Inside the Stirling university which is a nice and quiet environment, but it requires travelling to the city centre. There is no restaurant which opens for dinner except that in the hotel.
The original room on ground floor given to us has a strong odour smell, which did not disappear after cleaning by housekeeping team. The reception initially refused to change the room. Only after we insisted then we were given another room on the first floor, but it wasted us almost 1.5 hour in waiting.
Otherwise, everything is very good including the excellent breakfast.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro is set in a truly unique and picturesque location, surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty of charm. The setting itself makes it a special place to stay, and it’s a great base for exploring the surrounding area. The historic building and grounds add to the overall experience, giving it a character you don’t often find in modern hotels.
That said, I did notice a few small details that could improve the guest experience — some of the typical hotel amenities were missing, such as basic cutlery and mouth rinse cups in the room. While not major issues, it’s something I would have expected at this level of accommodation.
Overall, the stay was enjoyable thanks to the setting and atmosphere, and with a little more attention to those details, it could be an excellent all-round experience.
A very nice boutique hotel located in the city centre with tourist attractions nearby. My request for a quiet room at the end of hallway was kindly met. Tea, coffee, bottled water and cookies were provided in the room. King size bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again.
This hotel is in a great location for exploring Stirling by foot, can't beat it! It's a basic hotel but has all you really need, with no frills. Staff were fast and helpful, parking on site. Bathroom could have been cleaner, shower pressure isn't great. But rooms were quiet, bed comfortable.
The breakfast is simple, the location is easy to find, the scenery is beautiful by the lake, the rooms are small, the facilities are old, pets are allowed, there is a bar and resident singers in the evening, the atmosphere is good, the price is high
The super-superb castles are all European-style, with all the antiques at your fingertips. The decoration in the hotel room is retro. The waiter was also very enthusiastic. I didn't need an extra bed. The waiter gave me an extra bed for free. I also sent a lot of fruits and drinks. I will stay next time~
I didn't expect to find such a great hotel in this location! The building itself is an old one, converted from a former middle school. The Scottish lady at the front desk was incredibly professional and welcoming, offering all sorts of helpful information. They have hot spring pools and spa treatments available. The room decor has a classic Scottish style. The bathroom, however, doesn't have a separate wet and dry area. I'm not sure what material the floor is, but it feels soft underfoot and water drains very quickly. Parking is free. The surroundings are filled with ancient buildings and churches, making it a quiet and comfortable place.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room very cold - air conditioning system that clearly doesn’t work. Did read other reviews prior to arrival and should have taken note as this seems to be a common complaint.
Staff clearly aware as delivered an electric heater without question when asked for one.
Breakfast okay. Will not cook poached or fried eggs only scrambled.
