This time I brought my wife to Taichung for her birthday, and we stayed at the Norway Forest Cultural Center for the first night. We arrived early to drop off our luggage and immediately experienced the friendly and polite service, which made me feel happy and warm. Although there was a minor issue with the air conditioning in our room when we checked in that evening, the front desk manager came up and helped us switch to a larger and more comfortable room. Their service attitude was also super nice. It's no wonder this hotel has reviews above 9 – it's absolutely deserved. If I have the chance to come again, it will definitely be my first choice! 🥰

Patty T.I really like this place! I stayed there for almost two weeks. It was convenient to walk to the train station, and since I was working remotely, the common area was a good place for that! The room was small but practical enough. The view was nice. Overall this hotel is no my go-to-place when I come to Taichung.

The room wasn't huge, but it was very quiet, tucked away in an alley. Parking wasn't an issue though; there was mobile parking right at the entrance, and the hotel also provided information on nearby paid parking lots. I had a great night's sleep; the bed was really comfortable and the pillows were excellent. The air conditioning was perfectly cold. We also received a welcome drink voucher that we could use at the front desk for drinks and snacks. After checking out, we realized we'd left our power bank and charging cable behind. To our surprise, the hotel proactively called us to ask if we wanted them to hold onto it. Since we don't live in Taichung, they even helped us ship it home via Black Cat Express, and we received it the very next morning, carefully wrapped in bubble wrap for protection. This is truly a thoughtful and wonderful hotel! Definitely my top choice for staying in Taichung.

Guest UserThe first day we arrived there was a city cleaning and so there were so many cockroaches on the first floor but the staff was trying to clean it and it's not their fault. The rooms are very spacious and nice. Breakfast also included and very delicious. (The fries are the besttttt) Tho you have to walk a bit to another hotel, the aunty there is really nice! They no longer provide you plastic amenities but i guess that's for every hotel in Taiwan. Overall a really nice place to stay!

Guest UserOverall, it's a great hotel. The facilities, staff, cleanliness, and convenience are all excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel again if I visit Taichung.
I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that.
However, there were a couple of things I wasn't happy about: (1) The hotel has self-service laundry, but I only found out when I got to the laundry room that it's only open from 9 AM to 10 PM daily (who wants to spend their prime travel time doing laundry in the hotel?). And at 9 AM, you have to call someone to open the door, and there's no air conditioning in the waiting area... Wouldn't it be more normal to have the laundry room on a non-guest room floor? (2) If there are no personal items on the towels placed on the chairs, it's generally fine to remove them. But I had placed clothes on the towel, and the towel was still taken, which I found really puzzling.

Tiffytif17The room is as described and shown on the pictures. I gave a 4 for cleanliness as on first night, I found hairs on the bed & a hole on the bath towel. I reported to the staff via LINE (in Taiwan they use mainly LINE to communicate). They quickly took action and offered to change the bedsheets and clean the room. As I stayed for a week, they scheduled a housekeeping on day 4 of my stay. The soundproofing is not the best but if needed earplugs are provided in the room.
It was the winter in Taiwan when I was there so having a hot shower is important and the hot water is available. I like that there is water dispenser at each room level, rubbish and recycling bins are located outside so it is convenient.
The location of the inn is about 15 minutes walk from the Taichung Train Station. If you are carrying large luggage, advise to take a Uber. It is near to 一中街 (yizhong street) where you can find many shops, food, etc. From the inn, cutting through the open space carpark, you will be at the shopping area.
As a female solo traveller, at the start I was a bit concerned of the location of the inn. The entrance to the inn is in a alley, next to a bistro bar. You need the access card to enter the inn so that is find, just make sure it is lock after you enter. The front desk only operates from 11 am - 10:30 pm. There is an emergency hotline number to call for afterhour service. Using LINE to communicate with them is easy.
There's a cafe next to the inn where you can have breakfast with discount by showing your room card. If you want to travel to places, there are many buses. If not, it is easy to get Uber. For first time traveller to Taichung, he/she will not be aware that toilet paper cannot be thrown into the toilet bowl, so it is good to have a sign to show that.
Overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. For the price, it is value for money.

Guest UserThe hotel offers good value for money, but the breakfast selection was just so-so. On our second day, we visited the Second Market, recommended by locals, which was only about a 5-minute walk away. You *must* try the Shan He Braised Pork Rice, beef pan-fried buns, and Lao Lai Black Tea! We had a great time walking around and eating, and our brunch was easily sorted. As for the room, the bed is right in front of you as soon as you open the door. However, the toilet and shower areas are separated (wet and dry), and there's enough space to open a large suitcase. P.S. There are no convenience stores right near the hotel; you'll have to walk a bit to find one.

Our stay was incredibly comfortable. I had requested a specific room type, and to my delight, we were able to check in to it on the first day. We were also told we could switch to a room with a bathtub the next day, which was fantastic service. The moment we walked in, there was a lovely fragrance. Since we stayed for three consecutive nights, the room was cleaned impeccably each day. All in all, I highly recommend this as an overnight option for everyone!

This is a recently renovated hotel with a historical feel. It boasts a spacious on-site surface parking lot. In its heyday, this hotel must have been quite a prominent establishment locally.
For visitors from out of town or overseas, please don't judge this hotel by 5-star standards; after all, its pricing offers excellent value for money.
Now, for my review: The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel's cleanliness is satisfactory (though the bathroom door was a bit worn). The location is also decent, being close to Fifth Market, which is a fantastic spot for delicious local food.
Finally, I hope this hotel continues to improve.

Wee_weeThe front desk lady was really nice. They hold your baggage in the back and only workers can go inside so it’s safer if you have important things in your suitcase. It also comes with really nice views
