MM28434**** 2026.01.03
I chose Wyndham again this year because of my pleasant stay during New Year's Day last year. However, the service this time, at the same time of year, was vastly different. First, the front desk handling check-in clearly ignored my special requests. As a result, when I got to the room, I found that the room I booked was the exact opposite of what I requested. Furthermore, the so-called 'lake view' room only offered a view of large trees (Picture 1). If the hotel didn't have the requested room, shouldn't the front desk have informed the guest? Secondly, I don't think Wyndham accurately estimated the number of guests for breakfast. The entire breakfast restaurant was incredibly noisy, no different from a wet market. I can understand this, as it's a holiday and there are many people. But while people were eating, those coming in would just stand next to others' tables, which I imagine was frustrating for both those trying to eat and those looking for a table. The restaurant staff's instructions for seating guests were also unclear (Picture 3). This is because there were actually dining areas on the other side of the restaurant, but they were in a sunken area and hard for guests to notice. As for the auntie at the rice noodle roll station, I wonder if she wasn't getting paid or wasn't trained, because she wore an unpleasant expression for all to see. If you can't give an extra portion according to policy, you can explain it nicely, because guests might not have seen the notice. But being confrontational with guests only causes anger, especially when the dining atmosphere is already so frustrating! In other hotels, staff are attentive to special families and even offer assistance, but despite Wyndham's high room rates, the service falls short. The breakfast selection was very ordinary, very ordinary, and with so many people, the queues for the limited made-to-order stations were incredibly long. The experience was very poor, and I didn't end up eating much anyway. Thirdly, the five-star Wyndham clearly has very poor preparedness for its guest traffic during holidays. As the weather turned cold that evening, and the forecast had warned of it, which everyone knew, many families with children needed extra blankets. However, the blanket I requested half an hour ago wasn't delivered. Finally, after I called to follow up, they said there were no blankets, and it took another hour for the requested items and a bedsheet (which was better than nothing) to arrive. In short, this stay was very unpleasant. A big-brand hotel is still inferior to a guesthouse!

First time at New World, and it was a truly fantastic experience! To be honest, when I used to travel, I always liked to be out and about, and I wasn't really a fan of staying in the hotel. But this was my first staycation, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was to just relax at the hotel! I went to the hot springs four times in two days, and it wasn't crowded at all, which was really nice. The breakfast was great too! The whole hotel's style and aesthetics are superb; I really enjoyed my stay here, and it's not too far from Shenzhen, so I can definitely come back more often in the future. 😎 Our butler, Mati, also provided excellent service, sharing and reminding us about breakfast, dinner, and nearby entertainment. Very satisfied!

Huge thanks to the front desk staff for patiently helping me switch rooms. I had some personal preferences for the room, and they did their best to accommodate them, even upgrading my room, which was wonderful. However, the bed was quite firm, and the duvet cover fabric felt a bit stiff and rough to the touch, not very smooth. I wonder if it's an issue from washing? As for the wet and dry sauna experience: I didn't dare go into the pool because there was no lifeguard present.

I had a wonderful stay at Hengqin Bay this time. The parking lot was spacious and well-lit, with dedicated staff managing it, making parking and retrieval super convenient. As soon as I entered the lobby, I was impressed by its openness, with high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows providing excellent natural light. The modern minimalist decor looked clean and sophisticated. Check-in at the front desk was quick and professional, with friendly staff, making the whole process very smooth. The internet in the room was an even bigger surprise; the signal was full and very stable, perfect for streaming videos or gaming without any lag. During the day, the guest room was brightly lit and felt spacious, with cozy decor. The floors were so clean you could walk barefoot. The mattress had just the right firmness for me, and the pillows were fluffy yet supportive, ensuring two nights of truly restful sleep. The bathroom was the highlight of this experience. The towels and bath sheets were thick, soft, and highly absorbent. The shampoo cleaned effectively without leaving my hair dry. Thoughtfully, bath salts were provided, and a soak in the tub relieved more than half of my fatigue. The toiletries were clean, and the toothbrush bristles were just the right softness. The faucet had a smooth and gentle flow, and the bathtub was pristine. The shower experience was particularly excellent: hot water came out instantly, and the water pressure was strong and stable, making it incredibly refreshing. The bathroom also had effective wet/dry separation and felt spacious, not cramped. From check-in to check-out, every aspect felt effortless and thoughtful. It was a very satisfying stay, and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! Great value for money, and the cleaning lady was so warm and welcoming. She not only greeted me but also asked if I needed any help, which was really thoughtful. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft and comfortable – I slept like a baby. The hotel definitely has that authentic British charm. The front desk staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to answer any questions. There's even a coffee shop on the first floor, and they gave me a free coffee voucher, which tasted amazing! The hotel's location is super convenient too, perfect for shopping, dining, and close to the subway station. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

Staying at the Sofitel Le Louvre, I was completely charmed by Nicole from the Guest Relations team in the lobby! She was smiling the entire time, proactively helped me with my luggage, took many photos for me, and thoroughly explained the hotel's facilities. When I was checking out, I was in a rush, and she thoughtfully arranged for me to use the express lane, completing everything in just a few minutes. Her professional and warm service made my trip exceptionally comfortable. I'll definitely be back!

This hotel is located right in Shamian Island, and parking is super convenient. Check-in is on the second floor, and you can step right out onto Shamian Island from the first floor – perfect for photos and sightseeing! The dim sum at the hotel restaurant is also excellent. It's an older hotel, but it's incredibly well-maintained, spotless, and the service is absolutely fantastic. They even went above and beyond for my child's birthday, with the guest relations team being so thoughtful ❤️ They even gave my child a present 🎁 So incredibly considerate! Highly recommend! 👍🏻

Shenzhen is never short of top-tier hotels, providing excellent options for celebrating special occasions. As a local living in Futian District, I've experienced several notable hotels, including the Raffles in Nanshan, InterContinental in Dameisha, and Hilton, Sheraton, and Shangri-La in Futian. This time, for my husband's 70th birthday, we chose to stay at The St. Regis Shenzhen in Luohu for two nights. The hotel is located within the KK100 building, offering seamless access to Metro Lines 1 and 2 and KK MALL, making transportation incredibly convenient. Our stay was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all expectations. The hotel's environment, facilities, service, and cleanliness were all impeccable. The room was excellent value, spacious, bright, exquisitely clean, and equipped with high-end amenities. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The walk-in closet was a great feature. The bathroom was very large with a separate wet and dry area, and the double vanity is a true hallmark of a high-end five-star hotel. Housekeeping and turn-down service were meticulous and thoughtful. We also received welcome fruit. The hotel's service sets a benchmark; it's attentive to detail, comprehensive, and very personable. The staff at the concierge desk on the first floor and those at check-in on the 96th floor were all proactively polite, warm, and welcoming, leaving an excellent first impression. Both the male and female staff were attractive, highly professional, and spoke fluent English. A special shout-out to our room butler, JAY CHEN. He was handsome, polite, and incredibly nice. He proactively brought our luggage to the room, thoroughly explained the room facilities, and described the view from the window. He immediately brought the coffee and welcome fruit we requested. Upon learning it was my husband's birthday the next day, he promptly arranged and personally delivered a beautiful birthday cake on the actual day – a truly surprising, stunning, and touching gesture! Many thanks again to Butler JAY CHEN! The buffet breakfast and lunch on the 95th floor were both superb. For lunch, we were served hairy crab and typhoon shelter prawns at our table, which was absolutely amazing! Excellent value for money! The chefs in the restaurant were skilled and very polite, offering proactive service. The dishes were unique and tasted delicious. All the servers were courteous, swiftly clearing plates and tidying tables with keen eyes and quick hands. They were responsive to all requests and provided timely service. Whenever we encountered staff or management near or inside the elevators, they would proactively hold the door and assist with scanning cards and pressing floor numbers, which was a very heartwarming touch. We also received a small gift upon check-out. These small details show genuine warmth and make all the difference. Because we were so satisfied, we loved it. We will definitely be frequenting the buffet here and will choose this hotel first for future special occasions. I wholeheartedly recommend The St. Regis Shenzhen!

A special shoutout to Steven, the guest relations specialist, whose assistance made our stay incredibly enjoyable. The room was exceptionally comfortable, featuring a top-quality mattress that ensured a restful night’s sleep. We also loved the bathroom view—it added a lovely touch to our stay. The food in breakfast buffer was decent and we enjoyed a lot. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thank you for making our visit memorable! We booked 2 rooms for our family trip this time. Look forward for the next trip here again.

MM269691****The hotel's all-access pass is excellent value for money. Not only does it allow unlimited entry and exit from the park, but you also get an hour's early access, which means we could avoid the peak crowds and try all the popular attractions without wasting time queuing. The public areas are clean and tidy, and occasionally there are lobby dance performances. The performers are brilliant and fill the entire lobby with a joyful atmosphere. Getting to the Spaceship Park is super convenient too; the hotel offers a free shuttle service that runs on time and frequently. Plus, it's an indoor route all the way, so you don't have to worry about the weather. Our room even had toiletries and slippers specifically for kids, which was adorable. The hotel elevators are very fast, so you don't have to wait long, making going up and down very smooth. The concierge service was very thoughtful; they were meticulous when we stored our luggage, carefully recording all the details, which put us at ease. On a different note, I hope the hotel considers improving its food delivery service. Perhaps by installing delivery lockers or shelves. This would prevent delivery drivers from waiting too long and guests from having to walk a considerable distance from their room to the pick-up point, which currently leads to drivers waiting and delayed order deliveries.

GGuest UserThe Aranya YIN Hotel is located in the heart of the European Town area at the foot of the Jiulong Lake project. It's an all-suite hotel with a limited number of rooms, approximately ten, reportedly designed by a Korean designer. First, the rooms are spacious, with varying sizes and layouts for the same price of 50, 60, or 70 (this difference can be seen on the Aranya app). Second, the rooms are clean, with no obvious unhygienic spots. Third, the room comes with an Audio-Technica record player and one or two vinyl records (although they're Taylor Swift, which I'm not a big fan of). Thankfully, there's also a Marshall speaker with Bluetooth connectivity. There's also a complimentary tea set and tea leaves, and a Nescafe capsule coffee machine with four capsules. Fourth, its location in the heart of town, coupled with two French balconies, ensures a great view (see Figure 4). However, this experience also revealed some shortcomings: First, the signs were unclear. Cars are prohibited on the town's core streets, but there were no clear signs around the perimeter of the town. I had no idea where to park or the hotel entrance, and there was no staff to guide me. I could only grope around, gazing at the hotel's spire. Finally, after asking three town staff members driving electric carts, I was able to park in front of the Princess Hotel. Then, I dragged my suitcases through the Princess Hotel lobby before I found the YIN Hotel. Second, the room design and layout were strange. First, there was no TV. This also relates to my subsequent complaints about the service, which I'll discuss later. Actually, I hadn't considered a TV important at other hotels because I had various evening tours. But at Jiulong Lake, there were no cultural activities in the evening (which is a key characteristic of the Aranya brand). After diving in the sea and having two beers, I returned to my room at around 8:00 AM and realized there was no TV. It was a bit boring. Secondly, the shower had no sink or water barrier, so a lot of water flowed into the dry area of the bathroom. And this is a Korean designer? (See Figure 8). Third, the service experience was quite poor. These included: ① When checking in, I was on the first floor. My wife was in a hurry to get to the room, so I took the room card and went up first (thank you to the front desk for making this easy). Unexpectedly, the cleaning staff member who had been in the same elevator with my wife entered the room before us and headed straight for the bathroom. For some reason, they looked around and muttered, ”No one,” before leaving without even turning back. They didn't even explain to my wife, leaving me completely bewildered and nervous. As I went upstairs, my wife was nervously yelling, ”Who's there?” ② The lack of a TV in the room and the hotel's handling of the situation were even more surprising. We've also been to the Anaya Anlan Hotel in Beidaihe. Because the rooms are large and have a vertical living room design, a wall-mounted TV would be too far from the bed, so they built a low TV wall in the middle of the living room to accommodate the TV. Since I couldn't find a TV in my room at the YIN Hotel, I specifically checked the Ctrip website, which also mentioned basic amenities like a TV. After finding nothing, I called the front desk, which led to the most ridiculous experience of the time: The front desk succinctly stated that most rooms at this hotel didn't have TVs, with only a few family rooms having them. OK, while that didn't align with the hotel's promotional message (which emphasized audiovisuals and included a dedicated theater), I could accept that. If it didn't have one, then it didn't. But I asked the front desk, ”This hotel has been around for a while, haven't any customers complained about it being a basic feature like a TV?” The answer was no. Well, I can only assume this request is sufficiently personalized and age-appropriate. Still not giving up, I mentioned the Ctrip website listing and asked if I could use the theater. And then something magical happened: at 8:42 PM, I checked the Ctrip hotel page and saw ”LCD TV” (see Figure 5). At 8:53 PM, I followed the Ctrip page to get the hotel's phone number (see Figure 6). At 9:20 PM, I checked the hotel's Ctrip page again, and the ”LCD TV” listing had vanished (see Figure 7). Did the hotel ignore the customer's odd comments? Or did they care enough to revise the website overnight? I suspect the hotel, firstly, saw my poor experience and secondly, felt guilty about the equipment page issue. They sent staff to appease me twice, providing a bottle of fruit wine and snacks in the evening (we skipped the wine because we'd already had it in the sea, and had a packet of snacks). In the morning, they brought a packed breakfast (which consisted of bread and fruit). It's not uncommon for a 2,000 yuan suite to not include breakfast; many hotels charge different prices with or without breakfast, but the key point is that I couldn't book a room with breakfast in the first place). They also gave me an extra set of hotel toiletries when I left. We felt the staff's genuine desire for a good experience, but the Korean designer's lack of practicality and the hotel operator's overnight revisions to the website are truly lamentable. In summary, the YIN is a good place to stay, but there's still much room for improvement in both its hardware and software.

2205531****This has to be the best value-for-money five-star hotel in Guangzhou, it's absolutely fantastic! It's incredible that I could stay at an InterContinental property in a first-tier city for just a few hundred yuan during New Year's Day. Many of the negative reviews online are probably from people with overly high expectations. And for out-of-town visitors, it is indeed a bit out of the way; aside from the hotel, there isn't a single other dining option on the island, and even a convenience store requires a 1km walk. However, for a pure relaxation getaway, this place is truly amazing! 👍 The front desk even upgraded me to a suite, which was a fantastic perk! 👍 The breakfast offers a wide variety, and it was a pleasant surprise to see them offering pig trotters in ginger and vinegar for the first time, haha. The lobby is huge, but it's a bit funny that there isn't even a single sofa. The room's hardware is excellent. At night, you have a direct view of Zhujiang New Town, with the Canton Tower practically within reach, just across the river. The vibrancy and tranquility coexist without disturbing each other; I truly enjoyed this peaceful oasis in the midst of the bustling city. The toilet is smart but doesn't have a heating function, which I found a bit puzzling 🥲. The room is very spacious, but some corners show significant wear and tear, perhaps indicating it's a bit older? Overall, this was an incredibly good value experience, highly recommended!

MM2etjj824****This is the service standard a luxury hotel should have! From the moment the reservation was confirmed, a dedicated butler was in touch throughout, proactively confirming our needs and making thoughtful arrangements. For my birthday stay, not only was our room upgraded to a Deluxe Executive Room, but we also received a custom cake and embroidered pillowcases – full of delightful details. Although the room had a classic feel, it was impeccably maintained. The Frederic Malle amenities had a sophisticated scent, and the marble bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The 24-hour room service was incredibly prompt; extra water or pillows were delivered in an instant. The treatments at Yué Spa on the 8th floor were incredibly stress-relieving, with seven spacious treatment suites offering an immersive and relaxing experience. The hotel is a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city, perfectly suited for business trips, family vacations, or romantic getaways. I've already recommended it to all my friends who appreciate quality!

DDer1ckboTo be honest, my experience at Guangzhou MO this time wasn't very satisfying. We arrived at the hotel at 3:13 PM, and were told by the hotel staff that we couldn't check in because our room wasn't ready. So, my girlfriend and I went to grab a bite to eat. We returned to the hotel around 5 PM, only to be informed that we still needed to wait at the front desk as the room was still being finalized. This was a full two hours past the official check-in time of 3 PM. There were a few other issues as well. My requests on Ctrip for extra water and towels were not fulfilled. It also took 25 minutes for our luggage to be delivered to the room, during which my phone was critically low on battery, and there was nothing I could do. However, Guangzhou MO is, after all, an established hotel, and their service response is very prompt, with all staff members being very friendly and always smiling. The duty manager also responded quickly, which somewhat made up for the shortcomings. All in all, Guangzhou MO is still a hotel worth experiencing, and I hope they can improve on their drawbacks.
