Loved this hotel. The location is great, and the staff were very helpful throughout my stay.
I got a room with a view of the parking lot, which wasn’t the best, but it was still fine. You can also open the window, which I really appreciated. The room wasn’t very big, but it was clean, and the bed was large and very comfortable. The layout was also well thought out — there was plenty of space to sit and enough convenient places to put your things.
My favorite part was definitely the onsen — just wow. There was one large indoor bath with an incredible city view (especially impressive since it’s on the top floor), and my absolute favorite was the smaller outdoor onsen. You could just lie back, look out over the city, and relax. What I especially loved was that even though it was cold outside, the water temperature was perfectly hot.
The rooftop pool was also fantastic. The water was heated, and the view from there was just as incredible.
The only downside for me was the number of people. There were a lot of tourists, so breakfast could get quite crowded, but if you go at the right time, it’s much better.
after opening time it will be ok.

Our stay has been nothing short of amazing! We were grateful for hotel shuttle service to the hotel as it saves us the trouble of climbing up slopes with our luggages. When we arrived, we were greeted by the warm welcome of the staff with free drinks provided at the lounge. The Sora Room is well equipped with amenities and comes with the private onsen, for you to enjoy any time. Recommend to get the ice (outside room) for a cool ice coke after onsen. Definitely have to give the Japanese breakfast and Kaiseiki dinner a try. Every single dish is so delicious and palatable. The hotel is located at Kanawa, within walking distances to the popular attractions such as Hells of Beppu and Onsen Museum. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Beppu!
I had a wonderful stay at Apartment Hotel Yaezaki. From the moment I arrived, the service stood out — the staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and attentive, making the entire experience feel welcoming and effortless.
One of the pleasant surprises was the availability of free drinks, a thoughtful touch that added comfort and convenience throughout my stay.
The onsen with a beautiful view was truly a highlight. It offered a relaxing atmosphere and a scenic backdrop that made each visit feel rejuvenating.
My room was spotlessly clean and impressively new, reflecting the hotel’s high standards and attention to detail. It was a comfortable space that made me feel right at home.
Overall, Apartment Hotel Yaezaki is a great choice for anyone seeking excellent service, modern rooms, and a memorable onsen experience. I would gladly stay here again.
A lovely relaxing hotel right on the Beppu beach road. There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there.
The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue.
The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch.
Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops.
It's a historic hotel with a hot spring culture. Located on a mountain, it's inaccessible by public transportation; a taxi from the station costs around 100 RMB, but calling a taxi is convenient. The hotel has three private hot springs, marked with round signs outside. You can enter when you see an empty one, but there will be someone inside. Most rooms have private hot springs, and they are very nice. It's best to book a room with a private hot spring, as the other rooms are quite basic and not as refined as those around Mount Fuji. The cleanliness is also just average; the tables were dusty. Dinner is Japanese cuisine, beautiful and delicious, with fresh ingredients. Prices have increased significantly during the National Day holiday; the usual price of around 3000 RMB is quite good.
Baien is truly the best. The private open-air bath and the large public bath are both excellent. (Note: Be sure to confirm the private open-air bath when booking your ryokan stay.) The ryokan is spacious, so walks around the property are lovely. Both breakfast and dinner (kaiseki) are also superb. However, there's no entertainment nearby, so if your sole purpose is to enjoy the hot springs, you definitely won't regret it. I'd love to visit again in winter.
## Environment:
The location is very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Beppu Station. There's a Lawson nearby and plenty of restaurants. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes.
On the 3rd floor, there's a free hot spring. If you want to use it, you can pick up a yukata and belt from the toiletries area on the first floor. It's on a lower level, and I didn't see it at first, so I had to come back down to get it. There's a good selection of toiletries, including disposable makeup remover and facial cleanser.
## Cleanliness:
The room's cleanliness was decent. The facilities were a bit old but still clean. The hot spring only had two hot pools, one cold pool, and a sauna. There was also an outdoor pool just big enough for one person. You just take off your clothes, rinse off, and then soak. However, when I was soaking, I noticed a lot of what looked like exfoliated dirt floating in the pool. The water circulation didn't seem to be very timely, so I only soaked for a short while and then left.
## Facilities:
There's a washing machine and dryer, which I think cost 300 yen per use. The room has a refrigerator, but it doesn't seem to have a microwave; that's probably in a common area. It's quite quiet.
## Service:
The service was very friendly. Opposite the restroom on the first floor, there's a self-service luggage storage area where you can set your own password and retrieve your belongings, which is very convenient.
The hotel itself is a bit older, and you can definitely feel its age in some areas of the property. That said, it still maintains a certain traditional charm. One thing to note is that the location isn’t the easiest to access on foot—you’ll really need a car to get around comfortably, especially if you plan to explore the surrounding area.
What truly stood out during my stay was the restaurant staff. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and warm throughout my visit. Their hospitality made the dining experience one of the highlights of the hotel. The meals were well-prepared and thoughtfully presented, adding a special touch to each day.
Overall, while the facilities could use a bit of updating and the location is best suited for travelers with a vehicle, the kindness and service of the restaurant staff made the stay worthwhile.
The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station. It was raining on the day we arrived, so we took a taxi which cost around 50 HKD. We had a fantastic sea-view room. Although the facilities were a bit old, they were very well maintained. The breakfast was abundant and also served in a restaurant with an amazing sea view. A truly great experience.
Great place to stay! If you book well in advance, you can get a pretty good price. It includes dinner and breakfast, plus a private onsen. Overall, it's really good. The accommodation is clean and the service is excellent. Just be careful with arranging the pick-up and drop-off shuttle; if the timing isn't right or you don't get confirmation, you might have to walk or take a taxi.

HhswwThis hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Oita Station, to the left after exiting. It's also very close to Beppu. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, and the bedding is comfortable. The women's public bath has both indoor and outdoor pools. The complimentary ramen and ice cream in the evening are a thoughtful touch, and there's also water and snacks in the fridge.

GGuest UserGrandvrio Hotel Beppuwan Wakura is an excellent choice with a superb location. We especially enjoyed the free foot spa, the onsen with its great ocean view and well-provided amenities, as well as the complimentary drinks. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four, and the ocean view made the stay even more enjoyable.
