Travelodge Caterham Whyteleafe

Breakfast was good, Room spotless, staff especially Perleta.

Everything was awful. The kitchen was closed so nowhere nearby to have an evening meal or breakfast. The room was sweltering hot and even with the fan reception gave us, it was too uncomfortably hot to sleep The service was poor and asking for extra pillows was like pulling teeth. The reception staff seemed clueless and unable to understand the simplest of questions without repetition.

The staff and the service: totally incredible. The food was average at best, and there weren't many amenities, but it was located very close to 2 train lines which was extremely convenient. If you aren't planning to spend much time in your room, it's a great staging area for heading into London, going to and from the airport, or getting anywhere you need to. Priced right, especially for what you're getting. I would recommend it to friends and I would stay there again myself.

I have never been so annoyed with a company. Travel Lodge is the worst firm for service I have ever experienced. We were attending a wedding on Saturday 21st May and booked and paid for a room on 26th January ( 4 months in advance) , Arrived at 2pm to check in and get changed ready for the wedding, only to be told the room wasn't ready,we didn't make a fuss as some friends had a room and allowed us to use it. When we returned at 1.30am after having a wonderful time at the wedding we were told they didn't have a room, we explained what had happened earlier and the person at reception kept repeating the hotel was full, and the only help he could give was to call another Travel Lodge to see if they had any rooms available, after about 30 minutes he got us a room in a hotel 20 minutes away, by now it is well passed 2am. The next discussion was getting from one hotel to the other, I really think he thought we were going to either jump into the car or were going to order a cab, we insisted he sorted a cab out and book a return cab the following morning so we could collect our car ( parked in the car park) We arrived at the replacement hotel around 2.30am, after a few hours sleep we went to reception to in sure the return cab was still arriving at 9.15am, but there was no one to ask, fortunately a member of staff walk passed who made some calls and advised that no cab had been booked, after some time a cab was booked and we eventually returned to the originally hotel to collect our car This should have been a memorable event ( the Wedding) but turned into a nightmare caused by Travel Lodge We will NEVER be using Travel Lodge again

Comfy bed, nice desk Almost all we needed. Did miss a glass in the bathroom, bath mat, place to put suitcases other than on the bed, and table that used to be in the room last time we stayed there. Lovely staff, especially supervisor Helen. This is a value for money, clean and comfy place to stay.

WiFi isn’t free and pay to park is another rip off ! Hotel was very clean and in a good location if you need to catch the train. If you stay here then you’ll need to add £6:30 on top of your room cost. The restaurant is good but no beer on tap only bottles.

We use this hotel Regularly as it is most convenient for us, absolutely love the staff Guyan who works a Sunday evening shift (finishes at 11)! So helpful and happy! However, we have often ordered food to the hotel late on Sunday evenings (after 11), although not always the night shift staffs problem, he refuses to take in our food and multiple times we have had to go hungry due to this. Why is it so hard to take in an order for customers that you know are there week in and week out? I don’t understand this. So fed up of this staff member not taking in our food and letting the delivery guy leave.

Great stay. Rooms are clean and simple. The staff in the morning were great so friendly and polite. Especially, the lady at the reception and the chef. Food was great. High quality food for a low price. Rooms are well presented and stocked. Only downside is there is no a/c or fresh air. But the staff more than made up for that. Thank you for a great stay.

Made a complaint about window being filthy apparently it was clean even though I showed them and took pictures and management just laughed and said so what will sort it eventually, yes it’s a budget hotel but shouldn’t be treated how I was
