A rather mediocre experience. I've been a Ctrip member for 15 years and rarely leave bad reviews, so I'll give this a passing grade of 3.0. The main reasons for the average experience were: 1. My baby had a fever in the middle of the night and couldn't get up the next day. I wanted to take some breakfast back to the room, but they wouldn't allow it, and the staff's attitude was quite stiff. At over 1700 RMB for two nights for three adults and one child, the price wasn't cheap. Since the hotel couldn't be understanding towards me, I can't be understanding towards them in my rating. 2. There must be floor heating or central air conditioning, because the room was extremely dry, even drier than indoors in Beijing during the heating season.

🌟 Amenities: There's a beautiful fountain ⛲️ at the entrance. I'd wanted to stay here since my first night in Taiyuan, and I finally made it! 🌟 Even though the Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan is a bit older, an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari, right? 🌟 The service was excellent. We sent our luggage over before we even arrived, with the driver. When we called the front desk, they immediately helped us arrange everything. Upon arrival, we just gave our name and our bags were brought right over. It was very thoughtful and heartwarming. 🌟 The breakfast was delicious, and they had my favorite cucumber juice. Breakfast ends at 10:30 AM.

Although it's close to the airport, it was quiet at night. We booked a 360° airport view room, hoping to see planes, but the windows faced a wall, so we couldn't see any, which disappointed my child a bit. The bathroom lighting was too dim, and there was no toilet seat cover, so you'd need to bring your own. The value for money was just okay; we only slept for 7 hours before checking out.

I highly recommend Shanxi Grand Hotel as Taiyuan's state guesthouse, especially the new JinYue building. You get to enjoy the convenient location of Shanxi Grand Hotel while experiencing a smart, modern stay. Before I arrived, I was a bit confused by the room types at Shanxi Grand Hotel, but then I realized that all rooms with 'Guo Feng' in their name are in the new building. I recommend the Guo Feng Deluxe Room – the facilities are new, the space is generous, and the layout is well-designed. The only downside is that there are only four such rooms in the entire hotel, and they all face outwards, so you can't see the hotel's light show from inside. Compared to staying in the main building where the elevator stops on every floor, staying in the new building makes getting up and down very convenient. The night view of Shanxi Grand Hotel is spectacular and a sight to behold in itself. You can go downstairs in the evening and take as many photos as you like; every time you enter or exit, you're treated to dazzling lights. The hotel room includes daily complimentary drinks and fruit, and the shower pressure is excellent, making for a fantastic experience.

The location is great, near Liuxiang, with plenty of food options and easy access to transportation. On the second day, housekeeping left a note saying they wiped down our luggage. However, on check-in day, the room temperature was around 26 degrees Celsius, and the air circulation was poor. I'd subtly sweat even when doing nothing, though I initially dismissed it as me not being used to the 10-degree outdoor temperature. The next day, after returning from sightseeing, I found the AC on cool, yet the room was still at 27 degrees. The in-room phone to the front desk didn't work, so I used my mobile to call and ask if the high temperature could be adjusted. The front desk replied that the AC system had been broken for the past couple of days and said they'd check if housekeeping had a fan. About half an hour later, a man, not in uniform, knocked and said the hotel had no fans and the AC system was broken, with no solution available. It was already past 11 PM, so I didn't want to engage in a fruitless conversation and let him go. Later, past midnight, I noticed bloodstains on the pillowcase. I felt it wasn't worth bothering with, so I just set the pillow aside and didn't report it to the front desk.

Our family of four spent one night in Datong to break our week in Beijing, and this hotel was such a breath of fresh air from our more ”utilitarian” hotel in the capital. We stayed in the Lushun room. It was modern, clean, airy, and had good room temperature control despite being the shoulder season. Highly recommended if staying there with kids, as they can have their own separate area and parents can truly relax. We didn't try breakfast, though, as it's a 10-minute walk away, and we just wanted to rest in the morning. We just ordered food in.

Had a truly memorable stay thanks to the outstanding service provided by the hotel team. In particular, I would like to commend Lili, Huahua and Lu Baofeng for their exceptional hospitality. They were attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout my visit. Their professionalism and genuine care made a lasting impression, and they are a true credit to the hotel. I look forward to returning in the future.

This hotel offers excellent value for money. It's newly opened with modern facilities, attentive front desk service, and a delicious and exquisite breakfast. The convenient location is close to both the old town and the business district. Highly recommended! Five-star rating!

I chose Nan She for both of my trips to Datong, spaced about twenty days apart. The first time was by chance, but the second was a deliberate choice, both reflecting my high appreciation for every aspect of Nan She. It's located right beneath the North City Wall of the ancient city, close to Daiwang Mansion and Kuixing Tower. Its proximity to the main road makes getting around very convenient. The entrance to the North City Wall is just a few minutes' walk away, offering a superb spot to watch the sunset over the ancient city. The breakfast at the guesthouse is absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless, and the bedding is clean; every detail is perfectly executed. The overall service is beyond words – attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Choosing the right accommodation is a crucial part of enhancing the travel experience, and both of my stays here provided an excellent one. Datong is a city you'll want to revisit; the more you get to know it, the more you'll love it. The blend of history and modernity, delicious food, and beautiful scenery offers endless appeal. The hotel boasts an excellent location facing the Fen River, offering beautiful riverside views. The rooms are well-equipped with amenities like smart toilets, a huge TV, and a complimentary minibar. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of choices. Right next to the hotel, there's a restaurant that's clean, affordable, and delicious, serving both noodles and rice dishes with generous portions at great prices. The hotel also provides a high-speed train station shuttle service, though reservations are required. Overall, this hotel is fantastic! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Linfen!
