🏨 Honest Review of Staying at Artotel Leguna Magelang (March 3–5, 2026)
I stayed at Artotel Leguna Magelang from March 3, 2026, to March 5, 2026, for an event at Muhammadiyah University of Magelang on March 3 and 4. The location is quite strategic and made it easy for me to get to campus, so I wasn't too tired from commuting.
I initially booked a Standard Room with one large bed, which included sahur for two people. I received a free upgrade to a Superior Room, making the room feel more spacious and comfortable. The room was clean, tidy, and a great place to rest after a busy day. The bed was soft and made for a restful sleep.
What I liked most was the mountain view from my room. 🌄 The atmosphere was calm and cool, especially in the morning. It was great for recharging before continuing my activities.
Regarding service, I found the team friendly and responsive:
In the morning, I was assisted by Ms. Risty and Mr. Aga.
In the afternoon, I was assisted by Mr. Bangkit, Ms. Sheila, and Ms. Nayra.
In the evening, I was assisted by Mr. Fino.
Everyone was helpful and communicative. If I needed anything, they responded quickly and without hassle. It felt like I was being well-served, not just a formality.
For housekeeping, I was assisted by Mr. Dani. The room was always clean and well-maintained throughout my stay.
Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) was served buffet-style in the restaurant. While there wasn't a wide selection, it was sufficient, the food was delicious, and it was prepared well and on time. So, there's no need to worry if you're staying during Ramadan.
Overall, I was satisfied and felt comfortable during my stay. It's perfect for those in Magelang, whether for campus events, work, or simply a staycation with a peaceful atmosphere and mountain views.
If I ever return to Magelang, I wouldn't mind staying here again. 👍
Possibly this hotel had been expecting more guests in the past but the pandemi had made their ability to maintain its standard a bit more difficult to achieve
The price was incredibly reasonable, the location was superb, I was also impressed by the hotel's facilities, which were clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay there again!
The hotel is good, clean, and quite new. Check-in was fast, and the location is good. Breakfast was decent. The only downside is that parking is a bit cramped, but otherwise, everything else was great.
Hotel near Boyolali square, view can see Merbabu mountain. Suitable for family vacation. but parking in front of the hotel is few. The parking area has to walk about 100 meters to the side of spbu.
love every part of this hotel, during all my hop on and hop off hotels this past years, this Gumaya hotel has met a good standard in most of aspects, especially the breakfast. im so suprised find hotel that the breakfast food taste delicious in all the stalls (usually will be too salty, too bland or just bleh..) but at gumaya, we are like travelling to each own traditional food restaurant, the authentic gudeg, the very nice lumpia and ikan bandeng, the warm soto ayam semarang and the homemade jamu and juices.
all is excellent.
There is swimming pool. The room condition is clean. Thanks.

GGuest UserThis is my 2nd visit to this hotel. Previous visit was quite ok, however this time we were dissapointed with their cleanliness. Once we entered the room, the bedsheet and blankets were a bit smelly and there were yellowish color on them. Also, they forgot to refill the body soap inside the room. Although they did replace the dirty bedsheets and refilled the soap after making a request, but it shows how lacking they are in their cleanliness. Management needs to pay attention to this!
OOn the earthI have been staying at this hotel for a long time and it has always been one of my familiar choices whenever I visit the area. The location is convenient and the overall atmosphere still feels comfortable and welcoming. However, it is a bit unfortunate that the hotel is starting to show its age. Some facilities seem a little old compared to before.
Last night was slightly difficult because there was a loud fan or machine noise coming from outside, which made it a bit hard to sleep. I hope the hotel can check this issue because it could affect guests staying in nearby rooms.
Aside from that small inconvenience, my stay was generally satisfying. The staff were friendly as usual and the service was reliable. I still appreciate the comfort and memories I have had here over the years, and I hope the hotel will continue to maintain and improve its facilities in the future.
CCyril Lee Wei ChunFirst time in Indonesia receiving good hospitality from this hotel. Room is outstanding, breakfast is superb and swimming pool perfect for the day.
Nn0tnitThe price was incredibly reasonable, the location was superb, I was also impressed by the hotel's facilities, which were clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely stay there again!
SSONY COSRINI have ever stayed several months ago but last night due to extreme weather I were late arrival a day behind . Maybe wants to upgrade my next week stay .
LLikeskHotel good. Room it's clear . Services its good. But food for breakfast not good for taste. Hope fnb must repair. And one think hotel must be focus for request. Over all good.
PPratama88Honest review.. stay with the expectation of a 5-star hotel, but the experience is not comparable to the price.
The lobby and check-in process are quite good, the welcome drink is refreshing, and the concierge helpfully carried the luggage. Basement parking is also relatively easy.
Unfortunately, many important details reduce comfort. The door of the room does not have a stopper so it is often slammed loud and noisy. Soundproofing was not good, the sound from the next room was still heard. The room size is relatively small for the standard 5-star, and there is no minibar at all, even a paid one. For mineral water, use plastic bottles, not the premium ones with glass bottles. The lighting system was confusing and the bathroom lighting was too dim.
There are 4 elevators but it is very slow.. there is often a buildup of guests.
The pool area is also less well-organized such as having no concept and not weather-friendly because there is no shaded area. It's ridiculous, having to pay an extra 200rb for access to the whirlpool and jacuzzi.
Breakfast was a disappointment: the menu options were less varied, the taste was standard, and the service was less warm (officers lacked smiles).
Overall, I wouldn't really mind these things if the room price wasn't this muc, but with a rate above Rp 2 million per night, this experience is less worth it. Compared to 5-star hotels in Jogja and its surroundings, it is still quite far behind.
BBitsbyaureliaLoving the facilities and varieties of free activities provided. We literally just stay in the hotel to join as much activities as we can. The kids had lots of fun at kids club, we parents joined latte art class, aerial yoga. Even grandparents enjoyed the stay, my mum & I managed to join the flower arranging class, mums finally got to have fun too 🥰
MMels2012The hotel is quite old and very big, but everything is still well-maintained and in good condition. It offered good value for money for three people plus a friend. We enjoyed beautiful views of Mount Ungaran every morning. The breakfast was delicious, with a different menu offered daily – absolutely fantastic!
One thing that made us quite reluctant to move was the incredibly long walk from the reception to the elevators. The restaurant is also quite a trek from the elevators, which is understandable given how massive this hotel is. If you're staying alone, I wouldn't recommend this hotel; you might get the creeps walking around by yourself, haha!
However, if you're with a big group and kids, it's fine and not spooky. But precisely because the hotel is so huge, the distances to the elevators and restaurant are considerable, and it can feel incredibly deserted! 😭😭😱😱
