I do recommend this hotel because I love since welcome drink with luggage storage before checking in. The hotel provided me with nice Sushi restaurants around. In the evening, Alcohol buffet was served with unlimited drinks at hotel with nice atmosphere. I also love Onsen and swimming pool on the top! My first time here with full impressive moment here.

The room was quite spacious, and the private hot spring was very relaxing. Everything else met my expectations. I'd recommend it for those who prefer larger rooms. The location is excellent, right next to the Five Hells, so you can walk there directly. The hotel offers free shuttle service from the station, which is a big plus, hence the 4-star rating. The Kaiseki dinner was delicious, but unfortunately, I found hair in my food, which means basic service needs improvement.

This was the first time my friends and I visited Beppu, and out of all the places I've stayed in Japan, this accommodation was by far the best for our group of four. It features an open-air onsen on the rooftop and a comfortable lounge on the first floor. Right in front of the hotel, there's a beach perfect for morning strolls. What truly surprised me was finding a Don Quijote Beppu store right next door! Its proximity to the bus terminal (a 10-minute walk) made it incredibly convenient for a day trip to Yufuin. There's a Seven-Eleven nearby, a Lawson near the terminal, and even a local supermarket on the basement floor of the Lawson building, making it easy to grab bento boxes. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, making it a very accessible location. Having staff who could speak Korean was especially helpful for getting information. But what we were most grateful for was an incident with the onsen. We were about to use it, but someone had tampered with the temperature settings after a staff member had set it, making the water incredibly hot and almost unusable. Late at night, a Korean-speaking staff member and the manager endured the scorching water to fix the issue for us, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our last night. If you're reading this review, thank you so much, truly!

The hotel is right next to Beppu Tower, and Beppu Station is also very close. It looks really nice at night. There are two supermarkets nearby, which is convenient for buying food, and it's also easy to get to several hot springs. I'm writing this review a long time after my stay, so I've forgotten if there was a hot spring in the hotel itself.

It's a historic hotel with a hot spring culture. Located on a mountain, it's inaccessible by public transportation; a taxi from the station costs around 100 RMB, but calling a taxi is convenient. The hotel has three private hot springs, marked with round signs outside. You can enter when you see an empty one, but there will be someone inside. Most rooms have private hot springs, and they are very nice. It's best to book a room with a private hot spring, as the other rooms are quite basic and not as refined as those around Mount Fuji. The cleanliness is also just average; the tables were dusty. Dinner is Japanese cuisine, beautiful and delicious, with fresh ingredients. Prices have increased significantly during the National Day holiday; the usual price of around 3000 RMB is quite good.

This was my second visit since 2017, and it was just as wonderful! It was a hot spring trip with my mom, and everything was excellent from the start. We stayed in the annex, and they moved our luggage for both check-in and check-out, which was incredibly convenient. What really stood out was how they carried our heavy suitcases instead of just dragging them. The main bathhouse was fantastic, of course, and we were lucky enough to use the private family bath three times. We only had to wait once, and the other two times we got right in! My mom absolutely loved it and said we have to come back again. The staff were truly exceptionally kind. Thank you so much~^^

The hotel was exceptionally clean. Although the room was a bit small, it felt new, and a great perk was being able to pick up amenities from the lobby entrance after check-in. They offered a wide variety, including makeup remover, toner, coffee, and tea, which was incredibly helpful! Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were already provided in the room. The hotel also featured a natural hot spring bath (onsen) with free-flowing water and a sauna, which left my skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. While the buffet selection wasn't extensive, the food was delicious. We chose this hotel to enjoy the Hit Parade show, and because it was so clean and convenient, I'd definitely like to stay here again.

The hotel staff are mostly Korean, and the owner is also Korean. We booked a triple room on the first floor, which was conveniently close to the outdoor onsen. The room itself was spacious and clean. The onsen was also excellent. We visited on a weekday, and it seemed like there were only two groups of guests, including us. It felt like we had the dining area and the onsen all to ourselves. Aside from briefly seeing them at the front desk, we didn't encounter the other guests at any other time. We had booked a package that included dinner. The dinner was a delightful, multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki-style), where each dish was introduced and served individually, only after the previous one was finished. Upon departure, a complimentary shuttle service to the station was provided. However, getting there upon arrival was a bit tricky; we had to take a taxi (around 1000 JPY) as it involved an uphill walk, and it was quite hot. Walking would have taken 30-40 minutes. The hotel is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from Kinrin Lake and the 'Fairytale Village.' You could easily visit these attractions in the morning, return, and then check out before departing. If you need to do laundry, there's a coin-operated laundromat a 7-8 minute walk away (as shown in Pic 4). For those who prefer to buy their own breakfast, a convenience store is a 10-minute walk, conveniently located on the way to Kinrin Lake.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station. It was raining on the day we arrived, so we took a taxi which cost around 50 HKD. We had a fantastic sea-view room. Although the facilities were a bit old, they were very well maintained. The breakfast was abundant and also served in a restaurant with an amazing sea view. A truly great experience.

Great place to stay! If you book well in advance, you can get a pretty good price. It includes dinner and breakfast, plus a private onsen. Overall, it's really good. The accommodation is clean and the service is excellent. Just be careful with arranging the pick-up and drop-off shuttle; if the timing isn't right or you don't get confirmation, you might have to walk or take a taxi.

AAnonymous UserThe room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view.

EEinfachDillonThe hostel was very nice and had a cozy charm to it. I also met some very nice people there. There is an Onsen in the hostel, and you can get a satisfying breakfast for around 800 Yen. The owner was very kind and offers evening walks (which I highly recommend) and a ride to the station in the morning. The only downside is that it's an around 30 minutes walk uphill from Floral Village, but the view from there is worth it. All in all I highly recommend it!

HhswwThis hotel is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Oita Station, to the left after exiting. It's also very close to Beppu. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, and the bedding is comfortable. The women's public bath has both indoor and outdoor pools. The complimentary ramen and ice cream in the evening are a thoughtful touch, and there's also water and snacks in the fridge.

GGuest UserMy stay at Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort & Spa was truly wonderful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, offering stunning views of Beppu Bay. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist, making the experience feel personal and relaxing. The hot springs and spa facilities were exceptional, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of local and international dishes, all fresh and delicious. Overall, it’s an excellent resort for both leisure and comfort — I would definitely stay here again!

AAnonymous Usergood value for money! would definitely stay again location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often. food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious! onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins) staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

GGuest UserGrandvrio Hotel Beppuwan Wakura is an excellent choice with a superb location. We especially enjoyed the free foot spa, the onsen with its great ocean view and well-provided amenities, as well as the complimentary drinks. The rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four, and the ocean view made the stay even more enjoyable.
