The location of the hotel is very close to the Jade Emperor Temple and Guandi Temple we are going to. It takes a few minutes to drive. There are plenty of parking spaces and it is very convenient to drive by car. The interior of the room is clean and tidy, the floor-to-ceiling windows can see the surrounding scenery, and there are welcome fruits on the table, which is very intimate. The bathroom that is more concerned about is separated from the three districts, comfortable to use and protect privacy. Before the arrival, the staff will take the initiative to contact by phone to confirm whether there are special needs for check-in (yin and sun, etc.), warm and thoughtful. There is also a gym on the third floor of the hotel, which is convenient to use. The overall stay experience is great. After that, I will book ~ in Jincheng.

We spent out last night of our trip at Kempinski Taiyuan, and it did not disappoint. The receptionist upgraded up to a room on a high floor with a view of the city. They also gave us fresh fruits and free minibar. They had everything you would expect of a five star hotel, and the location is in a bustling part of the city. Would definitely come back.
Even though it was off-peak season, the service and amenities weren't neglected at all. The breakfast, especially, maintained Marriott's high standard, which is impressive for such a quiet period. The bathroom facilities in the room were a bit old-fashioned and dated, but clearly well-maintained. All in all, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations.

Later I discovered that I was the Nian beast. I came during the Chinese New Year and left after herding the sheep and setting off firecrackers. As soon as the charger was unplugged, it was goodbye again tomorrow. I really miss my childhood. I could just play with a ball all afternoon, or I could Rush to the New Year greeting line, go to the front and ask for sweets. Growing up may be hiding tears in your eyes. You may not have a Happy New Year, but you must have a good New Year! Thanks to Haitian Hotel for every reception and five-star praise, and thanks to Butler Li Xia for the considerate New Year gift! see you later!

The hotel has a great location, close to the high-speed rail station. The front desk staff are all very enthusiastic; they greeted us as soon as we entered and helped us with the elevator. The room was clean, and we got complimentary mini-bar drinks every day. For two evenings, we craved rice, so we dined at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. The dishes were reasonably priced, and the rice was delicious. Chef No. 2's 'Guo You Rou' (fried pork in sauce) was exceptionally good, even better than the signature 'Guo You Rou' we had elsewhere in Shanxi later on – the flavor was just perfect. On the second night, Chef No. 3's 'Hui Cai' (stew) was also delicious and came in a large portion. Many thanks to both! If you're coming to Yuncheng, stay at Novotel; it's genuinely excellent. (The hotel doesn't ask guests for good reviews, which is great and shows their confidence in their service.)
Hygiene: Excellent. All towels, bath towels, and bathrobes come in sealed bags, which made me feel very secure using them.
Facilities: Excellent. Although it's an older hotel, the showerheads show their age but are very well-maintained and work perfectly.
Environment: The location is great. The room card gives access to a small gate leading to Yingze Lake Park. It's a nice two to three-kilometer loop for a leisurely stroll.
Service: Excellent. They offered complimentary welcome fruits, and you just scan a QR code to request more amenities. There's also a delivery robot that brings food right to your door, all very convenient.
Suggestion: I hope they can switch from instant Nestlé coffee to pour-over coffee bags. Instant coffee feels too low-end and doesn't match the hotel's overall quality.
The room was clean and tidy, the cleaning service was in place every day, the service was particularly intimate, and the stay was at ease! The hotel's breakfast is varied and nutritious, with hot dishes, porridge, steamed buns, sweet potatoes, taro pumpkin and other multi-grain staples, pastry bread and milk! Especially praise Zhao Junchen of the catering department for helping to find seats, serve meals, and the service is hot and thoughtful! There is also Zhang Pengxia, the service housekeeper, who carefully prepared children's slippers and dental appliances!
This should be the best hotel in Changzhi, Shanxi. It has a great location. It is adjacent to Changzhi Museum and within walking distance of Guanyin Hall. The floors and rooms are very clean. The waiters are very enthusiastic, and the service in the restaurant and at the front desk is very professional. Changzhi is a small city, and Runerlai Hotel is very convenient to reach by bus from the East High-speed Railway Station and the airport. Recommended.

its very beautiful traditional building from the outside. but the interior is modern. its in the center, easy to access to crowded and animated places. At nightime, the place shine beautifullly, a picture snapshot spot. The room is spaciouse, otherwise it is quiet expensive.

GGuest UserThis hotel combines the convenience of modern high tech with the spiritual beauty of traditional culture. The rooms themselves are constructed around courtyards that give a sense of what life might have been like in Datong many centuries ago. In the lobby and in the rooms, murals decorate the walls with elegant designs of birds or flowers. The cabinets, bench, and floors made of wood and the countertops made of marble work together well and draw on design choices that are classicly, universally appealing. At the same time, the entire room is wired with the amenties of modernity. The toilet has a seat warmer and a light that turns on when you lift the lid so that you can find it in the middle of the night. Similarly, there seem to be motion-sensitive lights throughout the room that light up when you walk in the middle of the night so that you can find your way around. The water in the shower and the bathtub is able to get very hot (which I love!) and has high pressure. There is also a top-of-the-line hair dryer. It's the perfect blend of high tech and traditional amenities! If I have one complaint it's that the room was so hot that I had to open my window to let in the freezing air, and still the room was hot! That shows how effective the heating system is!
The serivce at the hotel is also extraordinary! All the members of hotel reception are very friendly. And they send someone to your room shortly after you settle in to give you a platter of fruit, which was fresh and seasonal and artistically chosen it seems. They also have 24 hours service in case you need anything. My friend went into the lobby early in the morning shouting about coffee, and the staff came out quickly to make him a cup.
The hotel is also very clean. The blankets, the pillows, and the sheets are as white as snow. The floors are free of dust and dirt and smudges. Everything in the shower and toilet room was scrubbed clean too. And the shower drains smoothly without pooling any water, showing how well it is maintained.
Finally, the location is very convenient. You can see that for yourself by just looking at the map. But I would like to add that just outside the gate of the hotel, you can see the Prince's palace, which is beautifully lit at night. What's more, my favorite restaurant in downtown Datong (I think the restaurant is translated as BeiWei Family Garden or something like that) is less than 5 minutes walking from the gate. There are also multiple shops for buying vinegar or wine or shaji snacks. In less than 10 minutes, you can also walk to all the major commercial streets. I love the location of this hotel!

GGuest UserThe location is superb, right within the ancient city. For those driving, parking is available at the Nine Dragon Wall parking lot, just a 100-meter walk away. Despite being in a tourist area, it offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Guandi Temple is also conveniently located nearby. The service was excellent, and breakfast was quite good too. Both the owner and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Although the May Day holiday prices were significantly higher than usual, the convenience made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWe stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property.
Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it
And it does feel and look like a traditional house.
You feel you are going back in time.
Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs.
He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city.
Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions.
Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him.
Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm.
On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour.
Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class.
The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved
The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk.
The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.
GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

KKelly2002We enjoyed our stay at Mercury hotel and were particularly impressed by how friendly and accommodating the entire hotel staff was. The hotel breakfast buffet was undoubtedly the highlight. There was a great selection of hot and cold items to choose from. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. It was the perfect way to start our day.

GGiuliaThis place is absolutely wonderful.
Centrally located, the building is magnificent and our room was a dream (we were also upgraded and our room was on two levels with a nice balcony and a really spacious living area).
Staff was really helpful and kind - they also hired a driver for us since we wanted to visit Hanging Monastery directly from the high speed station, before even checking in at the hotel: they took care perfectly of our necessity and the organisation was flawless.
I really recommend this place to anybody! you will not regret it!!!

XXihuandelanThis unique guesthouse is nestled within the ancient city walls, accessible via a charming, tranquil alley. From Pingyao Ancient City High-Speed Rail Station, a taxi takes you directly to the New East Gate of the ancient city, and it's just a 400-meter walk from there. The guesthouse owner arranges for staff to assist with luggage and pre-heats your room's air conditioning, ensuring guests shake off the winter chill and feel warm. The guesthouse facilities are in excellent condition, and cleanliness is top-notch (disposable towels are provided). It perfectly blends rustic charm with modern amenities, full of thoughtful details.
