Hotels in Zhonggulou Square (Downtown), Xi'an

I am so mixed about this hotel. The Central hotel at the bell tower. Location - awesome. Quick metro ride from the train station. Hotel door is literally 5 feet from subway exit. Hotel is directly across from the bell tower. Staff - amazing. They will literally bend over backwards to accommodate you. They arranged the shuttle to the terracota warriors and back from the huaqing palace where the show was. In constant contact via we chat. Pretty impressive for $12 cad dollars return. Breakfast - this is the first hotel we paid for breakfast with becuase it was affordable. Finding a western style Breakfast in china seems to be challenging. The Breakfast is basic but you can get coffee, some fruit, toast, fried or hard boiled eggs and lots of chinese options, rice, noodles, sea food, black rice congi. Rooms - nice, a bit small, super clean and renovated but in a more classic stlye. The negative is the first room we had, either had mold or something but it made my wife and i very ill. They were very accommodating and moved us, the second room the ac wasnt working and room got up to 28c , the third room, third night is awesome. The first two rooms were in the south end of the hotel and both had a smell, maybe an older section. The third room is in the north end and has no smell and although it looks identical, feels much better. Price - we are paying about $55/cad a night with breakfast included. If i were to book here again, i would request the north end of hotel and if i noticed any sort of smell, i would immediately ask for a different room. The primary reason to book again would be #1 the staff and #2 the location.

Absolutely amazing experience staying at Novotel Xian hotel! From arriving at the hotel we were met at the entrance and our bags were taken to the reception. The women working behind reception were very welcoming, friendly and spoke great English. The hotel smelled very fresh, the room was very large, clean, modern and had lots of amenities. This hotel is excellent even to western standards, and I would expect to pay around £300 a night for this room back in London but here in Xian it was really cheap! Location is also excellent, few minutes walk from the main centre. Honestly I could not recommend this hotel enough!

It was a very reasonably priced hotel! Just note that there are a few set of ramps where you need to slide your luggage upon entering the building but they also have someone who can assist you when you ring the bell at the entrance. The room was very comfortable and they also have sets of washer and dryer. We just took didi to go around, it was close to the main tourist attractions.

Very good location, walk a few steps to Zhonglou metro station exit D cross to exit A to get many restaurants. Can reach bell and drum tower in a short walk. Nice breakfast. Room with space and clean. Grocery shop in front of the hotel. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. They allow to store our lugguages for 2 days during our visit to Luoyang. Highly recommended.

Great hotel for foreigners. The room was clean and modern. The staff was wonderful with helping me recover a lost selfie stick that was sent via SFExpress. I appreciated that tremendously. The metro is a short walk away. There are many good food options nearby. I’d recommend this hotel for any solo foreign travelers.

We absolutely loved the hotel. We stayed 4 nights and were impressed with the decor of the hall once we entered the hotel. The room was spacious and the staff were attentive. The stay came with free breakfast which we felt was too oily for our taste. Other than that, they served different desserts daily from 6-9pm as well. Free laundry services were provided which was very much appreciated! All in all, this hotel is definitely value for money, and we can see why it is so highly rated with over 10k reviews.

Of all the hotels I stayed at during my Hexi Corridor trip, this one offered the absolute best service, bar none. Its location near the Bell Tower is also incredibly convenient, putting all major Xi'an attractions within easy reach. On my last day, I was really cutting it close for my high-speed train departure, and the front desk staff went above and beyond, thoughtfully helping me retrieve my forgotten belongings. This level of attention to detail and service truly deserves high praise. The hotel's buffet breakfast was standard for a four-star establishment, offering a comprehensive selection, and is definitely worth indulging in. On a side note: Before checking out, we ordered a three-person set meal from the hotel's restaurant. Not only was the 'Hulu Chicken' delicious, but the portions were also incredibly generous. Also, if you prefer a room with a bathtub, you can specify this when speaking with the front desk.

Traveling as a family, we needed a triple room. We booked this hotel because we saw online that the triple rooms were spacious and the location was excellent. However, the room was quite dated, and cleanliness was just average. Despite this, the staff's service attitude was very friendly. Unable to stay longer, we only spent one night and promptly found another hotel. When checking out, a staff member asked about our satisfaction with the stay, and we candidly shared our experience. We made it clear that the room's dated condition was the issue, not the staff's excellent service. The hotel truly needs to update its facilities to stay competitive in today's market. After we left, we received a call from the hotel management. They sincerely accepted our feedback and informed us that the hotel would undergo a full renovation and upgrade this October. They also offered a certain amount of compensation for the unsatisfactory experience. Regardless of the compensation amount, we truly appreciated the hotel's commitment to valuing customer feedback. The facilities were excellent, and the room offered a very generous amount of space. It was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was also quite spacious. The location is fantastic, tucked away in an alley within Huimin Street. It's incredibly convenient, with the main entrance to Huimin Street just steps away and easy to spot. The host proactively reached out before our arrival, providing crystal-clear directions. The service was truly excellent.

Great location, right in the city center, close to the Bell & Drum Tower and Zhonglou subway station, making it very convenient to get around & visit many attractions (just one subway stop away from Yongningmen Gate of the Xi’an city wall & the morning market). We booked the Eastern King Room, locate on the 12th (top) floor of the hotel - the room was quite spacious & well-equipped. Especially convenient was the separated of the toilet, shower, and sink areas, which made usage very comfortable. We arrived in Xi’an by early morning and the hotel promptly helped us store our luggage. Both the check-in & check-out procedures were fast & efficient. As a Trip.com customer, I received a welcome fresh fruit plate & thoughtful gifts from the hotel upon check-in & check-out, including snacks, a hand-painted bilingual Xi’an color map, and a souvenir representing China’s intangible cultural heritage.
