Review of Wanda Vista Hotel.
My stay at the Wanda Vista Hotel had its positives, but also quite a few frustrating issues. The hotel itself was nice, and the room was comfortable, but the location wasn’t ideal since it’s right on a highway, making it less convenient for exploring the area. Aside from that, it was okay, but there were several maintenance problems that definitely affected my experience.The biggest issue was that the room had several things broken, and despite bringing it to the staff’s attention, nothing was really fixed except for the door. The shower leaked all over the floor by the sink, which was both annoying and a safety hazard, but no one bothered to fix it. The skirting board was also broken, adding to the feeling that the room wasn’t being properly maintained. On top of that, we had an apartment with a kitchen, but the hotel refused to provide any kitchen accessories unless we were staying for more than 10 days, which seemed like a ridiculous rule. It didn’t make sense to have a kitchen that we couldn’t actually use. After complaining, I eventually got the accessories, but it was frustrating that I even had to go through that process in the first place.Overall, while the hotel had potential, the lack of proper maintenance and the odd policies made the stay less enjoyable than it could have been. If they paid more attention to fixing issues and improving customer service, it could be a much better experience.

One of the staff members was unfriendly and unhelpful. On our first day, we had to wait about 10 minutes at the check-in desk, even though three employees were present. The person who eventually assisted us didn’t even greet us—I said hello, and he simply asked for our passports. Later, this same staff member refused to call a taxi for us. Fortunately, another staff member was kind enough to help and called a taxi.
If you’re traveling with elderly people who can’t walk far and need a taxi directly in front of the hotel, I’d recommend avoiding this place. The streets are very narrow and often crowded, so taxis are reluctant to come. It’s especially frustrating when the hotel staff doesn’t assist with calling one.

My stay at The Divan Istanbul left me with mixed feelings. While the hotel markets itself as a five-star establishment, my experience suggested it might be better aligned with four-star standards. The service, which is a critical aspect of any top-tier hotel experience, unfortunately fell short of expectations.
Upon arrival, I encountered a passive-aggressive attitude from the reception staff that was off-putting. Instead of the warm welcome one would expect, the receptionists seemed more interested in talking over guests than engaging with them. This tone created an uncomfortable atmosphere that lingered throughout my stay. Additionally, the staff's grasp of English varied significantly, leading to frequent misunderstandings when addressing simple requests. This lack of clear communication is not what one hopes for at a hotel that purports to offer five-star service.
These service issues overshadowed any of the hotel’s potential strengths. A true five-star experience is defined by top-notch service that complements the hotel's physical attributes, and in this case, it was lacking. While the hotel may offer nice amenities and a polished appearance, without exceptional service to match, it cannot truly claim to be a five-star venue.
In conclusion, while The Divan Istanbul has the framework of a high-end hotel, its service shortcomings prevent it from fully realizing that potential. For those looking for a reliable four-star experience in Istanbul, it may fit the bill, but if exemplary service is a priority for your stay, it may be wise to consider other options.

The room is very clean. Istiklal Street is very close. It's just a few steps away. There are many restaurants and shopping places nearby. Overall it's very convenient. I will come here again next time.

”I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel recently and had a truly wonderful experience. I felt at home from the moment I stepped into the hotel. My room was spacious and airy, with a modern decoration. The view was magnificent; it was a great pleasure to watch this view while drinking my coffee in the morning.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The team at the reception answered all my questions with a smile and gave great recommendations about places to visit in the area. In addition, the hotel's services were really relaxing; they helped me relieve my stress.
The location of the hotel was also very advantageous. Being within walking distance of the city center made it easy for me to explore the surrounding restaurants and touristic spots. Although the lack of breakfast service seemed like a drawback, it was possible to find many nice cafes and restaurants around the hotel.

All the staff were friendly and smiling. I had a pleasant stay and felt at ease.
The location was convenient as it was close to the subway, buses, and ferry terminal.
The only downside was that the walls were thin and I could hear the people next door.

When we reach there no one was there.we were placed to let us know what to do. We had to collect the keys in a box. The room that we were place in was at the 1st floor and we could hear anyone we came back. GGuest UserThis is a very nice hotel located in the middle of the Sultanahmet area. It is close to many of the sites within walking distance including the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Cistern Basilica, The Blue Mosque, Hague Sophia, tram station, many historical hammams and wonderful restaurants! The front desk staff was very professional, accommodating, and informative. They greet you every morning & evening and always have a smile on their face!
If you include breakfast with your stay, it's on the top floor, and there's a beautiful view. The spread of food is hot and cold, and I ate very well every morning! They served different hot foods everyday which was nice... from fluffy eggs to potatoes, Turkish sausage, chicken sausage, etc. There's also a nice variety of cereals, yogurt with honey, assorted mezze dips, olives, pickled vegetables, fruit, pastries along with juice, coffee and tea. The restaurant staff was also very professional and friendly, and they were quick to clear plates and replenish dishes.
Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again!

One thing to note... I was traveling by myself and arrived by an airport transfer that I arranged. However, I would suggest that you book it through the hotel at $45€ cash, and here's why... The hotel is located on a popular street in which the tram runs along. No cars or taxis are allowed on the street, so it can be difficult. The driver who is unfamiliar with the hotel will drop you at the corner of the main street, which can be approximately two blocks. Depending on how much stuff you have, you will need to carry or roll your luggage across uneven cobblestones and/or very narrow sidewalks. I have a slightly immobile knee, and had a hard time rolling my luggage while looking behind me to see if a tram was coming, and there were lots of tourists walking on the sidewalks which didn't make it any easier. If you hire the hotel airport transfers, they will know where to drop you off and have the hotel staff ready to escort you and your luggage to the hotel. On my departure to the airport, the hotel arranged my airport transfer, and it was so easy. They have a secret spot where they park, and the hotel staff helped me to the van.

The efficiency of the reception staff varied; some were not up to the mark. For instance, when I asked one receptionist about taking a bus to Istanbul Airport, he responded with, “I have no idea.” It’s surprising that a receptionist wouldn’t know about airport transportation. MMavisdodoWe arrived at the hotel at 8am, and the check-in uncle hadn't come to work yet. The hotel staff warmly invited us to the restaurant for a free breakfast, and then checked us in early. The triple room booked by my family had a very comfortable bed. Although the hotel facilities are relatively old, they are well maintained. The cleaning lady kept our room very clean at all times, and the free mineral water and tissues were also provided in a timely manner. The hotel is in a very good location, 100 meters downstairs is the T1 rail station, it is very convenient to go to major attractions, and across the road is the Municipal Park and the Old Palace.

Close to the metro station.
The meeting was friendly.
When we had found in our kitchen no forks we ordered but the waiting time to fix the problem was too long.
Additionally, there were no spoons, no wine opener, no hair dryer
The room climate was a little cold.
In the room you can hear noise coming from the street even though we were living on the 27 floor.
Internet connection was unstable.
A bed in the bedroom was 1,4m but on Trip.com was stated that it’s 1,8m
No TV set in the bedroom
Because of the bed size we wanted to move to another room on the day however all the rooms we checked had smoke smell so we decided to stay at the room.
Swimming pool facilities not good. Need to be renovated.
The view from the hotel room was nice.

Also the hotel charge for your child!
Happened with me personally I had no option but to pay extra 200 € at the reception. And I witnessed another family had the same issue. As the receptionist neither allowed their child ( which was already booked for) neither cancelled there booing, the receptionist argued that it’s not there problem but it’s the website issue.I do not recommend this hotel, as you can’t trust them while there are much more options around

GGuest UserThis hotel is very good. It also has airport pick-up service and the sanitation is very good. I originally booked the hotel for two days. After I checked in, I felt it was so good that I extended it for a few more nights.

PPatrick NaturelThe location near Taxim, bus, metro, restaurants ... is pleasant.
The apartments are clear, but the kitchen does not want ... The household is not properly performed.
Do not hesitate to visit several rooms before choosing.
The guests are very friendly.
