We have certainly noticed a lowering in the hotel standards. Subtle for steady decrease which undermine the quality and put in doubt the category of the hotel. A few of them could be enumerated: No more small bottle of body lotion of similar in the bathroom. We flagged this at reception and the lady mentioned this was never the case at this hotel, noted down our room number and never came back to us. The menu at the Room Service has been reduced and for instance, ommeletes are not available any longer. The kitchen lacks utensiles and this makes the room with kitchen experience a bit dull as you are not going to be cooking much with wooden cutlery, having to order pans at reception or needing plates that are not available on spot. I would propose either to remove them or fit them for purpose.

Best night’s sleep in a hotel ever! Comfortable beds and pillows, proper curtains and almost silent air con. Brilliant shower with Rituals products, separate toilet (always a winner!). Connecting rooms worked well for our family and the dog was made really welcome with bowls ready for her food and water. Can’t wait to come back again.

The location is very good, just in the central street, downstairs is the carousel and Ferris wheel of the Christmas market, very beautiful, walk along the main street there are many restaurants and city halls, lights during the Christmas period

My husband and I spent three days here on our recent trip. We chose this hotel for being close to the train station. Our room was relatively clean, we had some long dark hair in the shower. The air conditioning worked well enough. We enjoyed the laundromat and grocery store around the corner. It was easy enough to find the tourism office which was the meeting point for our tour. We had breakfast one day at their buffet. The breakfast had enough choices but I did not think it was worth the extra 15-18 euros. Best Westerns should build the price of breakfast into their room rates and just include it.

The hotel is located in the main train station square of Tours, but the car can not be opened to the hotel entrance, because the area is forbidden to travel, so it is necessary to stop at the nearby street to charge the location, to stop the underground garage opposite the hotel, but how to find this The garage is sure to take some time. I am lucky that my company is moving away from the Tours Nord area. It means that I do not have to stay in this Mercure anymore. They are always full. Sometimes I find it hard to believe given the size - and the fact that in CDG I have the upgrade every time. The standard rooms are of good standard mercure quality but in regards to amenities it is really below any kind of standard: you have a shower gel from a large bottle (that was unfortunately empty) and the same for the soap. There is nothing else. You get coffee powder and a couple of tea bags as well as a half liter of water. Maybe I am spoiled after our holidays in Asia but I am seriously considering to quit the Accor Live Limitless program and try my luck somewhere else. For two nights for business it is ok and again, lovely staff. Just not a place that makes you feel welcome. I am looking forward to seeing the folks at the Mercure Tours Sud again (should I remain with ALL...).

We booked the hotel for 2 nights. On arrival a very nice and helpful receptionist. I didn’t booked breakfast because we didn’t want to wake up early. So while sleeping longer in the morning both days the maid went into our room and was extremely embarrassing. Never happened before. We reported to reception which agreed with us and said will raise with the management. When we checked out we were informed that we will receive 2000 points as good will, in our account which never happened. We didn’t asked but when you say that you will do it and you don’t it doesn’t look good.
