Tembo Palace Hotel

This hotel is something really special. Little gem hidden in an old city. The location is directly on the beach; you can hear the waves flapping, when sitting at the dining area outside. Also it is central, but in a very nice and secure part of town. The swimming pool is large and has a sea view. Breakfast is delightful. Accommodations are sparkling clean and have got this old style Zanzibar charm with an accent on furniture, doors , lamps and even ceilings. Beach view is spectacular. But the best part is the people, the staff. Friendly, accommodating and understanding. There was a technical mistake with my online booking, and I thought I lost a reservation, and to my biggest surprise the manager Yakub Abdulkarim, very kind and intelligent man, realised it was a legitimate mistake through no fault of anyone. He has fixed it right on a spot, and I found myself in this most amazing room/bungalow with the sea view and an unforgettable feeling of warmth from staff’s overwhelming hospitality. T hank you Tembo team! Lovely people, awesome place to stay!!
Mizingani Seafront Hotel

Beautiful period property. Well maintained. Within walking distance of all local attractions. Great view of the waterfront. Surrounded by rest of the city, not isolated. Very nice rooms. Quite clean. But: Very dimly lit rooms. Untrained staff (but very willing and friendly) Just about adequate restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is quite good. Elevator/lift ancient: could scare the faint hearted.
Golden Tulip Stonetown Boutique

The Golden tulip Hotel and Zanzibar in general was an amazing experience. We stayed at the Golden Tulip Hotel for a few days in our Zanzibar vacation n the staff there are warm hearted, the rooms are clean and the hotel has beautiful views from the roof top restaurant whose food is also very tasty with a wide variety to choose from. One of my greatest highlights was meeting the Hotel manager Mr. Hasham who was also very welcoming and spoke highly of Zambia and it’s people and how much he enjoyed staying and working from Zambia in the 3yrs he worked in Zambia prior to his relocation to Zanzibar citing that Zambia is indeed his second home. Stone town generally is a beautiful place, the streets are windy and refreshing, it's well known for its beautiful doors, and the houses built out of stone and sand.. The streets of stone town are full of art and beautifully crafted bags and clothes it's a UNESCO heritage with beautiful history. You can visit the forodhoni food market and see the museum.. You can visit prison Island and Nakupenda also known as vanishing Island.. If you are planning a trip to Zanzibar don't forget to visit stone town and enjoy your stay st Golden tulip hotel. Ujambo is a famous word on the streets of stone town so don't forget to say it the kids enjoy..
Spice Palace Hotel

We only went for dinner here having heard that the roof-top restaurant has a good view. In the end the view was really the best part of the evening. The food was fairly standard fare, really nothing special - piece of chicken, not specially spiced, rice and veg - and we had to wait for it. The staff were slow and unresponsive, and when it came to pay I had to pull them away from their chatter to give me the bill and then they were unable to take hard currency and I had to pay by card. Frankly, there are plenty of better options in Stone Town.
Beyt Al Salaam

BEYT AL SALAAM was superb. Aminia and team were the nicest people we have met. There kind assistance with all our plans and excursions made our holiday truly unforgettable. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. A large comfortable bed with chrisp white linen and very comfortable pillows. It had an airconditioner, ceiling fan, tv and tea and coffee facilities. A nice indoor swimming pool TRULY A GEM. Thank you so much for making our holiday so memorable.
Spice Tree by Turaco

There are not many places to go shopping in Stone Town on Sand Island. The rooms here are relatively small. If you think you want to live at this price level, there are a lot of surrounding areas, but the conditions are more general and the price/performance ratio is not very high. The hotels in Africa are generally better than those in Southeast Asia. It’s quite expensive. The table in the room is dusty. As a Hilton, I shouldn’t. It can be seen that this hotel spent a lot of money in the past, but the decoration is outdated. Only the bed and pillows are very comfortable, because on the island, there are still some Humid, the hotel has its own scent, but I don’t like it very much, and there is no swimming pool in this hotel
