"Location and view are fantastic, facilities are good, there's no denying it's an old hotel and that comes with some quirks and even a few areas that are a bit rough round the edges but it's not advertised as the 5 star hotel it once was. So as a 4 star I'd recommend it to anyone, the staff and cleanliness of room couldn't be faulted!! My only real gripe / area that needs some more immediate attention is please get an EV charger or two!"

"Very poor for parking, the steps of the area going for the car park are unsafe for women and children, as there are homeless men sleeping and youngsters smoking ***** in the area, car parking fees are very expensive at £10.90 for one day so I was there for six days, where Premier inn is only £6 90 for one day, on my arrival at the reception even though I was born in Torquay and lived there for 17 years but now living in Thailand I was asked for my passport and I can assure you I was not happy with,"
"Superb building in a perfect location for us.
We were in a room with a wonderful sea view to wake up to every morning. Breakfast was a very high quality and gave us a great start to the day. Overall the hotel is very clean and every facility will used appears to be maintained to a good standard.
Our room was very spacious compared to many other hotels rooms I have stayed in. The bathroom was definitely larger than average and included a good size shower, with plenty of hot water at a good pressure. Even when the other taps were used, the shower seemed to carry on totally unaffected.
A couple of small details that would have improved our stay. A working lift, during our visit it was out of order. But this didn't spoil our stay. The other detail would be a small stool ( or similar) in the bathroom.
All staff came across as friendly, approachable and helpful, they all seemed keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay at The Osborne.
We took a walk around some of the grounds which all appeared to be very well maintained. We also walked out of the grounds and across the bay at Meadfoot, its a great location to stroll and enjoy the fresh sea air.
Would we stay here again?
Definitely, we have already discussed our next visit."
"The has incredible amenities for the price they charge! Everyone was warm and welcoming and made sure we were catered to at all times during our stay.
The rooms were comfortable and what you would expect a standard room too have, the rooms were slightly rough around the edges and had general ware and tear but that didn’t bother us much.
Overall very happy with our stay, and will be coming again."
"Great hotel, the room was lovely & so was the pool area! We went on the weekend at the start of half term so there was a lot of family’s there & children. I heard the week is better if you don’t want lots of children around but for us this wasn’t an issue. The hotel is very big & there is lots around. It is also in a great location close to the beach, parks & walking distance from the town. We really enjoyed our stay here :)"

Outstanding
GGuest UserIf you are not sure where to stay - don’t waste any time looking elsewhere, I can 100% recommend staying at Arran Lodge. We were so impressed with how well we were looked after, a clean and kept room with everything you might possibly need, including a welcome treat - homemade cake, space to park the car outside the house, a welcome reception and the most wonderful breakfast choice! Staying here was a treat and will definitely be back! Thank you for being such great hosts! Anna and Chris
FF HonourBooked a last minute break and have to say what a little gem this hotel is.
We were welcomed by the owners Steve & Wendy who the most friendly and down to earth people you would ever wish to meet.
Their attention to detail is second to none.
Complimentary home baked Bakewell tart, fresh milk if needed and an even honesty bar whereby you are trusted to serve your own drinks and settle upon departure.
Never came across this before at any hotel stay, just shows what genuine good people the owners are.
The hotel is immaculate, tastefully decorated and only a few moments stroll to the sea front.
We had the best nights sleep, mattress was extremely comfortable and bed linen was of high quality.
Lovely freshly cooked breakfast made to order with additional fresh continental offerings available.
This hotel failed to disappoint we can’t wait to visit again.
GGuest UserVery clean and comfortable . Set in quiet location . Food was lovely , cooked to order and a great choice of alternatives. Tea and coffee facilities in room and help yourself if you needed anything else .Hosts Catherine and Chris were lovely people . Would definitely recommend.
LLeland Shane Wei KenExcellent owner, Ganesh, who is super helpful and friendly. His family were also lovely. The room was clean, and very comfortable.
TTraceyBasically I wanted to get away but I didn't like the vibe so I left. However, the staff were great, the rooms were clean and I was able to leave when I wanted to. There was also live music and the musician was good. There is a good dance floor.
LLostTravellerThe room we were given was at the bottom of a flight of stairs resulting in a lot of noise disturbance throughout the day and night. The hotel itself feels a little dated and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The fire alarm at 7am was also an unwelcome wake up call.
The breakfast was good, with a decent selection and the general location is good for accessing local walks and the costal path. Parking is a bit of a nightmare and you can end up with a lengthy walk to the hotel when it is busy.
GGuest UserMoney we'll spent
Perfect location and on point with cleanliness
Feet away from beach and plenty of activities .
Will be staying at Abbey sands Hotel in the future.
DDebbie AnnWhat can I say, when we turned up the outside had old furniture outside so 1st thoughts was its been refurbished. We were told that we had to move our car from the car park or pay an additional £10 per night, this wasn't in the advert when we booked but suddenly appeared later that evening. It was hard to find parking on the street so had to pay. The facilities were basic. No extra pillows, just 2. Shower over bath, no curtain or mat. Coffee was sparce & uht milk expired but they did give us more when asked. The cups were however odd & looked like has been used by the painters. Area was quite good, near to takeaways etc.
