We had an exceptionally pleasant stay at this hotel. Our room was spacious, bright, and thoughtfully appointed, with an excellent selection of toiletries that added an extra touch of comfort. The staff were consistently warm, accommodating, and attentive, always willing to help with anything we needed. The location was also ideal, with a wide variety of restaurants and shops right on the doorstep, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. Having travelled around China for two weeks, this was without question our favourite hotel of the entire trip. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and outstanding hospitality.

The service here is impeccable, even better and more attentive than a five-star hotel, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The location is absolutely fantastic. However, the soundproofing in the rooms is terrible. You can clearly hear the TV next door, the window panes don't close properly, and the air conditioning unit outside is directly facing the window on the same floor, rumbling non-stop. Downstairs, the noise from restaurants and their loudspeakers is relentless, with several places competing to be the loudest. Forget about sleeping; you even have to raise your voice just to talk. The hotel's response was both helpful and a bit helpless: no matter how late, you can always ask the front desk for earplugs, hahaha. Honestly, in all my years of traveling, I've never encountered a place this noisy – not even a bustling market street!

The room was beautiful and very clean, overlooking the ancient town right by the river when you open the window. It's not in the absolute center, but offers the same beautiful scenery with fewer crowds and more peace, which I prefer in a hotel. The price and amenities of this hotel are perfectly matched. Our butler, Kele, thoughtfully helped us arrange our itinerary, personally picked us up and dropped us off, and was always responsive to our questions. They even reminded us in time to catch our high-speed train. Most importantly, they upgraded us to a suite, which made our entire stay an absolutely fantastic experience. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Fenghuang.

We loved our short stay. Location is perfect as only few minutes walk to cable car station to visit Tianmen mountains. Local bus to Avatar mountains departs near the hotel. Plenty local food around as well as McDonalds and Starbucks round the corner. Room had nice bathtube inside the room which has nice views of surroding buildings. Will recommend staying in here 🙂

1. The room was spacious with high ceilings and an open feel. Stepping out, you're greeted by the pool and mountain views. 2. Breakfast was plentiful, a delicious mix of Chinese and Western options, perfect for fueling up before heading out to the mountains. 3. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Mid Gate, which helps you avoid the crowds and tour groups typically found at the East Gate. This means no long queues, direct access to transportation, saving time, and avoiding stress – no need to wake up extra early during your vacation. 4. The owner was incredibly thoughtful and provided exceptional service. They helped us plan our itinerary even before we arrived. When the weather unexpectedly changed during our stay, they quickly adjusted our plans to make sure we made the most of the good weather. 👍

The hotel facilities are complete, the front desk staff are very helpful, and the cleaning aunties are also very polite and greet everyone they see. The hotel even offers a complimentary 'goodnight porridge' service in the evenings, and the porridge tastes pretty good. The hotel's location is also excellent, with a subway station downstairs, making it very convenient to get to all the attractions. The breakfast offers a wide variety, and the Changsha-style rice noodles are delicious and definitely worth trying. The rooms are clean and tidy, equipped with smart home appliances, perfect for modern young travelers. There's also a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the breeze in the evening – it's really pleasant. It's close to Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street, so the atmosphere is lively and the whole experience is fantastic!

The location is excellent! There's a food street not far downstairs, and after dinner, you can take a stroll along the Li River to enjoy the scenery. The hotel is on the 18th floor of a building, so it's high up with great views, which I really loved. The guesthouse front desk also helped us book tickets for the Forest Park, arranged custom bus tickets, and even helped schedule our daily park entry times. It saved us a lot of hassle and effort!

This hotel's location is excellent! It's a mere 3-minute walk to the Tianmen Mountain cable car station, and opening the window reveals a breathtaking panoramic view of Tianmen Mountain – the scenery is absolutely stunning. The room itself is spacious and clean, featuring smart voice control for everything, including automatic curtains and a super convenient smart toilet. The bedding is soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The service is warm and attentive; check-in at the front desk was incredibly fast, and they even proactively upgraded me to a mountain view room. The staff are enthusiastic and professional, readily offering to help plan itineraries and book tickets. The breakfast is abundant, and the freshly prepared rice noodles are incredibly authentic. Plus, free parking and a self-service laundry room are super practical amenities.

This stay exceeded my expectations; overall, I'm extremely satisfied. The hotel's location is super convenient, making travel easy, and there are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's perfect whether you're here for business or leisure. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how clean and tidy everything was. The public areas are spacious and bright, with a minimalist yet elegant design, and no unpleasant odors – it instantly put me at ease. The room was meticulously cleaned. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the pillows were just the right height, ensuring a great night's sleep. All facilities like the air conditioning, hot water, and internet worked perfectly. The lighting was appropriate, and the toiletries were comprehensive and of good quality. The bathroom had a convenient wet/dry separation. The front desk staff were warm, polite, and efficient with check-in and check-out. They patiently answered my questions and provided thoughtful, attentive service. The hotel itself was quiet and peaceful, with excellent soundproofing, so my rest was completely undisturbed. The cleanliness was top-notch, and it was clear that great care is taken with maintenance, showing very high standards. It offers excellent value for money; the environment, facilities, and service all justify the price. My entire stay was pleasant and seamless, without any inconveniences. I'll definitely prioritize this hotel next time I'm in the area, and I genuinely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy place to stay.

SSteef182The best hotel in Zhangjiajie with exceptional service and perfect location! The room is absolutely amazing. It is so clean and neat; truly one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Everything is beautifully designed and well-kept. The shower is wonderful, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The location is also perfect. It is situated in Wulingyuan, right next to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park East Gate. You are at the entrance of the park in just a few minutes' walk. However, what makes this hotel truly unique is the service. It is absolutely amazing! We stayed in touch with the hotel via WeChat, and nothing is too much to ask. They provide excellent service and can arrange everything for you, whether you need tickets for the park or a taxi. It doesn't matter what it is, they will take care of it. The lady at the reception even helped me order food directly to our room. Additionally, the laundry service is simply perfect, and a special mention goes to the breakfast, which was really good. If you are going to Zhangjiajie, I highly recommend this hotel. It is the best hotel there is!

DDollysmileBeautiful property, we didn’t want to leave. Everything was well maintained, especially the gardens and trails. We took heaps of photos. The free tea tasting ceremony and free mountain sightseeing tour was very fun. The service and staff were all very friendly. The view from our room was gorgeous. The hotel also organized complimentary pickup from the train station. There were a few dogs and cats at the property which added to the vibe. We stayed in 6 hotels across 4 cities for our China trip and this hotel has been the highlight and our absolute favorite so far.

PPierre Sae Houer-LamThe owner is fully committed for us to have the best experience in Zhangjiajie. We arrived mid afternoon without any certainty to go visit the Grand Canyon the same day. Once he knew that, he speeded up our check-in to have the essential tasks done. Right after that he helped me to set up my DiDi so I can have a drive to the Grand Canyon. I never had such a good service before. During the next days, we realize that he can also help us book attractions for a better price and without queuing at the ticket office. Thanks to him we visited Baofeng lake and Huanglong Cave on top of all the other activities we booked in advance. We are not just receiving a room in this hotel. We received much more. We were really grateful for your kindness.

GGuest UserStayed here for two nights while exploring Zhangjiajie. Fantastic little guesthouse, the room was very clean and modern, having a bathtub was a plus after walking 20,000+ steps each day! They have Japanese bidet toilets too which is relatively uncommon in China in my experience. They also provide fantastic service recommending attractions and booking tickets for the sights with a discount. They reached out a few days before the stay to ask about my plans and helped me decide what to do and booked tickets for me at a discount. Each day they would message in the morning to remind me what I was booked for and what time to get there etc. I arrived early on the first day and they were able to check me in straight away, but even if that isn't possible due to rooms being full, luggage storage is not an issue. The building doesn't have an elevator but they will move all your bags to your room for you (I tried to say I would be fine doing it but he refused to let me!). On the day I was leaving, I was able to just leave my bags in my room and when I came back from the park in the evening they had bought them downstairs for me, ready to go. The only negative (and I know this is common in China so I'm not being too picky!) is that the bed was very firm. I didn't ask them for an extra blanket or something to add padding but I'm sure they would have provided one if I had asked!

Lliuwenyu1968Pretty good! The lobby is impressive, and the room is spacious and bright. The bed is comfortable, and the shower has great water pressure and heats up quickly. They provide plenty of bottled water, and the tea set is nice. You can also get eye masks at the front desk. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

CChaya🇨🇳 Ho Perfect if you're entering via the East Gate! Beautiful rooms, amazing service. Keep this in mind for your trip! 📌 🛏️ 1. Exactly as pictured & Great value for money - The room is fantastic, very new, and spotlessly clean. I booked a room with a bathtub and got the 4th floor. It looked exactly like the photos. The price in late March was amazing—less than $30/night (getting a bathtub at this price is super worth it!). The furniture looks brand new. - The bathroom is great, with clearly separated wet and dry zones. It has a smart toilet with a heated seat and auto-flush! - Amenities are quite complete. However, the hotel provides disposable towels. If you have a larger build, they might not cover you completely (I'm petite, so it didn't bother me), but the material is highly absorbent. - Good to know: the building has an elevator, but you do have to carry your luggage up a few steps to reach the entrance, so it's not 100% wheelchair accessible. But once inside, you can comfortably use the elevator without carrying your bags up to the higher floors. 📍 2. Quiet location but easy to get around - The hotel is slightly tucked away from the busy, bright areas, making it very quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep. - Getting to the park is super easy. You can catch a Didi to the East Gate, and it’s very cheap—only about $0.70 per ride. - As for food, even though it's not right next to convenience stores or restaurants, you can easily order food delivery. If you want to eat out, you can take a Didi or walk to the restaurant area. It's not far, less than 1 kilometer away. 👩🏻💼 3. Friendly owner & Excellent service - The owner manages the reception herself and is extremely hospitable. She gives great advice on exploring the park. Whether you plan a 1-day or 2-day itinerary, she can recommend the perfect walking route. I planned a 2-day trip, so she suggested entering via the East Gate on the first day and the South Gate on the second day. - She is always in a good mood and genuinely seems to love her work. Her bright energy makes talking to her an absolute joy 🤣 I was so impressed! - Her English is okay for basic communication, but for convenience and speed, we used WeChat. The translation feature made it smooth, and we understood each other perfectly. 🎟️ 4. Better ticket discounts through the hotel - I highly recommend this! If you need tickets, let the hotel book them for you—the prices are actually better than booking through popular travel apps. - Whether it's the national park ticket (she also helps book your entry time slot for every day you plan to visit—though if you want to change the time, you need to ask her to update it for you), Baofeng Lake, or the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, she can get them at a cheaper price. - Another perk is the unpredictable weather in Zhangjiajie. Letting her book day-by-day or close to the date means you don't have to risk booking too far in advance. I changed my plan easily because of fog and rain, and it was completely stress-free. 🚑 5. A personal note of gratitude (why I'm writing this review so long) Late at night on March 25th, I had a medical emergency. I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly helpful. She actually left the hotel counter to take me to the hospital and helped sort everything out 😭🙏 (I truly apologize to the other guests staying that night!). I was so touched and grateful, and didn't know how else to repay her, so I wanted to write this review to pass on the good word. Summary: This stay was super comfortable and truly heartwarming. Not only because of how much she helped me, but the rooms and facilities are genuinely excellent. If you're looking for a place to stay, please keep this hotel in mind! ❤️

GGuest UserFacilities: Quite complete, just missing a mirror directly above the sink. Hygiene: Very clean, nothing to complain about. Environment: The environment is quite good, but I missed out on the river-view side and didn't get to see the night view. On the bright side, there was no noise at night, which was very nice. Service: Quite good. The only suggestion would be to implement a self-service vehicle entry/exit mini-program, as having to go down to the first floor to wait for the elevator every time takes a really long time.

GGuest UserHost is a super nice guy and very helpful. He helps you book your tickets as well as with communication and he has many good tips for you. Usually people hang downstairs, there are also three cute cats. Usually people order food and have dinner together. You will easily meet fellow travelers here. The place is otherwise very basic and could need repairs and more frequent cleanups. But that is not the focus here. The hostel is also close to the starting point to Tianmen mountain. PS: The package for the avatar mountains has hiked to 450 RMB including cablecars and elevator (you can use the ticket on 4 consecutive days). 12 RMB to take the bus to its south gate. You need two days to finish the avatar mountains. Then one more day for Tianmen mountain. Another day for the canyon, if you want.

AAnonymous UserFrom the moment I arrived, I was able to relax and let go of all the planning. The staff were more than just innkeepers – they were tour guides, restaurant experts, and thoughtful organizers. Ticket booking, rain gear on a wet day, water always available – I never had to worry about a thing. Like being taken care of by family. They were also very accommodating with foreigners, spoke some English, and had a fantastic translation app for smooth communication. The most seamless, stress-free stay I’ve ever had.

JJames04The location of this hotel and the room quality for the price are amazing! It’s located right next to a metro station which is only one stop away from the central square, and from there you can take another metro line to orange island or to the railway stations - so this is very handy. The hotel is near lots of places to eat/shop, and the view from the hotel is nice. The room was nicely furnished, had automated controls for all of the electronics/curtains, and had a comfortable bed. The breakfast was not the most expansive, but was tasty. All of these positive attributes were unfortunately somewhat let down by the service, which although incredibly friendly, was certainly unorganised. To begin with, we arrived at 2:30pm for a 2pm check in time, so that we could go out to explore. Unfortunately, we were told the room was not ready, and that we were to come back in an hour, when it would be ready. Given that we were only staying for one night, this significantly altered our plans - but they did at least allow us to leave our bags. However, upon returning around 4pm, we were told that our room was still not ready. Despite the staff being very friendly, not much of an apology/compensation was given. Therefore, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes in the lobby for the room to be ready. Once we were told to head up, we arrived to a wet floor. Whilst this didn’t take too much longer to dry, it was another inconvenience - and all of these piled up to essentially waste our planned afternoon in Changsha. Unfortunately, there were further issues later that day. We had some laundry to clean+dry, and so decided to make use of the hotel facilities. We were quite happy to load the washing machines ourselves, but after doing so, we were told that they would handle the drying for us - great! However, if we had known how long this process would have taken, we would never have accepted. We initially thought we could come back to collect our clothes 2 hours later - a standard time for 30min wash + drying (dryers were all free at the time) - so we returned at about 7pm. However, it was clear that they had forgotten about our (or perhaps other customer’s) washing, as they ran to the machines to move things around, and told us it would be another 2 hours to dry, and then we would be able to collect our clothes afterwards from reception. As a result, we decided to head out for the evening, a planning to return later to collect. At about 12pm, we returned from the evening, obviously expecting the drying to be finished (as we were told we could collect it at 9pm). However, after the staff once again ran to the laundry room (clearly having forgotten about them), we were told they were still not ready and that there was a queue. We completely understand that given the size of the hotel, we would potentially have to wait longer - but the fact we were initially told that it would be ready at 9pm is what made this frustrating, and that it seemed very unorganised. As we were leaving the next morning, we had to stay up late to guarantee the drying would be ready, and so it was only past 1am in the morning we received them back (despite the laundry room being empty at 5pm). Overall, whilst the room was nice and the location was great, these issues significantly impacted our stay (especially due to just being there for one night).
