I recently stayed at Ermass Modern Living Apartments in Athens and overall had a pleasant experience. The property is in a very good and central location, with bus and metro connections nearby, making it easy to get around the city. It was also easy to find, which is a big plus for first-time visitors.
The room was comfortable and practical, equipped with a mini-kitchen and utensils, which was convenient for light cooking. There is also a nice rooftop garden where you can relax and enjoy the view. The apartment is close to the famous Stani Greek restaurant, as well as several mini-markets for groceries and daily needs. An AC is provided, which made the stay comfortable during warmer days.
A special mention and thanks to Thanos and Konstantina for their warm hospitality and constant support throughout the stay. They were very friendly, helpful, and always ready to provide useful information about places to visit, travel tips, and other local details.
However, there are a few downsides to be aware of. The back side and nearby streets are not very clean, and the area does not feel very safe late at night. After around 10 PM, it’s better to avoid walking around, as we noticed several homeless individuals and people associated with ***** in the vicinity during nighttime.
Overall, Ermass Modern Living Apartments offers great value, a central location, and helpful staff, but guests should be cautious about the surrounding area at night.

The hotel room was quite spacious for European standards, but dining options nearby were a bit limited. Breakfast was good, and you could see the Acropolis from the rooftop, which also had a pool. It was too cold to even think about going out. The hotel service was excellent; they even helped me check in around 12 PM when I arrived.

The room was small; what they called a triple occupancy just meant an extra sofa. Luckily, there was plenty of counter space to put our things. Housekeeping came every two days, and we got mineral water upon check-in based on the number of guests, but it wasn't replenished during our stay. However, there's free water available on the first floor.
There's a supermarket on the street behind the hotel, making it easy to buy water for 0.15 Euros. Convenience stores nearby charge 1 Euro. The surroundings aren't particularly scenic, just a regular street, a bit cluttered, like a third-tier city in China. The safety was fine; I was a bit nervous before coming, but there was nothing to worry about. It's close to the Acropolis, which is very convenient for sightseeing. There's a Chinese restaurant not far to the right when you exit, and also one towards the Acropolis.
I just felt the value for money was really low. For this price, you could stay in a five-star hotel in China, but here it's just a budget hotel. It is what it is, I guess.
Hardly needed any cash; credit cards were accepted everywhere.
**Cleanliness:** Decent, clean and tidy.
**Service:** Everyone greeted us upon entering and exiting, very enthusiastic.
The apartment was really good, everything was new and modern. Good kitchen and bathroom for two, also a good bed. Only the traffic noise was terrible from a three lane street below the windows. Only the best and most tired sleepers can sleep here.
There is a 5 minutes walk to the metro station and one minute to a supermerket, bakery and coffee shops.
The photos tied to this hotel is NOT the photos of the hotel. My cab from the airport did not know where this hotel located, got lost and left me across the street from the location. The woman that runs this place is a stickler and all she cares about is money. The door to the room, does not lock very well. The sliding door to the balcony also does not close very well. The room was very old fashioned. It was okay clean - I did see a worm crawling near the curtain next to the balcony door. Breakfast is a rip off. Too expensive for a couple slices of toast and one hard boiled egg, Don't get breakfast here. Was the room spacious? Yes, but I felt unsafe as the doors did not lock well. The decor and furnishings as mentioned were from the 50's. Overall, you can do better. Pick someplace else that will be closer to the beach. Also, this place is not very close to town, so you are better off renting a car or cabbing it to town. By the way, got stuck in that elevator, it took me to the basement and was stuck there for awhile. It's a death trap, don't use it.
This is a cost-effective hotel. Compared with luxury hotels, it is naturally useless. But if you don't want to spend too much budget on accommodation, it must be worth choosing. And, after leaving Athens, I was never so lucky again. When spending the same money, are you willing to squeeze into the multi-person dormitory of the youth hostel, or to enjoy a private space alone? Providing a choice is much better than not having to choose. ROY, it is worth staying again
Really liked the rooftop bar/restraurant with view of acropolis.
Was also allowed access to room early & upgraded to premium room so really pleased with this hotel.

The room is clean and comfortable, with a small balcony. The most important thing is that it is very close to the Acropolis and Syntagma Square. The X95 bus to the airport is nearby, as is the subway. Although breakfast is not included, there is a coffee machine in the room. The pedestrian street is right in front and is very lively at night. Because it is across the street from the pedestrian street, it is still very quiet at night. All in all, very satisfied!
Best value for summer and a great rooftop bar at night. Rooftop should be open all the time not just night and should be used for outdoor yoga and massage
As breeze
Extremely hot to travel there in June
Best times later in season say 0ct
Athens Airport has long been my gateway between Ireland and Israel, and Sofitel is the only real comfortable option for an overnight layover. The location is unbeatable — you just walk out of the terminal, cross three zebra crossings, and you’re in the lobby.
The hotel is definitely 5-star and feels it in cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and quiet, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee and water. However, prices are steep. Normally it’s around €400 per night for two adults and a child, though I managed to book midweek for about half that. Still expensive, but I wanted comfort — and got it.
The booking didn’t clearly confirm if an extra bed was included for my child, and neither Trip nor the hotel replied to my message, though we did get the bed in the end without extra charge. Breakfast is not included in the high price, and €30 per person felt excessive, so we skipped it. Also, food options are overpriced — €22 for a “Greek salad” that oddly came with ricotta. We ended up getting Burger King from the terminal, much better value.
The indoor pool was clean but the water was colder than expected and the size modest. The shower had fluctuating warm water, a small annoyance but tolerable for one night.
Overall: great convenience and comfort for an airport hotel, but pricing for food and extras feels unreasonable.

Very Good
Overall service was excellent and the staff was helpful. The room was very clean with plenty of room.
We had a wonderful stay. Excellent host even started a fire in their fireplace for us while offering us a small jug of wine. The location is really on the “country” surrounded by olive trees and vineyards and a 800 year old small chapel directly opposite. Beds were comfortable and they’re pet friendly too even providing a dog bed for our pup. Shuttle to airport can be arranged by your hostess. It takes about 10 minutes to the airport. Overall would definitely stay here again.
The location, cleanliness, and amenities were excellent. The staff was very friendly. They prepared the room for our baby, even with a separate crib. The shower, room temperature, coffee maker, and decor were all excellent. The staff were very helpful. It's definitely a quiet, luxurious, family-friendly hotel. Thank you very much. I definitely recommend it.
This is the first time I’ve ever stayed in Grand Hyatt around the world. It was so much nicer than I expected because the staffs are so kind and helpful during the stay. Especially, when I checked in, the front desk staff was very friendly with good smile. Then, they realized that my birthday was coming in 2days, so they upgraded my room for me! Plus, breakfast was awesome for me. There are tons of things including Greek food. I’m sure I will stay here again when I visit Greek.
Very accomodating service with great amenities. Great rooftop bar and pool with a view of the acropolis. It is slightly out of the main tourist area of Plaka- about 15 min walk to the acropolis.
Skylark Hotel Athens offers a generally positive stay, with a few aspects worth highlighting. The hotel, which previously operated under the Brown brand, has retained much of its boutique, design-led style, creating a pleasant and contemporary atmosphere throughout the property. Its location works well for visiting central Athens, and overall it represents fairly good value for the price segment. The guest rooms are relatively compact, so travelers who need a lot of space should keep this in mind. However, the layout makes sensible use of the available area, and the decor and furnishings feel modern and comfortable, making it suitable for short city trips. In terms of noise and cleanliness, the experience was satisfactory and allowed for a restful night. From earlier visits, the breakfast stood out as a strong point, with notably high quality and variety for this category of hotel. On the most recent stay, breakfast was not tried, so it is not possible to judge whether the previously high standard has been maintained. In summary, Skylark Hotel Athens is a good option for guests seeking a stylish base in Athens with a reasonable price-to-quality ratio.
