La Posada was a beautiful place to stay on my Camino and Oscar, the host, could not have been more helpful and cheerful. The hotel itself was very comfortable with plenty of room and a beautiful indoor courtyard where I could relax.

Perhaps because October is shoulder season and business is slow, there is a lower level of service. But this hotel is barely open, there is no-one at the front desk to attend to guests needs or questions. None of the amenities are open…even the bar is closed. There is a number to call Oscar but he doesn’t readily pick up and a person at the associated restaurant even had trouble contacting him to check in several guests, including myself. I’m not sure why the popular tour company I used to book Camino accommodations put several of us at this hotel since it is closed, when there are other hotels and auberges in town with plenty of openings. And I don’t know why this hotel would hold itself out as open during shoulder season when it clearly is not open. Very disappointing.

Stayed during our walk along the Camino. Reception was not staffed on our arrival and we had to contact a nearby bar to meet with Oscar who was very helpful. Our room was on the second floor and I put some socks in the window to dry out and they blew down onto the glass roof of the lounge, but Oscar rescued them for me. Room was a little small, but bed was comfortable.

The hotel is relatively difficult to find. It is located in a side street of the Way of St. James. The reception was not manned. There was only a sign with a telephone number and a reference to the neighboring restaurant belonging to the hotel. The rooms were OK and spacious. Bathroom with shower. WIFI was available. Breakfast was offered, but it was very limited.

Wonderful and cozy place where the people have treated us wonderfully and Oscar has been attentive to us at all times, summarizing a highly recommended hotel where the pilgrim feels at home. The entrance to the hotel has some sofas and a reading room where it is very good

I went with a group of friends to Castrojeriz last weekend and we stayed at La Posada. We loved it. The rooms are very beautiful, warm, comfortable and with the charm expected from a rural weekend. We were 15 friends and all very happy. Thanks Oscar! For taking care of our stay!!

It is an ideal place for pilgrims. The room was very good, quiet, clean, with very new and attractive furniture. The bathroom was sufficient and everything looked very clean. The hotel has rooms for talks and a very well-equipped library to relax in the afternoon reading a book.
