After an initial hiccup with the first hotel booking, Trip.com customer service helped me to find another hotel close to the first one. Marriott Hotel Wuxi Luneng was that one. And it really helped to recover what had been a not too good start to my weekend in Wuxi. I stayed in a Premier Lakeside King-size room. As the name suggests it has a balcony giving a great view of the Yuantouzhu scenic park and Lake Taihu. The room itself is best described by photos and I will save me typing too much. I had the breakfast which has a lot of choice and if you have time you can relax in there for a while and make it a brunch. There is a 7x24 gym on the B1 level, a swimming pool and sauna too. All in all I recommend this as a good hotel to stay for a long weekend to see Yuantouzhu scenic park (only a five minute taxi drive away) and other areas of Wuxi.

This is my second time staying here. The environment of the hotel is outstanding, with a huge garden where I can stroll around for a long time. It was originally part of Liyuan, but now it is also separated by a gate. The housing facilities in the old building are relatively old and new, and there are no balconies. It is recommended to live in the new building in Building B. If you book a package, you will receive travel photography and Liyuan tickets. The little girl at the front desk was very nice. Seeing that we didn't want to go to Liyuan, she took the initiative to suggest that we switch to boat tickets to Yuantouzhu. Travel photographer Feifei took a lot of great photos for me in half an hour, which was great! Attached picture 🌷

Really helpful and attentive staff - reception is quick and helpful and the rooms are serviced daily. Good location with balconies overlooking the lake and easy access to the lakefront area, as well as nearby parks and mountain day walks. There is a downstairs area with a large pool table and similar entertainments. On the downside, we didn't find any shops nearby (walking distance) except for small convenience stores with limited supplies. The hotel restuarant wasn't open when we went looking and our room had clearly been used by a smoker (even though we booked a non-smoking room).

The hotel is in a new area, surrounded by high-rise buildings. The room is indeed very large. I took a rough measurement out of curiosity. The guest room is about 30 square meters. Including the small walkway and bathroom, it is estimated to be 48 square meters. Adding other public stalls, it is about 68 square meters. The table looked clean at first glance, but it was a bit sticky to the touch and had to be wiped with tissue paper and water. I took a shower at night and found that the floor towel was very dirty. It was probably the dirtiest floor towel I have ever seen. I wonder if it was not washed? Still too old? I see there is a washing machine in the guest room. Are guests required to wash it themselves? I don’t have many opportunities to stay in hotel apartments, and I don’t know the rules here. Except for the two hot dishes, the color of the breakfast was not very good, but the rest was okay.
