"A New Hotel with Potential, but Service Falls Short of Five-Star Standards Pros The hotel is clearly new, and the room is spacious, modern, and equipped with brand-new furniture and fixtures. The bed is comfortable, the air conditioning works very well, and the plumbing is in good condition. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The hotel appears to cater primarily to Chinese tourists, with large tour groups arriving by coach. Accordingly, breakfast is largely Chinese-style, which may not suit everyone's tastes. The breakfast area can also be quite noisy, as guests often speak loudly, sometimes seemingly trying to talk over one another. This makes breakfast less relaxing than one might expect. On the positive side, the staff are very accommodating and are happy to prepare alternatives upon request. For example, they kindly made an omelette for me, which I appreciated. Another highlight is the rooftop bar on the seventh floor, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Cons Unfortunately, several issues detract from the overall experience. There was no soap in the bathroom, despite shampoo and shower gel being provided in the shower. The shower drain was extremely slow, forcing me to turn off the water periodically to prevent the bathroom from flooding. In addition, an unpleasant musty smell frequently came from the bathroom. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable and kept disconnecting, which was frustrating. Despite having a kettle, tea bags, and instant coffee in the room, there were no cutlery items at all, not even a teaspoon to stir the coffee. Such a small detail, yet an important one when it comes to basic room amenities. The curtains also close automatically every time you return to the room, meaning you have to open them again manually using a button during the daytime. This is a rather odd and inconvenient feature. Another issue is housekeeping. Daily cleaning is not provided automatically and must be requested by displaying the appropriate sign. This is an unexpected policy for a hotel claiming five-star status. The location is another drawback. The hotel is situated away from the main part of town, where most restaurants, cafés, and other activities are concentrated. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk to the centre, including around 200 metres along a very dusty road. This makes walking back and forth less pleasant, especially if you plan to visit the town centre several times a day. Overall impression The hotel has a solid foundation: it is new, spacious, and comfortable in several respects. The comfortable bed, effective air conditioning, and rooftop bar are definite advantages. However, the service and attention to detail do not match the five-star category it claims to offer. For me, five-star hospitality means consistent, uncompromising standards. Guests should not have to ask for basic bathroom essentials, improvise when making coffee, deal with a poorly draining shower and unpleasant bathroom odours, endure an unreliable Wi-Fi connection, or explicitly request routine housekeeping. The noisy breakfast environment and the dusty road leading to the town centre also make the overall experience less comfortable. Individually, some of these issues may seem minor, but together they reveal significant shortcomings in service, maintenance, and quality control. A five-star hotel should not require guests to make compromises on such basic aspects of their stay. The hotel has potential, but considerable improvements are needed in day-to-day operations, housekeeping, maintenance, and attention to detail before it can truly deliver a five-star experience."

"The hotel is a perfect location, very easy access to the town and also a gorgeous unobstructed view of the mountains. It pretty quiet and peaceful. The bathroom could use a little/ maintenance tidying up to feel more clean. But other than that everything was lovely! The room was really spacious and comfortable for two of us and it was totally worth paying a bit more for the balcony with a view. We watched the sunset from there one day and could see some hot air balloons and paramotorists. The breakfast is pretty good, quite Asian/ Chinese. They have some yogurt, fruits, baked goods and chicken sausage and bacon but most of the other food is Chinese. Good variety though! They had gluten free cereal on request but sadly it wasn’t very good. The hotel helped us to book tours and their communication was really good. The WiFi is also great!"

"I didn’t have good experience in this hotel. Water stays in the bathroom not just under the shower area in the whole bathroom. When it started raining water was dripping through the window pretty strong. Changed my room to another, but the reception was not to happy about it. Bedding pretty grey not white anymore. Towels also grey. But there was something good about that hotel the view, breakfast was ok, but only instant coffee."

"Great value for money. The accommodation is clean, and the owner is friendly. It's inexpensive and includes a delicious breakfast. It's close to restaurants and convenience stores. There's a hairdryer, hot water, and a swimming pool. For this price, I think it's the best value in Vang Vieng."

"This was an experience that exceeded my expectations. The hotel was absolutely stunning, built right on the water, with the river and mountains blending seamlessly into the view right outside the door. In the mornings, you can breathe in the freshest air and witness a breathtaking sunset. There's even a morning alms-giving ceremony on the river (which feels a bit commercialized). Dinner was ordered at the hotel, but the next day, they inexplicably added extra dishes and charged extra (this was unpleasant), even informing me that ice was also charged. Since I had to go to the next place, I didn't have time to argue."

"The staff were absolutely wonderful. Both the female and male staff members were very kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. I really appreciated how considerate and supportive they were. There was an insect in my room, but given the beautiful natural surroundings, I understand that this can happen. When I asked the staff for help, they were very happy to assist me. The facilities are basic and appropriate for the price, but I would definitely recommend staying here. I would love to stay here again!"

"The location is a bit average with narrow roads. The hot water supply for showering isn't quite sufficient; the water was a bit cool when I showered at night. After turning off the lights, I could see the hallway light peeking through the gap under the door, so the soundproofing isn't great. It has air conditioning, a TV, a table and chairs, and a rattan chair. The bed was pretty clean, and everything else was good. The front desk staff, especially the young lady, provided good service, standing up and smiling while answering my questions. She also spoke good Chinese."

"Absolutely everything about this hotel is magnificent!!! The cleanliness, the quietness, the amazing staff who are always ready to help; a very beautiful location, and a shuttle service to anywhere in the city and back! This hotel is like an oasis 😍 It's worth every single ruble spent! If I ever find myself in Vang Vieng again, I'll only stay here!"
