"We booked a family room come with a queen size bed and a single bed. The room is specious, enough to place our luggage. However, the aircon is not cold enough even though we have adjusted the temperature to the lowest. Other than this, we are satisfied. The hotel has own parking lots, which we no need to worry where to park our vehicle. The hotel location is strategic, located along Pantai Chenang."

Rebak Island Resort & Marina Langkawi

The hotel is located on a private island, which was a fun experience as we had to take the free shuttle boat provided by the hotel to get in and out. The boats ran frequently. One evening, even though it wasn't shuttle time, they arranged a special boat just for me to go back to the hotel and rest. I booked a one-bedroom suite, but the hotel upgraded me to a two-bedroom suite. Both were over 100 square meters, but the extra room added more functionality, which was perfect for us as we just wanted to relax at the hotel. The three of us had a wonderful rest. There's a private beach, though the sand isn't very fine, and the sea in Langkawi generally isn't the clearest. Breakfast was hit or miss; sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Compared to another hotel we stayed at, we were very satisfied here. We were the only three Chinese guests at the hotel. The front desk staff had a strong English accent, but my child's English is good, so it wasn't an issue for us. The swimming pool water wasn't crystal clear; it was a bit murky. The service in Malaysia felt very straightforward, without much smiling, which might be a cultural thing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

First, the pros: This hotel faces the sea and is backed by mountains, with every room being an independent bungalow (some are connecting rooms, two make up one bungalow). Each bungalow is nestled in the rainforest or perched over the sea. It truly feels wild; we saw dusky leaf monkeys and hornbills from our balcony, and large monitor lizards and colugos near our door and on the way to the restaurant. The mini-bar is all-inclusive, and yes, there's beer! Langkawi SkyCab is within walking distance. Now for the cons: 1> There are various types of sea-view rooms, but not many offer great views from higher up the hill. Most sea-view rooms have their views obstructed by the first row of overwater bungalows (we stayed in room 1239, see photo). It might be better value to book an overwater bungalow directly. 2> The bedding in the room was too damp and had an odor; those with sensitive noses might find it unbearable. 3> The breakfast was genuinely unappetizing. It looked plentiful, but most dishes didn't suit Chinese palates. 4> Hotel staff use motorbikes for transport, so you're guaranteed to be woken up by motorbike noise in the morning. Dining: We tried three restaurants. I recommend the Western restaurant at B&B. For the Thai restaurant, just go for the fried rice and noodles; the Tom Yum Goong and curries were quite mediocre. A main meal typically costs 150-180 RMB per person. Additionally, I left my Bluetooth earphones at the hotel. Due to battery regulations, the hotel couldn't ship them back, so I can't comment on that service. Summary: If you're looking for a relaxing experience immersed in the sea and rainforest, go for it. If you're particular about room details and hygiene, you might want to reconsider. I'd suggest booking a luxurious overwater bungalow or suite, or a more affordable rainforest room. Avoid the sea-view rooms, as getting a good view there is a gamble.

⭐We had a very enjoyable stay at Ombak Villa Langkawi. The resort is located in a peaceful setting by the sea and offers beautiful sunset views. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and the swimming pool area was a great place to unwind. The resort is also conveniently located close to the airport while still feeling quiet and secluded. Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The only minor downside was that some areas of the property could benefit from a little updating, but this did not affect our overall experience. We would happily recommend Ombak Villa Langkawi to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Langkawi.

Hotel staff were extremely friendly. The Zeitgeber Sunday Walk and Talk (Health) program organized by the hotel was excellent, guests were invited to spend time walking and chatting with a Dr. and it’s a great way to walk in the greens while learning on some health tips. However, we were disappointed with the room allocated; we booked a garden view room but was given a back garden room facing sewage treatment facility. It’s not a pleasant experience.

Overall, pretty good. The environment is lovely and comfortable. The room is a bit old though, and there were some insects and ants. The beach is very close and beautiful. The staff were friendly and polite. I'd come back again if I have the chance.

My stay at frangipani was better than what I expected. The resorts location is ideal for island vacation, perfect blend of untouched beach and resorts ecosystem is extraordinary. The staff is very helpful, polite and attentive. I found my room was very clean plus house keeping was to the point. The swimming pools are maintained well. All in all I would say its a perfect place to stay for couples and families. I would come back here again.

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers an impressive range of amenities. While the location is a little removed from the busier parts of Langkawi and there is not a great deal within walking distance, the resort more than makes up for it with everything available on site. Between the pools, beach, restaurants, gym, kids facilities, and activities, there is always something to do. A special thank you goes to the lovely auntie at the Kids Club. Our daughter absolutely loved spending time there and looked forward to visiting every day. Her warmth, care, and genuine affection for the children made a real difference to our holiday. Another standout was Tommy at breakfast. Every morning he greeted us with a smile and made us feel genuinely welcome. It is team members like Tommy who turn a good hotel stay into a memorable one.

Stayed at Resorts World Langkawi for 4 nights. First, the good part — the view is really nice. The sea view from the balcony is beautiful and relaxing. The hotel area is also quiet. But the room was disappointing. The room felt old and not well maintained. There was rust in the bathroom, stains on the walls and ceiling, and some damaged surfaces. It did not feel clean and fresh. This was a Premier room, which is supposed to be one of the better options in the hotel. Because of this, it is hard not to wonder what the standard or budget rooms are like. One more problem — one of the beds caused constant itching. We had to move to the second bed. Luckily, there were two beds in the room. Soundproofing is poor because of connecting doors between rooms. You can hear your neighbors very clearly. In my case, the neighbors were from India and were quite loud, arguing often — even late at night and early in the morning. After a few days, it felt like I could almost understand their language just from hearing it so much. The hotel has many international guests, and I noticed a large number of visitors from India. It feels more like a busy family hotel than a quiet place. The location is also not very convenient. The hotel is far from the main town, so you need to use taxis. Taxis are not expensive, but you cannot just walk out to restaurants or shops. You will spend most of your time at the hotel, where food and drinks are more expensive than in town. Overall, the hotel feels old and not well taken care of. It may be okay if you only need a place to sleep with a nice view. But if you care about comfort and cleanliness, this is not a good choice. To sum up: Nice view, but poor room condition and not a convenient location. I would not stay here again.

We were a group of friends with kids. The hotel's location is pretty good, only a 10-minute Grab ride from the airport. Definitely don't bother with their airport transfer service, it's way more expensive. The hotel consists entirely of bungalows, giving it a Southeast Asian resort vibe with all-wood construction. Of course, soundproofing is an issue. If you get quiet neighbors, it's fine, but noisy ones can be quite troublesome! My friend and I booked a sea-view room. All rooms are two-story. The first floor is right by the sea, with a balcony that leads directly to the beach, letting the sea kiss your ankles! My friend stayed on the ground floor and said it was so relaxing to just lie there and watch the sea every day! The view from the second floor is unbeatable; looking at the sea from a higher vantage point offers a different kind of charm. You can hear the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep every night, which is really fantastic! The scenery and environment are absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend booking a sea-view room. Now for the downsides: the hotel's hygiene is truly concerning. My friend said the pillows felt like they hadn't been changed and had a strange smell. My kid even reported seeing a gecko in the bathroom at night! The facilities are also quite old. The air conditioning units are wall-mounted, and some rooms have them blowing directly at your head, which can easily cause headaches or illness. The sink area and floor weren't very clean, and the bathroom door wouldn't close properly – it was ill-fitting, possibly due to thermal expansion and contraction. There were many small issues like these. We also had an infuriating incident. I booked a twin room, but they gave me a king room. We arrived at the hotel around 10 PM after a day of sea activities, and when I asked to change to a twin room, I was told none were available. We waited a long time for a solution, and eventually, two staff members came and suggested converting the sofa into a bed. I insisted on a room change, but they kept saying there were no rooms! Finally, I lost my patience and contacted Ctrip's customer service. The customer service representative was excellent, helping communicate and negotiate past 11 PM. In the end, we successfully changed to our booked twin room! This made me quite angry – when I dealt with the hotel directly, there were no rooms, but as soon as the platform got involved, a room magically appeared! Although it took over two hours, and we were tired from the day's activities, and the child wasn't feeling well, so we didn't get to rest until after midnight, I still want to thank the platform for their prompt response and quick resolution! Also, the ceiling fan suddenly turned on by itself around 5 AM – it was just one ghost story after another. My rating for this stay is largely based on the environment; otherwise, it would probably be even lower. If it weren't for this incident, the whole trip would have been very nice.

This hotel was just a place to crash; we were out all day anyway, so we didn't expect much. The location is excellent, right in town. Across the street, there's a duty-free chocolate shop, and plenty of food options within a few blocks. It's also beachfront, so you can catch the sunrise. We booked a suite, which was spacious, but the facilities were quite outdated. The hot water was intermittent, and it seemed like there was no hot water at all late at night! I left my swim trunks in the room and called customer service to ask about them. I figured if they found them, I'd just take a taxi back from Berjaya to pick them up. The first time I called, a man answered and said he'd look for them. When I called again, a woman answered. I'm not sure if she didn't understand English or what, but she just mumbled and rambled for a while before abruptly hanging up on me. Since I was short on time, I just gave up and bought new ones. The breakfast was mediocre, with limited choices. Just enough to grab a bite. The gym is tiny and the equipment is old, but nobody supervises it, and hardly anyone uses it. You just swipe your card to enter, so it's practically 24 hours. It was sufficient for my workout needs. The infinity pool has a nice view, and my kids loved it. There were a lot of Indian people diving and having 'doggy paddle' races, making the pool quite chaotic, and nobody seemed to be managing it. The Indian 'doggy paddle' is hilarious; it's not the first time I've seen it, I've seen it countless times now! I even wonder if it's some kind of Indian national art form? The key thing is, this stroke is exhausting and inefficient, yet they all seem to enjoy it immensely 😂
