This guesthouse is perfectly situated right by Moon Pond, the central attraction of Hongcun. It offers a tranquil escape while being just steps away from the bustling main area. The courtyard is beautifully designed with an antique charm. Right next door is Moon Pond Bookstore, and in the evenings, there are folk singers performing on the terrace. Enjoying a drink, quietly observing the night view of Moon Pond and the lively crowds, it's incredibly pleasant and relaxing.

Hygiene: Overall, it was excellent and very clean. Environment: I have to say, having such a large courtyard inside Hongcun is truly impressive. The courtyard is very well-maintained, and my mom absolutely loved it, taking tons of photos there – it’s very photogenic (Picture 3 shows a corner of the courtyard). Facilities: The only thing that I feel needs improvement during this stay is the air conditioning in the room (only for the room I stayed in). We visited during the plum rain season, so it was a bit stuffy and humid. Turning the AC up made it a bit too cold, but turning it down didn't seem to do much, although it was functional. I suggest it might need some maintenance or repair. Service: The service here was absolutely top-notch! The pick-up and drop-off were very prompt, and it’s very close to the West Gate parking lot. I paid 20 RMB for 24 hours of parking at the West Gate. The driver, though a man of few words, was truly wonderful. When he took us to the parking lot, he even drove his electric scooter to help us buy bamboo shoots because my mom loved them, haggled for us in the local dialect, and helped us pick out four really good ones! I usually don't spend time reviewing hotels and restaurants, but I just had to leave a good review for this driver! Additionally, the B&B is incredibly close to Moon Pond, just a few minutes' walk away, and about five or six minutes to South Lake (I walk quite fast). It's perfect for getting up early to grab a good spot for photos, as it gets quite crowded even by 7 AM now. Staying here gives you a big advantage for early morning photo ops. There are B&Bs around South Lake too, but I personally think they might not be as quiet as this one. Secondly, for food, I had both of my meals at the B&B, and the food was excellent, especially the stinky tofu. I've been to Anhui several times, and I've never had good stinky tofu until I ate it here – it was the best I've ever tasted (though not cheap). While the price was a bit on the higher side, we (two people) finished everything, which is better than paying for food you only eat a few bites of and waste. The rice was also very well-made; my mom, who is quite picky about food, ate a good amount. Plus, the restaurant faces the courtyard, offering a nice view, and dining is quiet and comfortable. Finally, the hand soap and toiletries were all quite good; my mom even found the toothbrush so comfortable that she took it home! 😅 This is definitely a B&B I would recommend to my friends.

The location is fantastic, right next to Yueyao (Moon Pond), very close to the post office and the scenic area's side entrance. If you want to visit nearby attractions in the morning, it's also convenient to hail a taxi. If you call the B&B in advance, they can help you with your luggage right at the entrance, and they even offered to see me off at the door when I left. The auntie at the front desk and the uncle working there were both lovely. When it rained, they even let me dry my shoes. Their rooms are also great – spacious, very clean, and full of character. I highly recommend staying here!

Between the two, you feel a holiday vibe where humanity and nature seamlessly blend. Staying in this village, filled with ancient buildings, makes time seem to slow down. Everywhere you look, there are white walls and bluestone paths… it truly makes you appreciate life. The Chinese light luxury style is immediately apparent. Exquisite flowers and plants adorn the facade, while vintage roof beams and tea sets exude a sense of history. The floor-to-ceiling windows are incredibly bright. A pot of clear tea and a good book are all you need to find solace from the hustle and bustle. There's no one to disturb you, offering a quiet escape amidst activity, allowing time to pass by peacefully. The design is grand yet rustic, leaving a lasting impression.

Tachuan's autumn was made even more beautiful by this guesthouse. I searched on Ctrip for a long time, worried about hygiene issues, but this guesthouse really paid attention to details and was very clean. The moment I opened the door, the automatic welcoming ceremony from 'Xiao Ai' (smart speaker) was very touching. It's right at the entrance of Hongcun and the price is excellent value for money. The proprietress is very kind, and the young man who checked me in, Manager Xiao Wang, was extremely helpful with excellent service. From picking me up at the station to helping me find a car for my travels, he saved me the anxiety and exhaustion of not having a car in Hongcun. The prices were also reasonable. Anyone worried about drivers getting upset in Hongcun can completely entrust their needs to him. At the village entrance, he even used a small electric cart to help with my luggage. There are Hello e-bikes nearby, so you can go to Lucun early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Thank you for providing such a 'utopia' after my busy work. The hygiene was indeed top-notch!

Overnight in Hongcun, half mountain and half water ✔ I booked this hotel while visiting Hongcun. I arrived at the scenic area at 6 PM. The hostess came with a cart to pick up my luggage. The entrance to the B&B is decorated in the Huizhou style. We booked a duplex on a last-minute basis; my friend prefers older buildings. We made do with it for one night. The highlight of this place is the terrace. From the top, you can enjoy the entire Hongcun nightscape. For the price, this hotel is quite good, and I'll also review it on the reviews page.

The cleanliness was impressive! The floors and tables were spotless, and even the window sills were thoroughly cleaned. It felt very comfortable to sleep there. The bathroom was dry and odor-free, making it feel even safer than my own home. The owner was also very helpful, suggesting a travel route that allowed us to avoid the crowds.

The bedding is soft and cozy, the natural light is fantastic, and the room itself is really spacious, making for a super relaxing stay. The overall atmosphere is very peaceful, not at all like being in a busy scenic area – it’s a wonderful place to slow down and truly rest. The room overlooks a small courtyard filled with flowers and plants, absolutely beautiful and vibrant with spring life. Just a few steps from the back exit, you can reach Moon Pond and the old alleys, making it super convenient for exploring and dining, with a lovely local vibe. The owners are also very warm and welcoming, recommending delicious food and sightseeing routes, and even giving out small gifts. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Hongcun!

Extremely satisfied with this B&B! The location is fantastic, right in front of a large field of rapeseed flowers, making for a beautiful view. The guesthouse also has a yard, a dryer, and even a tea room. The male owner was very kind and even recommended some delicious local restaurants. Overall, I'd give this experience a 95 out of 100.
