Newly built hotel , France hotel chain , have all the basics , good comfy bed , clean hot shower , good variety of breakfast . Easy to take tram ( yellow line) to Porto Ribeira area , Sao bento train station etc . Opposite there’s shopping mall with food court .
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I always choose Ibis because I know what to expect, everything is predictable: service, staff, amenities, cleanliness. This hotel is very conveniently located in the historic center; I hardly used public transportation, everything is within walking distance. The breakfast was good, everything I needed. I was pleasantly surprised by the decaf coffee and plant-based milk. The pastries and fruit were also good. The only thing I would have liked was more vegetables. But if you need anything, you can buy everything at the supermarket located at the hotel entrance.
By the way, this is a great way to save money for budget travelers. The supermarket has a prepared food section where you can buy and eat right there. They make a variety of dishes, omelets, salads, and drinks, even wine in small bottles. I missed some greens, so I bought a salad at the store (there's a huge selection) and ate dinner there. I recommend trying it at least once.
The Bolt app (like our Uber) works in the city, and I also recommend it.
Overall, I really liked the hotel. The receptionist was pleasant and they checked me in in the morning (I had written in advance that I would arrive early). Very grateful!) ❤️ Thank you very much!
I would have loved to have given this place 5/5 stars for everything but as soon as we arrived, the noise from outside was very loud, upon bringing it to the attention of the staff, they said they ”fixed the door” as it was a very large patio door but the sound was still as if we were camping outside. I managed to live with this but the rooms television was also boy possible to connect any outside devices and the Netflix just wouldn't launch which we were told it is what it is with the TV. The thing that annoyed me the most was the fact that you have to pay to use the swimming pool that they so elegantly advertise in their photos. As an extremely regular traveller, this was an absolute first for me and really didn't make any sense to me. Otherwise the place was clean, and looked very nice. Parking was 20 euros per night which was actually more expensive than hiring the car but I guess they charge for location.
Ficámos muito agradados com a nossa estadia. Limpeza impecável, hotel acolhedor, ambiente jovem e confortável.
Facilidade na marcação e no check in online.
Business hotel that lack the human touch. Recep was cold and not smiling, which was a pity for such a nice hotel. Phone auto buttons not working and aircon not working too. Had to walk to recep and ask for help. Breakfast was good though
Situated on the edge of a touristy district, but near areas that felt more authentic and lived in by locals. They were very nice at the desk. We were happy the room had a fridge and coffee machine. The design and colors were pleasing and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again with my husband, but opt for a larger room next time. The room was cramped. Coat hooks near the door would have been useful.
We booked a junior suite and asked to be put on a high floor. However, we got assigned the ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, making the room quite dark. And the lighting inside the room did not help either since most of the lights were directed light. We have asked for a change of room but was told its not available. The room is on the ground floor close to the lobby and the restaurant. When we asked to change the room, I have expressed my concern that it would be noisy and the front desk agent assured me that it would not be the case. Then on New Year's Eve, they have a party in the restaurant with very loud music. And the sound obviously leaked into our room, and the party lasted till the small hours.
The selection of food items at breakfast is quite limited. Its really quite mediocre compared with other hotels in this category. The only saving grace for this hotel is its location.
The hotel's location is good, and the rooms are generally clean. The staff are friendly, but the unfriendly ones are unfriendly. The desserts at the dinner at the first-floor restaurant were the best. The meat had a ***** smell.
The location is very centralised, making it extremely convenient to walk to the nearby attractions. We got upgraded to a room with a balcony which was lovely, and everything else about the room was just about perfect too. Super well upkept, maybe cos it’s relatively new too but the bathroom was very clean with zero mold spots. Water pressure was strong while the wifi and aircon / heater worked well. The only con was that the basin seemed a little choked with the water going down pretty slowly, but it wasn’t a major issue for us.
The room is clean, breakfast don’t have much options but is still acceptable, location is a bit far from the city center and the river side but you can go by bus to the center, the station is just in front of the hotel entrance and cost you 2.5 Euro, otherwise you can grab a uber, is also very convenient and more cheaper if you are travelling with 3-4 persons. The only thing that admired me why a lot of people choose this hotel is because they have a very big outdoor parking and is completely free of charge. I was driving a car and in Porto if you want to find a hotel with car parks is a bit difficult, if have, they need to get paid and the public car parks inside the city are extremely expensive. I did some research and this is the only hotel with the biggest car park in the area and completely free of charge, so if you are driving this hotel is the best choice. Also the staff (trainee) who helped me to do the check in is very nice 👍🏻
