The hotel environment is fantastic, with many hot spring pools and lots of trees, plus a variety of small animals. Our room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, and we could even project movies. There's also a small private courtyard outside for a personal hot spring bath, which was amazing. The front desk staff were very attentive and detailed in their service, which was excellent.
However, there was a minor flaw: there was no toilet paper holder in the restroom. The toilet paper was placed next to the sink outside the door, meaning you had to stand up to reach it, which was quite awkward.
The MGallery Dongfengyun Hotel and the scenic area both exceeded my expectations! It's built with 7 million red bricks, no rebar or cement, and no painted exterior walls, using eco-friendly materials both indoors and out, creating a strong artistic atmosphere. The echo wall at the hotel entrance was a delightful surprise. The staff were all incredibly warm and welcoming; I didn't have to carry my luggage once. The hotel front desk provided complimentary scenic area tickets and a photography voucher, and there was always an electric buggy service ready to take us wherever we wanted to go. The rooms feature thermostatic showers and private courtyard hot springs, with complimentary fruit, coffee, and tea. On Mother's Day, the hotel's Western restaurant even gave out carnations and small cakes. The attention to detail in their service was truly impressive; hats off to the hotel! The entire scenic area feels like you're in a Southeast Asian rainforest, with an abundance of tropical plants, fragrant flowers, birdsong, and surrounded by mountains and water – it's truly a paradise, a beautiful natural oxygen bar! There are also large grape plantations nearby where you can visit wineries for wine tasting, and the hotel has an open-air bar with live singers in the evenings. It's an absolutely perfect place to unwind and relax.

Choosing Fengshen Seaview Hotel in Shuanglang was absolutely the right decision! The overall two-tone design is incredibly stylish, making every casual photo look like an influencer's perfect shot, complete with a natural 'vibe' filter. The room directly faces Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, offering expansive, unobstructed views. You can witness stunning Erhai sunsets without even leaving your room – the scenery is just incredible. The service is also exceptionally thoughtful and attentive, and there's even a lovely afternoon tea. My stay here was fantastic; it's just so relaxing to stay here when visiting Dali~

We stayed in a Pullman villa, which was incredibly spacious and came with its own private courtyard, offering a very tranquil experience. The hotel provides golf cart service for villa guests; a quick call to the front desk and a cart arrives within 2-3 minutes – very convenient. The hotel package also included afternoon tea, which was of excellent quality, truly five-star standard without any shortcuts. The only drawback is that because the hotel has been open for a while, some of the hardware facilities around the property are showing wear and tear, which detracts from the aesthetics. We even skipped the complimentary travel photography for this reason. I'd suggest they gradually upgrade these facilities.
The resort is spacious, with attentive service. We booked the Hot Spring Superior Twin room. The perks included were very thoughtful: the stocked mini bar, access to the hot pool, breakfast, and airport transfer. We communicated mostly via WeChat. Front desk was attentive, helping us arrange a daytrip driver to Ruili, and sorting out places to eat. Although the place is away from the city centre, it is equipped with a restaurant and massage parlor nearby. The closeness to the airport and the noise may be a concern for some.

Byredo shampoo, conditioner and body soap…
Very near baisha guzhen, even provided bbq at night. The host is really attentive.
We went for a hike to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which we needed to leave the hotel at 7am. We casually asked the host what time breakfast starts, and breakfast starts at 8am. Briefly mentioned we’ll miss the breakfast and they prepared a bunch of snacks - buns, eggs, yoghurts and milk and left it at the reception for us to bring along to eat while on the way 🥺.

Gaozhuang truly transforms from day to night; its real charm only emerges in the evening! The melodious hulusi, the graceful Fannuo dance, the endless neon lights, the exotic Dai electronic music, and the bustling Ganbai Street. Since I'm not a fan of guesthouses, I always choose the Mekong Jinglan Hotel for my stays. I visited Gaozhuang two years ago and also stayed at Jinglan. The facilities, location, views, and service were all top-notch. So, for this trip to Gaozhuang, Jinglan was again my top choice! The room interiors, bed frames, and even the exterior walls are all well-maintained, indicating that the hotel is well-managed and invests in its upkeep, creating a positive cycle.
This time, I'm staying in Gaozhuang for 4 days. I initially booked a two-day River View Executive Twin Room. At check-in, the lovely Miss Xiaoju at the front desk warmly welcomed me and helped arrange a high-floor room as requested. When I learned about the in-house suites on higher floors (fewer than 5 available, with better views, and not sold on platforms), Xiaoju proactively offered a key card for me to view them. After some discussion, Xiaoju offered a very favorable price within her authority. Consequently, I decided to book the in-house suite for another two days. A huge thank you to Xiaoju for her help!
My vacation wasn't long enough this time to stay for the Dai New Year Water Splashing Festival. I'll definitely come back when I have more time to experience the three-day carnival!

Located within the Honghe Water Town urban tourism complex in the southern part of Mile City, this hotel boasts convenient transportation. Adjacent to a wetland park, it enjoys lush greenery and a tranquil, beautiful setting. The surrounding commercial street offers a wide variety of businesses, making it a well-established and mature destination.
On the evening of my stay, the shower water temperature was slightly low. Upon receiving feedback, the butler promptly contacted the engineer for improvement. We suggest adding non-slip mats or floor towels to the shower areas and perhaps creating local attraction guides, souvenirs, and other gifts for guests.
Although still in its trial operation period, the service was warm and efficient, the rooms were clean and hygienic, and the experience of the signature storm hot spring and public soaking pools exceeded expectations. Compared to other local products, the price-performance ratio is outstanding, making it a worthwhile choice for future stays.

Our second night in Xishuangbanna, we stayed at the Jiangyu Riverview by the Lancang River. The infinity pool immediately caught my eye. It's located within Gaozhuang, just a few minutes' walk from the Starlight Night Market. Upon arrival, staff helped with our luggage. The room included welcome fruits and the hotel's homemade cold brew tea, plus a complimentary minibar.
The decor throughout is in a Southeast Asian style, with smart voice control for the entire room. You can control the lights and curtains with just a shout, and in the evening, you can enjoy the night view across the river, which is incredibly relaxing.
The breakfast selection is also very rich. You must try the Dai-style rice noodles! There are also freshly squeezed tropical fruit juices, sausages, salads, bread, and coffee. Enjoying breakfast by the window with the river view is truly delightful.

OOlive GohWhen I started planning our itinerary for our 15 day Yunnan holiday, I plotted out our path to go all the way up to Shangri-la, back down to Kunming and then to Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land. Then I chanced upon a video of Aini Garden and fell in love! The only reason we came to Pu'er was to get to Aini. This was the first place I booked, and I really took a chance because it has a no cancellation policy and I really had to stick to the date once it was made.
The initial pre-arrival experience was less than pleasant. I didn't know how we were going to get to the manor and my WeChat messages went unanswered. The hotel we stayed at in Pu'er finally got in touch with someone and got them to message me. I asked how we could get there and the answer was a curt ”take a taxi or charter a car”. No pleasantries of ”we look forward to seeing you” or offering to arrange a car.
When we arrived, no one was at reception and no one came out. Our driver was so perplexed he wondered if we were in the right place and if the place was open. Finally a young girl came out and registered us in. There was an air of aloofness from everyone else. However, once we were checked in, things warmed up quickly. We were offered coffee and freshly cut papaya and had a nice introduction chat with the lady staff.
The bedroom and bathroom is well appointed, spacious and comfortable. We would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony if the chairs were more comfortable. I love the floor to ceiling glass windows but the panel above the door should also be glass (it is just netting) so traffic sounds from the road actually comes through at night. I actually wanted to book the cottage in the hills but opted for the standard room in the main house because I was worried it would be cold. Big regret as it is actually magnificently located with stunning views. However take note that you will need to call for a buggy ride or make a 1km hike every time you want to eat or get to the main house. If you are self driving, no issues as you can park right next to the cottage. Anyway it's a small price to pay for an unlimited view of the milky way and seclusion.
This is as close to a Ryokan experience as you can get in China, minus the hot springs. 3 days 2 nights of blissful, carefree living is not quite enough. They make sure they feed you well, with the freshest produce available for hotpot dinner and home-cooked Yunnanese dishes for lunch. There are so many activities organised, from taking you up the mountain for a glimpse of sunrise (with mountain goats for company ❤️) to coffee plantation education tour to horseback riding along the mountain ridges (the view is spectacular!) to scavenging for wild vegetables and fruits to drinking, dancing and singing around the campfire! So much to do, so little time!
One area of improvement I personally would like to see is the coffee serving. They tend to be quite snobbish about how their coffee is taken. Neat, with nothing else. Asking for sugar or milk feels nearly scorned upon. Coffee is a versatile drink and can be savoured in a huge variety of ways. How else is Starbucks so successful? I felt kind of stifled and deprived because I love a good latte and had looked forward to enjoying an unlimited indulgence of coffee throughout our stay.
Anyhow, I love the ecotourism efforts here. It feels natural and unpretentious. I love the people and the camaraderie they cultivate. I especially enjoyed talking to their consultant 敬梅, a beautiful lady with extensive knowledge in Yunnan culture and ecological progress. Also thank you to 徐芳 for arranging transport back to town and giving helpful recommendations. We hope to return again.
BBingbingle、The room was very spacious and well-equipped.
The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.
Bbinh xinhFacilities: Pretty good, not old at all! Stayed for three nights!
Cleanliness: Decent.
Environment: Good.
Service: Excellent! The front desk staff and housekeeping were all very friendly. The restaurant on the first floor was great too!!
Unlimited access to the double hot springs: The weather was a bit chilly these past few days, so the hot springs were perfect!
We didn't go out much because of the rain, but the kids had a blast! The hotel service was really nice, and we'll definitely come back next time! The front desk service was great; they helped us arrange a car for our departure, and the car was also excellent! Highly recommend for family trips, especially if you have children!

MM244286****This guesthouse in Dali is absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless, clean, and tidy with no overlooked corners. The bedding was incredibly soft, skin-friendly, and fresh, making for a super comfortable stay. The whole house is equipped with smart home features, which are simple and convenient to use – a real blessing for anyone who loves ease. The owner was warm and thoughtful, patiently answering all our questions and even recommending some local, lesser-known activities, which was incredibly heartwarming. The location is also convenient for getting around. The overall experience was top-notch. If you're coming to Dali, choosing this place is a no-brainer. I genuinely recommend it to all my friends!
DDanyAprillaThe cabin itself is stunning: sleek, warm, and thoughtfully designed. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the mountain like a living painting. Everything felt new, clean, and incredibly cozy. But honestly? The real beauty of this place wasn't in the interiors or the view, it was in the people.
The hospitality we received was unlike anything I've ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we weren't treated like guests. We were treated like family. The hosts were so genuinely warm, so deeply caring, that I kept asking myself: are all Yunnan people this kind?
The sweetest moment came every morning at breakfast. A lovely grandmother from the kitchen would appear with a bowl of her homemade noodles, the most delicious, soul-warming noodles I've ever tasted. She didn't speak much, but her smile said everything. You could feel that she made them with love, just for us. It reminded me of breakfast at my own grandmother's house.
They checked on us without being intrusive, made sure we had everything we needed, and every small gesture came straight from the heart.
I came in with no expectations about Yunnan's people. I left with a deep belief that the people here have some of the warmest hearts I've ever known. Staying here didn't just give us a beautiful cabin with a mountain view, it gave us a memory of human warmth that will stay with us for a very long time.
HHan_orbMy stay at this hotel far exceeded my expectations; it was comfortable and relaxing from start to finish.
The hotel's standout features are its private hot spring pool and scenic garden. The private hot spring area offers excellent privacy, and the water quality is clean and tidy. Soaking in it was incredibly soothing and refreshing. In the evening, the lighting creates a wonderful ambiance, perfect for photos. The garden view is exquisite and beautiful, with rich layers of greenery, creating a tranquil and peaceful environment. Sitting there, enjoying the breeze and clearing my mind was incredibly therapeutic.
The hotel service was thoughtful and attentive. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff were enthusiastic. Housekeeping kept the room clean and tidy, and amenities were replenished promptly. The location is very convenient, easily accessible by car or public transport, making it hassle-free to visit nearby attractions.
The hotel's facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained, and the overall environment is elegant and serene. It offers excellent value for money, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. The experience was superb, and I highly recommend it. I will definitely choose to stay here again.

GGuest UserBooked this room last minute. I think it might be an older hotel that's been renovated, but I'm not entirely sure. The room had a great view, all green and lush outside. A special thanks to the young lady at the front desk with her hair in a bun – she went above and beyond, running back and forth to help me change the humidifier! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Other staff members were also very attentive. Overall, it was a good stay.
Oh, and everyone MUST try the Jianshui Chicken Feet King! So delicious 😋 I keep thinking about them!
