We specially enjoyed the bath tube in the room we stayed. The location was also great, as you can connect directly to the shopping district. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is one stop away from Ghent's central station. Some trains pass through Ghent and then reach this station in one stop. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station.
You can take a bus, ride a bicycle or walk to the old town of Ghent (each has a different experience). There is a bus terminal and a Carrefour near the hotel (but the quality of fresh food in this Carrefour is not very good, I recommend Albert Heijn in the city center)
The hotel has a parking lot, and the lobby is shared with Ibis style (the price is similar, the rooms here are larger and have a small kitchen). The small kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, kitchen utensils and tableware)
You can take a train from Ghent to Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels (the one-way train journey is less than 1 hour). At night, you can also enjoy the beautiful night view of the ancient city of Ghent. It is highly recommended.
Location and the property are very nice nearby all the highlighted spots.
House keeper is very helpful. (Room entry card was not working, I got a big help from her.)
I deducted 1 point from the service of reception once she ignored my request of small spoon.
Overall is great.
It was a surprisingly satisfying hotel. First of all, the price on weekends was not expensive. From the moment I entered the hotel lobby, I discovered the beauty of this place. The overall design was very good. The room was large and clean. Opposite was the ancient and mysterious building of Ghent. I regretted staying only for one night.
Nice hotel, in the centre of the edge but still easy to reach, park on Friday market on arc.
Very wide room, large bed, mini bar, coffee facilities, bathroom with bath and shower, beautiful view of the water.
Friendly staff at the reception, at breakfast a little less.
A great breakfast room on the 3rd floor with views over Gent and the water.
Breakfast buffet is good but not luxury.
This hotel is certainly a recommendation!
A fantastic hotel with an excellent location right by the canal. The hotel has two entrances: one accessible by vehicle on a back street, and another directly opening onto the canal. Tour boats stop almost right outside the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to pop back to rest our feet after exploring. The front desk staff were very friendly. The canal view was absolutely worth it; opening the window revealed a postcard-perfect scene. You could happily spend a whole day just enjoying the room. There's a supermarket nearby where you can buy fruit and water, and complimentary water was also provided in the fridge. The spacious bathroom was well-equipped with an iron, hairdryer, slippers, and a shower cap. Marriott's quality standards are definitely upheld here. Highly recommended!
The room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from.
Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided.
There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central.
The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm.
There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸

Bbrugge****The rooms are comfortable, the hotel staff are friendly and attentive to guests, and the buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of options to suit different tastes.

AASHLEYRUANThe kitchen was well-equipped and spacious, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. The breakfast was plentiful, and overall, the place was quite clean. The only minor drawback was the rather expensive parking, but the front desk staff were incredibly friendly!

Kkevin_mzbThe location is slightly off, in Ghent, but it is convenient to go up and down the highway. It takes half an hour to go to Brussels, Ulster, and Antwerp. The hotel room is bigger and the bed is big, breakfast is OK, cost-effective
GGuest UserWhat a beautiful hotel! Rooms were very nice. The restaurant was completely booked online. Even when check-in, it was still asked if it was possible to book a table for 2. This was fortunately possible! And what a nice restaurant (adviser!) Also breakfast next morning was well arranged. Friendly staff and a good location (5 min and you are heart center) We will certainly come back here again!
