This is my second stay at the Meilan Airport Hotel. I checked in a night early from Lingshui because I had an early morning flight from Haikou to Singapore.
**Service:** The hotel's airport shuttle starts at 4:30 AM. I took the 5 AM shuttle to T2, which was very convenient. My 7:30 AM flight meant I didn't have to rush to the airport too early.
**Environment:** The hotel has many rooms and a 'U' shaped corridor. The room I got was a good distance from the elevator. It's also not far to walk to the high-speed train station, about a 10-minute walk. If you arrive late at night, some guests can be quite loud and inconsiderate, making it a bit noisy.
**Cleanliness:** It was quite clean, with disposable slippers and separate slippers for the shower. The bathroom has a wet/dry separation, and bottled toiletries are provided, so you don't need to bring your own.
**Facilities:** Bottled water is provided, and you can choose your pillow. The bed's firmness was just right. For an overnight stay near the airport, this is my top choice.
In the morning, I checked out early and, in my haste, left my phone charger in the room. I only realized I'd forgotten it at airport security. I called the hotel front desk, and they kindly held onto it for me. I picked it up when I returned from Singapore. Many thanks to them!

This is an older, well-established hotel in Haikou. From your window, you can gaze out at the Qiongzhou Strait. The sea-view rooms offer either two 1.1-meter twin beds or a king-sized bed. If you're a party of three, I'd recommend booking a city-view room instead. The executive floor is excellent, and both the afternoon tea and breakfast are very generous. While the hotel isn't massive, it's well-equipped with everything you need. The views are absolutely unbeatable, and it's super convenient to get to the riverside.

Service: The front desk was excellent, even upgrading me directly to a duplex suite. There are a lot of Russians at this hotel, so I felt like the foreigner! It was like receiving VIP treatment. Plus, perhaps because of the Russian clientele, breakfast runs until noon, which is fantastic for late risers and vacationers – a proper brunch situation! Of course, with such late breakfast hours, the spread isn't overly extensive, more like a good 4-star plus standard.
Cleanliness: The suite's cleanliness was decent. The hotel provided mosquito coils and repellent. I was confused about it during the day, but I understood why at night.
Ambiance: It's an older hotel, hard to rate, but the value for money is very high.
Facilities: Hard to evaluate. On one hand, it’s surprisingly well-equipped with a full-sized double bathtub, two bathrooms in the duplex suite, twin beds, and good soundproofing. On the other hand, it has that dated feel, and the projector screen for the attic projector was already worn out. But, credit where credit is due, the idea of a projector in the attic is quite clever. The gym was under maintenance. As for the pool, you need to be brave and unbothered by the Russians – if I'm not awkward, they are!

Traveling with friends and family this time, I once again chose The Langham Haikou. I really love the hotel's decor; it's mostly light-toned, which is great for photos and has a lot of character. The breakfast at the restaurant is also rich and varied. The guest rooms are clean and tidy, offering a panoramic 90-degree sea view and city skyline. I was very satisfied with the room arranged by our service ambassador, Cindy – it was excellent!

The staff were very welcoming and promptly reminded me about parking fees and other details. It's super convenient due to its proximity to the airport and offers great value for money. The front desk mentioned that my room type was only available on the first floor, so I can understand finding a few ants. Also, there was a chemical smell in the room, and even though there was an air purifier, I could still detect it.

This hotel boasts a prime location in the heart of Hainan Ocean Flower Island No. 1, with easy walking access to various amusement parks and shopping areas, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The hotel amenities are excellent, featuring a stunning outdoor pool and a well-equipped fitness center. Plus, the free parking is a huge bonus, with plenty of spaces and even EV charging stations, which is super convenient for those driving. The staff are friendly and the check-in process was efficient and smooth. The attention to detail in their service really enhances the vacation vibe.

The room facilities were a bit old. Perhaps due to the season, all the bed linens felt damp. After I reported it, the butler immediately arranged for a dehumidifier to be sent to our room. They also tried their best to find us a drier room, but we didn't like the low-floor options, so we decided to stay put. Room service was decent. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, but possibly because there was a conference group, the overall service felt a bit disorganized and couldn't quite keep up.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate.
Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images.
During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster.
On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings.
What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip.
The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Booked this hotel for my parents. The location is great, right in the heart of the old town. It's about a 20-25 minute leisurely walk to Wenchang Old Street. The hotel itself is very new, I heard it's part of the Jinjiang group, and the facilities are quite high-end. The rooms are also spacious and comfortable. My parents said the breakfast was pretty good too. Definitely recommend staying here when visiting Wenchang!

Sofitel Haikou deserves a perfect five-star rating! My stay was incredibly satisfying. The hotel environment is super comfortable, with a simple yet elegant decor that creates a great ambiance. The room was clean, tidy, and quite spacious. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the toiletries were excellent. The staff were all super friendly and efficient, always responding promptly to any requests. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and tasted great. The location is convenient for getting around and shopping, and it's generally quiet and peaceful, making for a very relaxing stay. This is definitely my top choice for anyone visiting Haikou; the experience was outstanding, and I'll definitely be staying here again next time!

GGuest UserThis is a true resort hotel. While the decor isn't the most modern, those seeking privacy will absolutely love it. Each room is a standalone unit with its own yard, and you hardly see other guests except during meals. The beach sand is quite fine, and it's mostly deserted. There's also a very photogenic pier that looks just like something out of La La Land! Our butler, Henry, was very responsive, even checking if we'd received our dessert at 9 PM. The front desk answered the phone on the first ring, and the shuttle was almost always immediate. Everyone's service was exceptional, really showing the quality of a five-star hotel. It's also perfect for a run; a 5k at sunset is absolutely delightful!

We booked two rooms, a king room and a suite that could accommodate four people. The hotel is quite large and built on a hillside, so there are a lot of slopes, making walking a bit tiring. Luckily, there's a hotel shuttle service available. You can call the hotel at any time, and they'll pick you up from your location. However, during peak hours, the shuttle can be quite slow. We visited just before Chinese New Year, and waiting for the shuttle after soaking in the outdoor hot springs was very cold, though it probably wouldn't be an issue in other seasons. The breakfast spread was excellent and catered to various tastes. Taking a morning stroll on the hotel grounds, listening to the birds, feeling the sunshine, and breathing in the fresh, negative ion-rich air, occasionally encountering joggers who greeted us, made for a very pleasant experience. The only downside was a slight musty smell when entering the room.

SSuperJessica11Absolutely amazing, exceeding all expectations! A big thank you to Mary at the front desk for her coordination and help throughout our stay, and for the complimentary room upgrade. The kids even learned basic surfing moves, thanks to the instructors — Gorilla, Antelope, Penguin, Lovely, Mangosteen, and Grape — for their wonderful company these past three days. The kids had a blast and specifically asked me to mention their names to say thank you. We'll definitely be back! 🫶

GGuest UserThis trip back home, I brought my kids and stayed in the Family Water Fun Room. The room was very spacious, clean, and tidy, and there was even a small pool on the balcony. The hotel itself is quite large, and right across from the balcony is a huge public swimming area with a water park for children. The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds and kept saying how much fun it was here.
After a long, exhausting day out sightseeing, we returned to find the cleaning staff had folded towels into little elephants on our bed. It instantly wiped away our fatigue – a really pleasant and touching surprise!
We booked a room with breakfast included, and the restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes, all of which tasted great.
Overall, the hotel's services were excellent, and our stay was very enjoyable. Definitely a five-star recommendation!
GGuest UserThe St. Regis is absolutely amazing! Our butler, David, was incredibly thoughtful. They even upgraded us to a full sea-view suite for free the next day and catered to all our requests. This vacation was exceptionally comfortable and enjoyable; we truly experienced the luxury hotel environment and service. It was even better than the Marriott properties I've stayed at before, and the butler service was so attentive! The room had a classic old-money American style. We'll definitely be back!
GGuest UserWe stayed here with our newborn baby. The hotel was nice and the grounds were well kept - it had lovely gardens which we enjoyed walking round with our baby. We booked the pool access room which was quite dark and smelt of damp. Although this room has pool access and a lounging area it was taken by other guest leaving their towels to reserve the beds at 7am! Other guests were also smoking in this area so it was impossible to use our own balcony. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, Jane, Anne and Emily from the hotel lobby were great when we told them about our issue with smoking around our baby. We changed to a villa which was great and definitely worth booking over the other rooms. It was bright and clean with a great big bath and lovely private pool. We ate elsewhere most of the time as during breakfast I found glass from a chipped plate in my food which I unknowingly chewed and cut my mouth. The staff offered us a free buffet dinner which we declined as we were totally put off eating there and hadn’t enjoyed the dinner when we ate there - wouldn’t recommend the food at all.
GGuest UserThe rooms are very private, spacious, and bright, with soft and comfortable bedding. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and there's a complimentary minibar and a private pool. The wireless Bluetooth speaker is excellent. I have to praise the amazing butler service; they communicated our needs before check-in, and the shuttle bus was always available without being intrusive. Breakfast was abundant, exquisite, and tasted fantastic – a truly ceremonious experience. The Statue of Liberty art installations in the park are incredibly photogenic. If you're vacationing in Sanya, choosing this place is absolutely a safe bet!
GGuest UserThe hotel's service started even before check-in. Our butler added us on WeChat to help arrange a pick-up. Upon arrival at the pier, there was a fast track lane with an electric buggy waiting. The hotel staff assisted us with our luggage throughout, from the car to the hotel and vice versa. The hotel itself is quite spacious with beautiful greenery and a very photogenic lawn. Our butler even upgraded our room, so we had an ocean view right from our window. A small robot guided us to our room upon arrival. The room had a generous living space, and the balcony featured a small pool where we could have warm water. Some paths were subtly screened by greenery, providing privacy while still being convenient for getting around. Even when we ordered food late at night or requested tissues, the service was excellent. Breakfast was quite varied, offering Western, Chinese, and Hainan-style noodles. The Hou'an noodles were especially delicious! We initially chose this hotel for its fast-track service, but after staying one night, we realized it's a great choice for a longer, relaxing vacation.
GGuest UserI'm quite satisfied with my stay. I booked my flight and hotel on the day of the Qingming Festival. I'd actually been looking at hotels for days, and on the booking day, this was the most suitable option when searching for queen-size sea view rooms under a thousand yuan. Xiaodonghai is very private overall; I later visited Dadonghai and found it too flashy. The hotel's public areas aren't large, but for a young person traveling alone, it was perfectly sufficient and convenient. The pool offers views of the mountains, sea, coconut trees, and green lawns. I was pretty much the only one swimming, which was a really awesome experience! You can even glimpse the sea from the bathtub in the room, and the showerhead had excellent water pressure, which I really liked. I hope to come back to Sanya during the peak season on a sunny day next time.
GGuest UserThe room was large, clean, and private. The service was fantastic. I had a lot of questions, and they were all answered. There was a dedicated butler. A sightseeing shuttle was available for transportation to the room, and it was easy to get one during off-peak hours. The breakfast noodles were especially delicious. The service at this hotel is truly excellent! The bathroom was a pleasure to use even when washing up in the morning.
