Good hotel. Area is a bit dodgy (Arena still has plenty of Keleti area homeless people), though it is well connected with M2 metro station right outside. Good breakfast. Good gym. Water facilities so-so: drainage in room shower slow, swimming pool/sauna not the most fresh looking. Overall recommended if price is right.

A large busy tourist class hotel, a little dated but comfortable enough  3 small lifts, 2 working  Stuffy room . Hot sunny day in late October but air con in room disabled and only heating available, at least you could open the window. Great location for driving access from motorways, easy public transport or uber/bolt access to the city, €15 parking was the best I could find. Breakfast very busy but not bad.

Continental Comfort in Budapest 🏩 For €260 a night 💶, the “junior suite” delivers big on comfort — a bed you’ll melt into 🛏️, pillows with personality, and a breakfast omelette 🍳 that could win awards. The staff are genuinely lovely 😊, and the building itself has a historic glass dome that makes you stop and stare. Not everything hit the mark — the “wellness centre” (a sauna that’s more lukewarm hug than steamy escape 🧖♂️) and toiletries that smell like disappointment. Luxury touches didn’t quite sparkle, yet the space was clean, practical, and restful 😌. Final Score: 4/6 Pickles 🥒 How the Pickle score is calculated: P: Price & Value for Money I: Infrastructure & Integrity (well-maintained) C: Comfort & Practicality K: Kindness & Staff Attitude (& Love 🩷) L: Luxury & Little Touches (things that elevate) E: Experience (Overall feel, location & livability) @pickle.eat.travel

We had a great stay at Lion’s Garden Hotel! The pool and spa area felt like a private escape—we practically had it all to ourselves. The staff were friendly, and the hotel strikes a perfect balance between elegance and coziness, offering all the right amenities without breaking the bank. Plus, it’s pretty central, making it easy to explore many of Budapest’s top attractions. Would definitely stay here again!

The rooms were a little dingy and some mould and stains on grout, true to what other reviewers mentioned. However, apart from wear and tear, the hotel has tried to keep it clean and serviceable. Overall, it felt well loved, but was clearly a shadow of its past glory. Needs some tlc and a lot of refurbishment. The gantry doesn’t work, so you must walk out to the gantry to meet your cab. However staff were inordinately helpful and kind at the front desk. The breakfast was incredibly varied and delicious. Room was spacious - with every convenience, fridge, tv, iron. Only problem is no main heater in the bedroom - so it got chilly quite fast. Anyway I would stay again next time when in Budapest, the location has good access to tram line and the staff are kind.

All round the Corinthia Budapest is a great hotel with good prices and excellent service from very friendly employees throughout the hotel. Excellent spar. Relaxed lounge areas. The bedroom on fifth floor was very nice clean and comfortable. The heating system is set at a high temperature which can become quite uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Loved the Christmas decorations and Christmas Sunday brunch with free flowing beverages.  Very tasty food in the restaurant. The only issues we would highlight is the problem with the hotel being so big that the breakfast restaurant gets very crowded with delayed self service causing the food to become cold by time you sit down. This is also due to many guests leaving the Bain Marie food service warmer lids open as they are rushing to get food. Also the coffee is machines are not good quality or require servicing as the coffee was warm or cold once milk or cream was added. This was the case everyday over 5 days we never got a hot coffee.  Hot food and drinks are very important and this was unfortunately the only let down during our stay.  Hence the reason for a lower review score.  Aside from this I would recommend the hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, but the highlight was definitely the view. From my window, I could see the majestic Buda Castle and the river — a truly stunning sight both during the day and beautifully lit at night. It made my stay feel extra special and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Budapest who wants a mix of comfort and breathtaking scenery.

Clean room, great breakfast buffet, nice pools. The only downside may be the distance to the center of Budapest but bus stations are close enough. So calculate around 25 minutes. Recommended.

Everything about the hotel was quite reasonable. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, the ingredients were good quality and it tasted nice. However, the service could be improved. We arrived around 7 AM to check-in and drop off our luggage. When we returned to the hotel at 2 PM, the front desk told us we'd have to wait until 3 PM. So, I told them we'd be sitting on the sofa nearby and to let us know when our room was ready. Between 2:30 PM and 3 PM, they continued to check in other guests. After 3 PM, since no one had informed me, I assumed the room wasn't ready. It wasn't until around 3:20 PM, when I went to the front desk to ask, that I discovered the room had been ready for a while, but they simply hadn't told me. The waiting area sofa was less than two meters directly in front of the front desk, and they had been aware of our presence the entire time but never notified us.

GGuest UserEverything was great. The bathroom was separate and the room was beautiful with a beautiful view. The staff were friendly and cheerful, and the service was excellent. The food was good and of high quality. The restaurant staff were very friendly and cheerful. If I come here myself, I will definitely come back. I was very impressed. The service was excellent and the location was very convenient. I really liked this place. I would recommend it. You won't be disappointed. ❤️

GGuest UserFor the price I paid, I expected better. The facilities felt standard and the island itself offered nothing special for me. The facial was just okay, though I did have good experiences with the massage and mud wrap services. Breakfast looked fantastic, but unfortunately the taste didn’t live up to the presentation. During my trip, I stayed at four different hotels across Budapest. This was the most expensive, yet it’s the one I would rate the lowest.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff were incredibly friendly and professional, from the moment we arrived at the hotel entrance, through check-in, and all the way to check-out and luggage handling. Every service was polite and attentive. The hotel breakfast was quite rich, with à la carte options, and the fruit was delicious. The room size was quite large for European standards, and housekeeping was prompt and thorough. The only minor drawback was that the shower facilities in the room were a bit old-fashioned and the drainage wasn't great.

GGuest UserExcellent hotel, the staff in general, both receptionists, waiters and maids are very friendly and helpful, the room is very comfortable, the bed is very comfortable. The location is very good, very central with all the facilities within walking distance. The breakfast is small but excellent, very complete with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and typical Hungarian food options. The pool is great, heated and with long hours (open until 10:00 p.m.). After a long day it's wonderful to be able to take a bath. 100% recommendable

GGuest UserI really enjoyed this hotel. I chose the room with a little kitchenette, but a daily buffet breakfast was also available. There’s also an Aldi’s ( supermarket) next door, which was a nice surprise. The garden was lovely, each staff person I encountered was the was kind and welcoming. I was able to use the laundry room for free. There was an indoor pool that looked nice, but I didn’t use it. The neighbourhood was quiet and there were convenience stores, restaurants and coffee shops a short walk away. It’s also just five minute walk to a subway/tram/or bus stations. I highly recommend this hotel and hope I’ll have a chance to go back and stay there again.
