Absolutely a 5-star review! It's very close to the JR station. The guy at the front desk was incredibly thorough, helping with travel advice and even translating Chinese attractions into Japanese so I could find them on G-Maps. Breakfast was outstanding, with many ingredients sourced from Oita. The large public bath on the rooftop was also great, offering a fantastic viewing spot and an excellent place to watch the sunrise 🌅. Staying in Beppu this time and exploring nearby was definitely the right choice.
Hello, everyone!
We recently stayed at this hotel, and the experience was mixed — there are some nice touches, but also noticeable shortcomings.
**Room:**
The room was spacious but clearly outdated; furniture and interior look worn. The ventilation works, yet it still feels quite stuffy inside. It would be great if the hotel improved air-conditioning or installed mosquito screens: the sea view is beautiful, but opening the window isn’t an option because of too many insects.
**Facilities & Service:**
The only real extras are massage service and a shared onsen. There’s no gym, pool, or other activities — the hotel is designed for quiet relaxation. A shuttle service is available, which is convenient, but if you miss it, getting to the hotel on your own can be quite difficult. During this stay the hotel was quite busy, and it often took a long time to catch the elevator to our floor.
**Dining:**
Breakfast and dinner can be pre-booked; the food was tasty and varied. The bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with a decent drink selection, and in the evening the lobby lounge opens with alcoholic drinks and light snacks — a nice way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
**Location:**
The property faces Beppu Bay, yet the seaside feeling is limited — there are few walking areas nearby, and due to insects it’s hard to enjoy the open air.
**Overall:**
A good option for a calm, onsen-style getaway with decent food and polite staff, but when the hotel is crowded, the lack of facilities and outdated rooms become more noticeable. With some modernization and better infrastructure, this could be an excellent resort.
This hotel is an annex of AMANEK YULA-RE, granting guests access to the main building's 16th-floor public bath (onsen) and 17th-floor outdoor infinity pool and Jacuzzi.
**Pros:**
1. **Excellent Location:** It's just a 5-minute walk from the JR station, the bus stop for Fukuoka, and the bus stop for the Beppu Hells. The Fukuoka-bound bus station (located near a shopping mall) is also conveniently reachable within a 10-minute walk.
2. **Stunning Infinity Pool:** The infinity pool offers breathtaking views, including Beppu Tower, and is perfect for photos. Unfortunately, it rained heavily during my stay, so it was deserted during the day. The operating hours are quite reasonable, covering most of the day during my visit.
3. **Impressive Lobby & Dining:** The main building's lobby boasts an impressive design. Dining options are available on the first floor, and at 3300 JPY (approximately 160 RMB), the price is quite reasonable, comparable to what you'd expect at a star-rated hotel in China.
4. **Convenient Amenities & Services:** Shower caps and other amenities are available for collection at the front desk. Luggage storage is also provided.
5. **Spacious & Quiet Rooms:** Rooms are spacious. The hotel is quiet, ensuring a very good night's sleep.
Love this place! Our glamping experience was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well everything was set up. The tent was spacious, cozy, and beautifully furnished, with all the comforts of a hotel room but surrounded by nature.
The location was perfect—nestled in nature with stunning views and just the right amount of seclusion for a peaceful escape. We were thrilled to find a campfire pit for cozy evenings, even though the rain meant we couldn’t use it. The sound of raindrops on the tent was surprisingly relaxing, though!
The first thing that impressed me about my stay was the excellent service. All the staff were very kind, polite, and warm, making my stay feel at ease.
The hotel is a little far from the station, but the surrounding area is very quiet, making it perfect for those looking for work or quiet time.
The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept well. However, there were a few things that bothered me. First, I could hear footsteps from the floor above, so I felt like the soundproofing wasn't very good. Also, for some reason, the bathroom smelled like stale wastewater, which was disappointing.
All in all, the hotel offers good value for money and is highly recommended, especially for those looking for a comfortable, quiet environment.
The room was well-equipped and comfortable, which made our stay pleasant. The location was also a big plus—conveniently close to several restaurants and a shopping mall, making it easy to find food and enjoy some shopping.
Breakfast was satisfying with a good variety, and it gave us a great start to the day.
Overall, I’m happy I chose this hotel. While there were a few downsides, the positives definitely made the stay worthwhile.
Do note that it is outskirts of hiji, driving at night is quite quiet. The hotel doesn’t have private bath in the room so do take note as showering will be shared under traditional public bath house. Family bath house is available for booking only, which the staff let us use it during the two nights there. Thank you for the great service!
Hotel facilities, environment, service attitude, food,
They are all over five stars.
The only drawback is that the location is not very convenient.
Because it takes 6 to 10 minutes to walk from the station.
Would more recommend self-drive tour more convenient!
If you would choose one night two meals,
I really have to solemnly explain to everyone.
Request at Gahama's own Japanese restaurant. Kappo Matsuhide.
This Japanese restaurant is super delicious, the service attitude is super good!
And the other building. Harumi. Japanese cuisine. Xuan. really bad
The staff service attitude is very good, but eat more hastily.
The food cooking tastes also relatively poor! Choose carefully!

It's exactly the same as the picture.
I was a little worried because there were no reviews,
but it's a bit of an ambiguous distance to walk from Yufuin Station,
but the facilities were very clean and the owner responded quickly.
There were dishes and cooking utensils, and it was possible to bring dogs, so there were dog pads and pet supplies on one side. The private room had hot water 24 hours a day, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The four of us, my mother-in-law, my wife, and my baby, went there and had a great rest.

GGuest UserMake this the place to stay when you’re in Yufuin! We didn’t expect our room to be so spacious (think of it more as you private little house on the premises) and beautiful, and the service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond for us and helped us with whatever question we had (and even helped us call tourist information centers). The staff member that served us our dinner was especially great! The food was equally amazing. The location is not far from the city although we recommend to come by car as it’s a bit of a walk from the station and up the hill. However even that walk would be worth it. Would definitely book again next time I plan on staying in this area!
HHulalakaihuaFacilities: Grand and luxurious
Cleanliness: Satisfactory
Ambiance: Fantastic
Service: Impeccably managed
This place is truly a paradise, a real wonderland! It felt ethereal with gentle wisps of white mist drifting everywhere. We paid extra to upgrade to a large suite, offering stunning views of the distant harbor.
As soon as we pulled up the hotel's driveway, valet parking was immediately available. Among the staff, one of the valet attendants was a very handsome French guy with an exceptional service mindset. Another staff member, a tall Black gentleman (around 2 meters), even knelt down to enthusiastically explain the room types and hotel facilities to us. We were genuinely impressed and touched by their passionate service. We will definitely be returning for another stay!
The hotel's dining options are also excellent – highly recommend trying them out!
