A small villa, the room is clean and tidy, very warm and quiet, the service is very good and warm, we live on the 3rd floor, there is no elevator, the suitcase is the store to help get the room, parking is also convenient. The environment of Zhou is good, and it is convenient to travel. It takes 20 minutes to walk along the river to see the tourist attractions in the downtown area. Only breakfast is very expensive. Two nights a day is a pleasant experience.

Service was very good both at reception and at the bar but rooms were overpoweringly hot, no net on window therefore had to have curtains closed for privacy. Bathroom extractor fan on constantly (until card was remove to cut off electricity). Both dispensers for shower gel / shampoo were broken.
In bar area table legs / base were dirty, obviously not been cleaned that day.
Pool times for children could be extended a little later i.e. our 12 year old could not go in after 6pm.
Thanks,
Ian

Guest UserNot as bad as other reviews suggest, yes it could do with a refurb but it is well priced, friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom. Comfy beds . Amazing views overlooking north bay, ideal as a base to explore. Didn’t eat at the restaurant so cannot comment on food. Don’t be put off by other bad reviews.

ArtistaThe grand exterior of the hotel is impressive, but the rooms are very dated. There is no air conditioning, so booking a room with a window is a must for summer. I booked a window room, though the window required some effort to open. Some rooms do provide fans.
On the plus side, the price is budget-friendly, and the location is incredibly convenient, right next to the beach and the cliff tram, with shops within easy walking distance.
Note that check-out is early at 10AM, and late check-out requires an extra fee. Also, the hotel does not offer free parking, you will need to find paid street parking nearby. It isn’t expensive, but it takes time to find a space during holidays.

Dede.xiansenThis hotel has great style! From the interior design to the cocktails, everything was excellent. Although breakfast isn't a buffet, there are plenty of options, very local and English. The hotel even has a basement that served as a shelter during WWII and has now been converted into a spa – very cool, definitely worth checking out. The hotel pantry also offers complimentary snacks, fruits, and drinks. It's truly good, and the location is fantastic. The record player and vinyl records in the room are a wonderful touch.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Inside and outside, its beautiful! The rooms were modern and clean and they provided a well stocked coffee bar. Location is also good, walking distance from the city centre. Would definitely recommend.

Guest UserEnvironment: Probably the best hotel in York, right? Of course, it's not cheap. The executive room I booked was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable.
Facilities: My friend and I both booked executive rooms, but it seems some rooms are older and some are newly renovated. The older rooms had a drying rack, which my newer room didn't seem to have.
Cleanliness: Decent.
Service: Executive rooms come with breakfast, but it's just a typical British buffet breakfast, not much variety. I personally didn't like it; maybe I'm just tired of 'white people food'.

Stuart AyrisNice cosy room outside of the main hotel. Only window was a skylight that you could open, but it didn't give a lot of natural light. Bed was comfortable and shower good. Excellent amenities within the room including tea/coffee, ironing facilities and TV.
Perfect location for exploring the city and the bonus of free parking.
The continental breakfast was a little sparse and if you're a vegan, you may want to let the hotel know ahead of arrival.
Despite the odd area for improvement, still very good value.

YorkshireRosieI stayed for two nights. I stayed in one of the Sidings Double rooms and was pleased with the size, comfort and cleanliness of my room. It was a very quiet part of the hotel, and although I had a great view of the garden and station - I heard no noise at all so had a very peaceful sleep.
The only slight disappointment I have, is that the hotel pool was quite tiny and was too crowded even at an off peak time, but this does not detract from the hotel and the leisure facility is really just a bonus - there is so much to see and do within the city that I had plenty to keep me occupied during my stay. York is a magical place.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I have already booked this hotel again to bring my young son and do a spooky ghost tour in the autumn. Location-wise this hotel can’t be beaten, and the hotel staff are super helpful and friendly.
