Service: The front desk was excellent, even upgrading me directly to a duplex suite. There are a lot of Russians at this hotel, so I felt like the foreigner! It was like receiving VIP treatment. Plus, perhaps because of the Russian clientele, breakfast runs until noon, which is fantastic for late risers and vacationers – a proper brunch situation! Of course, with such late breakfast hours, the spread isn't overly extensive, more like a good 4-star plus standard.
Cleanliness: The suite's cleanliness was decent. The hotel provided mosquito coils and repellent. I was confused about it during the day, but I understood why at night.
Ambiance: It's an older hotel, hard to rate, but the value for money is very high.
Facilities: Hard to evaluate. On one hand, it’s surprisingly well-equipped with a full-sized double bathtub, two bathrooms in the duplex suite, twin beds, and good soundproofing. On the other hand, it has that dated feel, and the projector screen for the attic projector was already worn out. But, credit where credit is due, the idea of a projector in the attic is quite clever. The gym was under maintenance. As for the pool, you need to be brave and unbothered by the Russians – if I'm not awkward, they are!

The hotel definitely stands out as the face of Ocean Flower Island. It's located right at the entrance to the island, and its iconic twin towers are truly magnificent, offering a visual feast without even needing to leave the building. Plus, the hotel's location is super convenient.
**Facilities:** The room was incredibly spacious and bright, with a modern minimalist design. The facilities were very new, the bedding was pristine and comfortable, and the cleanliness was spotless. The bathroom was also very large, and the separate wet and dry areas were a thoughtful touch.
**Service:** We checked in around noon on March 11th. The front desk lady was exceptionally warm and professional, making the check-in process efficient. She also thoughtfully provided us with a guide to exploring the island and even upgraded our room. A special thank you to the front desk lady for her service, and the bellhops were also fantastic.

February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room
During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island.
1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking.
2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness!
3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus.
4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich.
5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it.
6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training.
In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate.
Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images.
During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster.
On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings.
What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip.
The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

The environment here is really good, small but beautiful. The staff are all very friendly and don't seem like they're just going through the motions. We were in room 915, and the interior design was excellent; my family loved it. I have two suggestions for improvement:
1. You can hear loud conversations in the hallway very clearly from inside the room. Perhaps guests could be reminded about this during check-in. It's a matter of guest etiquette (some people were even smoking in the hallway).
2. The free electronic games in the kids' game room are great, but it would be even better if there were more non-screen play facilities, as too much screen time isn't good for kids' eyes. Things like a ball pit or a basketball hoop game would be perfect. Also, there weren't quite enough building blocks.
Overall, it's excellent value for money, and the price was fantastic!

We chose Pullman for our last day, and overall it was decent. Check-in was a bit slow; they said our room wasn't ready yet. I had ordered takeout for lunch, intending to eat it at the Haagen-Dazs area, as there were no signs indicating outside food wasn't allowed. However, a staff member told us to leave. With my child and elderly parents, and my parents having difficulty walking, we had to carry our food and rush to another lounge area, which felt very awkward and was a particularly bad experience.
The room's cleanliness was fine. We stayed on the 7th floor in a full ocean view room, and the view was great for watching the sunset. It's only a 5-minute walk to the beach, accessible via an underpass with elevators. The sand is very fine and different from Yalong Bay's, though it's a public beach and not as clean as Yalong Bay. Still, it was good for kids to play in the sand and run around. My child absolutely loved the indoor playground; it was much cleaner than the one at our previous hotel. They have a heated swimming pool and provide swim rings, which was a great experience. Around 4 PM, there's a foam party, and my child had so much fun they didn't want to leave.
The hotel is very close to the airport, but once you close the sliding door, you hardly hear any plane noise. All in all, aside from the poor attitude of the Haagen-Dazs staff, everything else was excellent. I plan to stay here again next time. This is a purely voluntary review; the butler didn't ask me for a good rating.

Facilities: This five-star hotel boasts comprehensive and luxurious facilities. The large balcony with a bathtub, lounge chair, and table is a thoughtful touch. The linens are of excellent quality and very comfortable. However, the toiletries could use an upgrade. The breakfast buffet is rich, varied, and delicious, featuring Hainanese specialties. Dishes and drinks are replenished promptly, which is a big plus! 👍
Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy! 👍
Environment: Both the interior and exterior environments are excellent! It really has a holiday vibe. The hotel offers very convenient and close access to the beach and seawall, and it's clean and not crowded.
Service: The front desk and housekeeping staff are well-trained. They actively greet guests and respond to guest requests promptly and proactively. A huge thumbs up! 👍

The guesthouse has a great environment, and the room was clean and well-equipped. The front desk staff were super nice, providing attentive and enthusiastic service. I stayed for a few days and it was really good. The location is easy to find, and it's convenient for getting around. I had a very comfortable stay and it offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Spring has arrived, and this was our first stop in Hainan. The vintage-style Sheraton didn't disappoint! The parking lot and interior landscaping were excellent, really setting a tropical coconut grove vibe that made us feel comfortable the moment we walked in. The security guard at the entrance was very welcoming, and the front desk staff were incredibly polite. Connie, in particular, was very thoughtful and proactively arranged a late check-out for us! We'll definitely be back if we get the chance to return.

YYuanshandayanFacilities: The pool is clean with crystal-clear water, and there's a bubble show in the afternoon which the kids absolutely loved.
Cleanliness: The public restrooms are clean and regularly maintained.
Environment: The hotel has a villa area. Taking a stroll by the lake after dinner was very pleasant.
Service: The front desk service was excellent. Due to my own mistake, I booked two nights with twin beds and two nights with a king bed. The front desk staff directly helped us keep our original room, so we didn't have to move. For our late flight, the concierge, Gina, directly arranged a late check-out until 4 PM, which I genuinely appreciate as it saved us a lot of hassle during our trip! The rooms are great, the pool is fantastic, and it's close to the beach. What's even better are the hotel's restaurants. We tried the coconut chicken and Zao Po Cu (vinegar soup) at the Chinese restaurant – very authentic and excellent ingredients! For my child's birthday, we went to the Hai Lan Western buffet. They not only upgraded us to a better table but also specially arranged birthday decorations and a cake! During the mermaid show, they even prepared a birthday banner for us. The emotional value provided was just perfect! It was a very satisfying trip, and I would definitely choose this hotel again, as both the hardware and software are excellent!
GGuest UserChoosing the Wanda Realm Resort Haitang Bay was absolutely worth it! The location is superb, with lush greenery throughout the property, and it's very close to the beach. There are seafood stalls and convenience stores nearby, and getting a taxi to attractions is super convenient. Here, the clear blue sea and sky are right before your eyes; watching the sunrise paint the sea red in the morning and listening to the waves accompanied by the sunset glow in the evening – every moment is breathtaking. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet. The public areas feature an outdoor pool and a children's playground, and the beach area provides umbrellas and sun loungers. The service is incredibly warm too; the Guest Relations department proactively offered suggestions for local activities, and the housekeeping auntie refilled our mineral water daily, always ready to assist with any request. It was such a comfortable and pleasant stay, definitely a top choice for a vacation!
GGuest UserThe room was spacious and very comfortable, giving off a true vacation vibe. The view was excellent, and the balcony was wide and bright with a very comfortable sofa. The service was attentive, and our butler, Bobby, was exceptionally good! He made my short stay so pleasant and worry-free! He responded to messages promptly and resolved issues quickly and efficiently! I've stayed at almost all the well-known good hotels in Sanya, ranging from 1k+ to 4k per night, and the InterContinental was a truly unexpected surprise! It offers incredibly high value for money! If I had to find a fault, it would be that the soundproofing from the hallway near the door was a bit lacking, but the bedding was so comfortable that I slept soundly until I naturally woke up!
AAnonymous UserThe room was fantastic! A day before check-in, the butler helped me book the room I wanted. The public areas are also great and very spacious, and there's a shuttle service if you're too tired to walk. We booked a Horizon Club room with executive lounge access, which offered enough food for a full meal. I come to Sanya every year, and this is my first time staying at the Shangri-La; it's so much better than Tianyu. The bubble party and go-karts are all free, and the room decor is also superior to Tianyu. Our butler, Rodri, provided excellent service. The only downside is that the beach area is not well-maintained, lacking beach chairs and some other facilities.

GGuest UserMy extensive research definitely paid off! I chose the perfect first hotel for my Sanya trip. I was a bit worried based on some online reviews, but after two days, it totally exceeded my expectations. The hotel's surroundings are beautiful, and the location is excellent; you can see the ocean right from the lobby. It has a huge pool and water play area that seamlessly blend into its private beach. While the decor is a bit dated and the facilities are older, the bones of the place are solid. The breakfast buffet was also decent and, for me personally, met my needs. Not far from the hotel are Baishuigu Valley and Yatai Commercial Street, with night markets, BBQ, and restaurants, making dining very convenient. After dinner, strolling back with the sea breeze was both good for digestion and very pleasant. Oh, and the hotel also offers free airport shuttle and duty-free shop buses, which is great. It might have been the off-season, but I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade to a room with an unbeatable sea view. For this price in Yalong Bay, it's excellent value for money. The front desk staff, especially CC, provided very thoughtful service. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in Yalong Bay.
GGuest UserThe hotel environment is fantastic! There are plenty of facilities and activities, the bedding is clean and high-quality, and the room is quiet. The staff are enthusiastic, and I especially want to commend the dedicated hotel guest relations小姐姐 (Miss) from Trip.com for this stay. She contacted me by phone upon check-in and was responsive to all my needs throughout my stay. It was a perfect accommodation experience.
CCeeCeeCcService: The butler contacted me in advance, thanks to Jill for her excellent service. The hotel offers complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from the airport and high-speed rail station, which is fantastic! They also provide turn-down service, big thanks to the staff.
Facilities: The facilities are a bit dated but still perfectly functional. Both rooms are quite spacious. There are two restrooms, but only one shower. This was a minor inconvenience for our family traveling with grandparents, parents, and a toddler; it would have been much better if there were two showers.
Breakfast: The buffet offers a noodle station, Hainan Zao Po Cu (a local sour and spicy soup), and a good selection of Western pastries. Lots of foreigners, indeed! 😂
The Chinese restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine for lunch and dinner. We found a great value four-person set menu.
There's also a dessert shop and a bar with a very comfortable seating area overlooking the sea. It's a great spot to relax with a drink, and the prices are reasonable.
The hotel only has an outdoor pool, which isn't heated. The deepest part is 1.3m, and there's a kids' pool at 0.5m. Free swimming rings are available.
The artificial beach is sufficient for kids to play in the sand, and complimentary sand toys are provided.
They partner with a photography service and offer five complimentary photos.
There are many children's activities, and we participated in a few. The instructors were very patient, highly commendable!
While Dadonghai can't compare to Yalong Bay, the overall value for money is still good.
GGuest UserEnvironment: As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the sunset and a refreshing ocean breeze. The hotel is absolutely stunning and massive! The coconut groves, lawns, pool, and sandy beach provide endless photo opportunities – it's just amazing! The room has a small balcony, and when you open the door, the view is expansive.
Facilities: They had a baby playpen and bathtub ready for me. Although some online reviews mentioned the facilities being a bit old, everything I needed was there. Hot water was fine, hairdryer worked well. The only minor issue was the air conditioning wasn't very cold, but it was still acceptable. The small balcony was perfect for drying clothes quickly, which was very convenient.
Hygiene: There were notices on the table about geckos, ants, and insects, but I didn't encounter any bugs during my stay. The cleaning staff were also very efficient. With all my baby's things making a bit of a mess, the auntie quickly tidied everything up for me.
Service: My requests were met very quickly! I called for band-aids, to have dishes cleared, for room cleaning, to order a kids' meal, and for a late check-out – all were handled promptly! A special shout-out to Butler Tudou (Potato) – incredibly enthusiastic, proactive, and provided excellent service! Also, the staff at the pool area were very warm and patient, and they even helped me inflate my swim ring for free.
Another highlight was the complimentary Magnolia photoshoot. The photographer was very professional. I just told him what I wanted, and he quickly found suitable locations and patiently helped me set up props. I initially thought the five complimentary photos would be enough, but after seeing the final shots, I didn't hesitate to pay for more. They made a perfect gift for my baby's first birthday 🎁.
The breakfast and buffet dinner included in the package offered a rich variety of options and tasted great. The noodles for breakfast really suited a Hunan palate, and there were various snacks. Dinner was a DIY hotpot buffet, so we didn't eat out at all these past few days, even though it seems there's a food street nearby, haha.
There were also some parent-child activities, but my baby was too young to participate.
Overall, it exceeded my expectations. For a family trip, it offers great value for money.
GGuest UserFor our last two nights in Sanya with the kids, we chose Atlantis in Haitang Bay. The facilities and environment are definitely a step above the hotels in Yalong Bay, and the service is excellent. The hotel has its own aquarium and water park, which aren't particularly special, but they're convenient to access right from the hotel. The water park can get quite sunny, but it's fine for kids, though the bigger rides require a height of 1.22m. Personally, I found the hotel's indoor heated family pool more enjoyable than the water park! 😂 The ocean view in Haitang Bay is stunning, but the sea can be a bit rough, so it's not ideal for playing on the beach. Overall, the hotel is really good. For Haitang Bay, it's definitely the top choice when traveling with children!
