Pet-friendly Hotels in Canterbury, New Zealand

I stayed in North south holiday park on the day of arrival and the night pre departure from Christchurch. It is located about 5 mins drive or 45 mins walk from CHC international airport. You can book their airport shuttle ($5 per pax) during operational hours or the front desk can order a taxi for you at a cheaper price. Amenities are complete and cleanliness is well maintained. The only set back is there is no eateries within short walking distance except burgerking, but not a problem if you come with a car or you can cook at their kitchen(with utensils provided)

It was a rainy and windy New Year's Eve in Christchurch. After a long struggle picking up the rental car at the airport in the rain, we cautiously drove for half an hour to reach the hotel and park. The black gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel's inner courtyard is beautiful. The room decor, as mentioned in other reviews, is indeed a bit dated, but the room itself is quite spacious. We braved the stormy weather to walk back and forth to Amazonita for our New Year's Eve dinner, and my pants and socks were completely soaked when we returned. To my surprise, there was a washer-dryer combo unit, complete with two small packets of laundry detergent and instructions taped next to it. After getting Doubao to translate how to use the machine, I washed all my wet clothes. They came out warm and dry, ready to wear the next day.

The Chinese owner made communication easy, and I was able to check in around 12 o'clock. The room was a bit old, but it had everything I needed, so it was fine for one night. Try to avoid rooms facing the street, as the soundproofing isn't great.

The overall ambiance was just average. Cleanliness: The place was quite clean. Service: There wasn't much service to speak of. The most significant issue was the strict 10 AM check-out time; they'd constantly rush you if you weren't out, which was quite stressful. Facilities: The facilities were a bit dated, but generally acceptable.

The motel was probably quite old, but the price-performance ratio was still acceptable. However, the facilities were a bit outdated, making it seem less clean. The beds were also quite old, and the shower was inconvenient.

Spacious and good. The next day, I returned a rental car from Christchurch Airport. I was wondering if I would sleep in the city or outside. I was good at choosing this place. Save the cost and the hostel is very spacious. There's time to go to the airport, and we're walking around the valley of Hutshan. I had a rice cooker at a Korean restaurant.

I really enjoyed staying at Dusky Lodge. Friendly staff , cosy room , nice communal areas and the bonus of a spa pool . Excellent value.

The owner was excellent! Upon checking in, they immediately offered us a drink. Check-in was very quick. The room facilities were great, and it was spotlessly clean. In Christchurch, finding such comfortable accommodation at this price point is quite rare.

All were good, the location is very near to the city center. Although the parking was a bit narrow, we were able to park in front of our unit safely. The kitchenette was rather small and dont have a complete utensils like chopping board, but we managed with whatever provided. There was no hood as well so when we were cooking, the smoke alarm went on for a while, we had to open our front door while cooking because the ventilation was not the best. But overall it was fine.

Nice car 🚙 hotel. There are all big and small beds in the room, and our family of 12 people live in and get what they need, comfortable and clean. The old couple take care of the hotel's daily life, warm and thoughtful.
