"My stay was overall great, the room looked good and comfortably accommodated 3 persons with the bed, sofa bed area, the nice kitchen with a big fridge and appliances, and the bathroom was big and looked great.
The staff were great and very accommodating, very friendly and helpful in every way.
My only complaint would be the lack of insect control. I believe it’s due to the high door that insects can easily crawl under and get inside. Numerous small insects, mosquitoes and even a small lizard at one point were found in the room (compliments to the male front desk worker who came and tried helping to remove the lizard that night). Also cobwebs and dust (minimal) in the ceiling and on the surfaces of high appliances respectively. Seems as though the room I got hadn’t been used in awhile.
But overall a wonderful stay."
GGuest UserHonestly, I had underestimated this accommodation because of the rate, but yes, I was wrong. The cleanliness is incredible, absolutely spotless, and the customer service is just as good. From the moment I arrived, the attention from Yajaira, the staff at the adults-only bar, and the snack bar made my solo trip delightful. And what can I say, I got to enjoy a spectacular beach... If you're used to trips with a gourmet dining experience, this isn't your place, but otherwise, it was very good. 💫
HHeather TrentThe majestic elegance is beautiful!!! Very clean, rooms are very nice.
The average rating was because we paid extra for “Elegance club” adult only. This was our 29th anniversary and we wanted it to be kid free. We searched for a hotel that had adult only amenities. When we showed up at the hotel they told us those rooms were sold out in the adult only section. That was disappointing since we paid for that section. We were still able to use the amenities but they were two buildings away. We booked months in advance so that was disappointing. They did give us a voucher for $200.00. To be used towards a $360.00 massage. But we would have loved the room in adult only section instead. The drinks were great! The food average. Entertainment average. The staff-some were great but I would say around 90% don’t even acknowledge you with even a hello. Overall though the place is beautiful! The pools are well maintained and had a great vacation overall.
GGuest UserBeautiful place to stay, but the service in front desk is not friendly, the guys who work there don’t have a good service attitude, I got a really bad time trying to get check out lat because my flight was delayed and we needed a place to stay, definitely I think this hotel has many good things except the front desk staff
GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Grand Bavaro Princess Resort in Punta Cana for 4 nights, and unfortunately my experience was extremely disappointing due to a THEFT.
After returning home, I discovered that jewelry I had carefully stored inside a pouch within my makeup and skincare bag was missing. These were not items left out in the open — they were placed בתוך my personal belongings, which indicates that someone went through my things.
During my stay, my sunglasses also disappeared. At the time, I assumed I had misplaced them and even checked with Lost & Found, but nothing was reported. Given what I discovered later, I now believe those were stolen as well.
This situation is very distressing. Beyond the monetary value, the jewelry had sentimental importance as they were gifts. What is most concerning is the lack of security — guests should feel safe leaving their belongings in their room without fear of someone searching through their personal items.
I have contacted the hotel and requested an investigation, but I want to make other travelers aware of this experience.
I strongly recommend exercising caution if staying at this resort.

GGuest UserWe had such a positive experience at this hotel that we decided to book it again for our last night in the Dominican Republic. The resort is peaceful, featuring saltwater pools, private sea access via a ladder, and crystal-clear waters. A special thanks to Elisabeth, who made us feel right at home and handled our requests with great flexibility and positivity. Breakfast is not a buffet but à la carte, with excellent quality. Amazing sunsets! The location is strategic for visiting Dominicus and Bayahibe. We would definitely return if given the opportunity.
IIndhujaWent to Bahia because we had a moderately nice experience in Mexico. This one was a very uncomfortable one for us mainly because of the people and the food. We felt hunger many times in this ”all-inclusive” hotel. The restaurants serve mediocre food, in small quantities, with least authenticity and does not invoke any feeling on consumption. We ate at the restaurant and then also to the buffet to feel a bit full, but the buffet equally lacks real food with low quality vegetables & fruits and just badly made food that looks un-appetising as well. If you're someone who loads up of meat and alcohol, this place might be for you. Sadly not for us, and at the end of our 5 day stay, we felt very depressed, glad to leave and our taste-buds were dead.
The rooms were large and clean, some parts were dated and the bathroom did not have a door to shield from the AC, which was weird. The beach was a great positive to our otherwise hugely disappointing stay. Made us doubt going to all-inclusive hotels ever again, would definitely not recommend.

MMatt2The complex is nice and the rooms are comfy.
I sent an email with some questions / request a week before arrival and they never replied.
The food quality wasn't great, my father got intoxicated with something there and we also found a piece of hair in the food. Some people were a bit rude. Zero options for gluten free. The reception and cafes are far from the rooms so you need to take a minibus which is not confortable. Restaurants were always fully booked but they looked empty when walking around.
GGuest User⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional stay – highly recommended!
We had an amazing stay at Hotel Alkquimia. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel, spotlessly clean and elegantly designed, with a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.
The location is absolutely ideal — very central, safe, and literally close to everything. You can walk everywhere, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The rooftop pool is absolutely lovely — perfect for unwinding, with a great vibe and a very pleasant setting. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and a great way to start the day.
The ladies at the reception were amazing: warm, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Their kindness truly made our stay even better.
Our room was cleaned daily and was always sparkling clean. The layout was comfortable and stylish, and the bathroom was modern and impeccably maintained.
Overall, Alkquimia was an outstanding experience, and we highly recommend it. We would happily stay here again!
