The rooms are uniquely styled, clean, and hygienic, fully equipped with hand soap, hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The mini-fridge, tea, and coffee are all provided. The lobby's design is stunning, and the breakfast is rich and nutritious, with coffee and drinks that I really enjoy. I've been here six times already; whenever I need a getaway, this is where I think of. My entire family, young and old, loves it. It's less than a two-hour drive from Melbourne. GGuest UserI spent a long time choosing this hotel on the platform before my trip to Melbourne. The listing mentioned it was a new opening in December 2025, and the location looked fantastic – right next to Queen Victoria Market with tram stops just downstairs, making it super easy to get to all the attractions.
I was in Room 506. However, after checking in, I noticed two lights in the room weren't working, as shown in the picture. Since there's no main ceiling light, my friend and I had to rely on just one corridor light, three small desk lamps, and natural light from the window to get around the room. This made putting on makeup really inconvenient. The bathroom lighting was also quite warm-toned, and it felt a bit cramped with both of us trying to get ready in there.
The bedding was clean, which was good. But, we found leftover paper scraps from the previous guest in the rubbish bin, and there was even some product packaging left in the storage cabinet near the entrance.
The hotel appears to be a renovation, as the air conditioning control panel was yellowed and looked quite old.
It's worth noting this isn't a traditional hotel; it's a serviced apartment. I've previously stayed at serviced apartments from brands like Stey and Habyt on short-term rentals, and based on this experience, I feel lyf still has a lot of room for improvement.

Vvancy777The surroundings are excellent, and the location is convenient. The room was spacious and cleaned promptly. Room service was also very efficient; anything I needed was delivered quickly with just a phone call. I accidentally scraped my leg, and when I asked room service for some disinfectant, the hotel's medical staff came to my room to disinfect and bandage it, even thoughtfully asking how I got the scrape. The breakfast was exquisite, and the flat white truly is my favorite – I had it seven mornings in a row! The restaurant manager and staff were very warm and friendly, and their attire was elegant and neat. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserThe hotel staff were welcoming and ready to help. The hotel ammenities and location itself were perfect, from the pool there was a magnificent view of the sunset overlooking the city buildings. The charging ports in the room were practically placed, the beds were comfy, and the bathroom was modernly designed and spacious. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm, inviting, clean and modern, making its shared spaces comfortable to relax. Its convenient location allowed access to ”The District” on Docklands with a range of restaurants and shops alongside public transport. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, modern and enjoyable stay in Melbourne.

AAnonymous UserI didn't stay long due to an early morning flight, so I can't comment on much else. However, I specifically booked an airport shuttle bus at the front desk when I checked in. The front desk staff told me there was no need to book, and that a bus would be available at the time I wanted. But in the morning, when the bus arrived, I found out I needed to provide a reservation name and room number. Of course, they couldn't find my booking (because the front desk hadn't registered it at all). Although they let me on the bus because there weren't many people, it was a very unpleasant experience.

IIanPerfect stay. They reached out beforehand to check in with me. Arrived early and they allowed an early check in with a free upgrade. Room was spotless and well equipped. Kitchenette with all the equipment you'd need, small washing machine, free Netflix and impressive little touches like a free bottle of wine if you solve their Rubik's cube and a free packet of popcorn on request. Lounge is well equipped and breakfast was good (eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, some pastries and yoghurts, a waffle maker, juices, coffee and teas, etc.). Staff were always friendly. An excellent stay overall!

RRaquelBSimUnfortunately, my experience at Novotel Melbourne Central was quite disappointing, especially considering that I had a very positive experience at Novotel Sydney, where my daughter and I were treated with great kindness and hospitality.
I had an issue with the breakfast arrangement that was handled in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing way.
At check-in, I specifically asked to add breakfast for the three days of our stay. I explained that I am an ALL – Accor Live Limitless member and that I had received an email stating that ALL members would receive a discount on breakfast. The receptionist confirmed the benefit and also told me that my 11-year-old daughter would not be charged. I was informed that the total cost for breakfast for the three days would be AUD 56. I paid the amount at check-in and, naturally, assumed everything had been correctly arranged.
However, the following morning, when we went to breakfast, the staff member told me that breakfast was not included in my reservation. I explained that I had specifically added it during check-in and showed him the payment receipt from my card. Instead of simply checking the situation and resolving what was clearly a possible system or communication error, I was repeatedly questioned: who had checked me in, when I had become an ALL member, and whether I had any proof that breakfast had been added.
The whole situation was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. I had done exactly what was required at check-in, had paid for the breakfast, and had proof of the payment. Nevertheless, I felt as though my word was being questioned.
I explained that I would make a complaint. The staff member then reluctantly took down my room number and directed us to a table next to the service area, despite there being several vacant tables in the main dining area. This made the situation even more unpleasant.
I understand that mistakes can happen, particularly if there is an issue with the hotel system or communication between staff members. What I found unacceptable was the way the situation was handled. It gave me the impression that the staff may not have received adequate training on how to deal with guests when an operational error occurs. The appropriate approach would have been to acknowledge the possibility of a mistake, verify the payment and resolve the issue discreetly and courteously, rather than making the guest feel embarrassed or disbelieved.
Unfortunately, I also experienced problems with the cleanliness of the room. The bed was poorly made, the toilet and sink were clearly not properly cleaned, and a cup had been placed wet on the tray. These details contributed significantly to my overall negative impression of the hotel.
This was particularly disappointing because our experience at Novotel Sydney was excellent. We were welcomed warmly, treated very well and felt genuinely looked after throughout our stay. Unfortunately, our experience in Melbourne was very different.
I hope the hotel management will take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding staff training, guest communication and housekeeping standards. The issue could have been handled very differently and would have avoided turning a simple operational mistake into an unpleasant and embarrassing experience.

GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

2. **Environment:** The overall environment is excellent. There's a laundry room, and a separate restroom on the first floor that guests can use even after checking out. The location is also fantastic – just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, with a tram stop nearby. It's only a three or four stop ride to Flinders Street Station.
3. **Service:** The service was decent. I didn't encounter any Chinese-speaking staff, but basic English was sufficient.
4. **Facilities:** Everything else was great, except for the showerhead. The water pressure was very low, and it was a rainfall-style shower with a wide spray angle. For women under 180cm, it's hard to reach the water when it's initially strong, and by the time it reaches you, it's barely a drizzle. It made showering quite uncomfortable.

JjessssyzExceeded expectations! First off, the hotel's location is unbeatable. It's walking distance to the shopping district and Chinatown, and the amazing croissant shop Lune is right across the street. The room view was also fantastic, with an incredible night view – perfect for photos. The staff were all very warm and attentive. I'll definitely choose Grand Hyatt Melbourne again on my next visit.

I am very disappointed about the incident where we were charged for bottled water; we had previously asked Guest Services whether it was complimentary, and they confirmed that it was.One more thing: our room wasn't cleaned, even though we had turned on the ”make up the room” indicator.
