overall, this trip was not just a visit to the attractions, but also a warm homestay experience. I sincerely thank the proprietress and the boss. Next time I come to Hongcun, I will definitely stay here again!"

"The B&B is divided into Courtyard 1 and Courtyard 2. Courtyard 1 is older and Courtyard 2 is newer. Courtyard 1 and Courtyard 2 are not together. If you want to go to the balcony of Courtyard 2, you need to walk a distance. It is not recommended to book a room on the first floor because the windows are all in the corridor at the door and the curtains must be drawn at all times. In addition, the sound insulation of people coming and going and the common problem of B&Bs is not good, it will be noisy overall. Hongcun is more commercialized as a whole, and it feels that staying for one night is not very meaningful."
