The Mansion

Great B&B, comfortable room, everything required as expected. Good friendly service, and tasty breakfast in the morning. Didn't get use of the swimming pool as time did not permit. Sufficient, safe parking on-site. All in all, a good stay!

We stayed here in February half term. It was wild and cold in Whitehaven but very refreshing. The Mansion was warm and cosy with a delicious breakfast. The kids loved the pool which the oweners currently organise to give guests exclusive use & were very accommodating. Nav has lots of helpful advice about the area & is very knowledgeable about walks and eateries. They allow guests access to the kitchen to borrow plates, cutlery and use of the microwave so it makes getting a take away easy and accessible. We stayed in the family room so we had 2 bedrooms & a living room, it was very spacious and the beds were comfy. The only drawback was how old and creaky the house was when people were moving around upstairs & on corridors, but they had provided earplugs. It was a lovely relaxing stay and I would recommend it to family/friends.

The absolutely perfect place to spend a short break. Luckily, we got the sunshine and got to make full use of the beautiful gardens. The hosts, Nav and Ian, are exceptional and made the stay so welcoming and relaxed. It’s in the ideal spot for exploring both the north west coast as well as the Lake District. Dog friendly - our Rupert enjoyed the stay more than us! And the breakfasts also need a special mention. It was our second stay at the venue and we look forward to returning in the not-so-distant future!

Fantastic experience from arrival to departure. Our room was immaculate with tasteful decor. The following morning our breakfast was lovely with various options on the menu. Great hosts, dog friendly plenty of parking. We look forward to staying again.

View was lovely the room was very clean everything we needed i had my 9 month old son with me the hotel provided a cot too very welcoming. We were there for a family funeral we had use of iron and board too also swimming pool. Nice peaceful area will be staying again .

Have stayed here a few times now. Ian and Rav are extremely helpful and friendly - nothing is too much for them. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Great place to stay. See you again next year!

Had a great stay. Warm welcome and great advice given about places to visit, lots of information about the local area in the room. Room was spotless and lovely and warm. Breakfast was free and tasted great. Full English plus cereal, yoghurts, toast etc. will definitely be staying again.

We had an excellent stay. We felt that we were valued guests could not have asked for a better stay. We were given helpful tips on how to access the coastal path both into Whitehaven and in the other direction and good suggestions of where to eat. The room was comfortable and scrupulously clean, as was the bathroom. We would recommend to friends.

Extremely friendly and approachable hosts who are relaxed and knowledgeable on the area. Very helpful with suggestions on where to visit and eat out. Very spacious room that was very clean. We loved the pool, hot tub and sauna. Thank you for even accommodating our grumpy growling dog!
