Location in walkable distance from Royal Mile and very close to Arthur's seat trails (think fresh air and stunning 360 views over Edinburgh and surrounding area). The staff were just so incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating, wanting to make the stay a fantastic one.Clean.Good smell and great ambient music in public areas. Mattresses and pillows were super comfy.Aesthetic, relaxing and provocative artwork. Loved their sustainability plan. I had not realised before arrival that the stay includes complementary access to a full blown gym and fitness centre, albeit down the road.Brilliant! Loved the small but good food choices available and the delivery was true to their photos, brasserie area or otherwise;no tray charge if you want to stay in the room! Will be coming back for sure, thank you, The. Scholar! (Tried both Single, and also Deluxe Double(King bed). Both great and king adds extra if twosome!

We had a vey nice stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable but the towels did have a peculiar smell like they were damp when putaway. The location is perfect for hikes up to Arthur's Seat as it's only a couple minutes away from the trailhead. It's also an easy 30min walk from the High Street so very convenient. Breakfast was average with the usual hot and cold offerings.

A treasure hotel worth staying in when traveling to Edinburgh! Located on a campus of the University of Edinburgh, at the foot of Arthur's Seat, the environment is elegant and quiet. The building itself is an ancient castle with a classical exterior and modern interior (with a lot of decorative paintings); there is a bus stop at the door, which is very convenient to Waverley Station, and it is not far to walk to the old town through the University of Edinburgh area The room bedroom is not spacious, but two large suitcases can be placed for two people. The bathroom is very spacious and bright. Bathrobes, cloth slippers, makeup mirrors, and makeup removal mirrors are provided, which is a surprise The breakfast room is very beautiful, the meals are rich and delicious, if you can eat, you can even order one of each, and there is a tea room where you can drink coffee and lemonade at any time, and provide fruits and shortbread The service staff is friendly and thoughtful, and the business handling efficiency is also high A very perfect stay experience, worth recording~ P1 Hotel exterior (road perspective) P2-4 Room bedroom and bathroom P5-7 Sunshine tea room P8-11 Breakfast room P12-13 Corridor public area

The breakfast is very good, a typical English breakfast, but not a buffet, but a la carte service (there are several options for you to choose, such as coffee or black tea? Scrambled eggs or quiche? etc.). I live in a single room on the third floor. The room is relatively small and cannot accommodate an extra bed. The room is just big enough for one person, with a small bathroom attached. The landlord has strict requirements on the check-in time. If you arrive late, it is best to inform the landlord of the exact time of your arrival in advance, and the landlord will tell you the password to get the key, otherwise there is a risk of not getting the key. The hotel is located in the south of Edinburgh, far away from the city center, about 20 minutes to half an hour walk, but there are buses. It is better if you live alone.

The landlord is very good. We are from London to Edinburgh. We arrived at Edinburgh Railway Station at 6 o'clock in the evening. It took less than 40 minutes to walk. We passed the Chinese restaurant on the road and finished dinner. The landlord said to send me a message and said that I would wait until five o'clock. As a result, I didn't see it, but I waited. First of all, the location is not bad. The price is not bad, and the breakfast is very rich and the fruit is very comfortable. It is no problem to go to various attractions. I am very satisfied with a trip 🧳.

The location is great. There are bus stops right in front of it for both sides. It is very easy to go to Rosslyne Chapel or the city center. There is always hot water. The wifi works well. The rooms are fine. The only downside is there is no breakfast. That's fine too, there are many alternatives outside. There are no hotel slippers, but that's nowhere else in the UK. So bring your slippers in your suitcase when you come to the UK. I would definitely stay here again if I came back because of its location and very good price/performance value 👍👍👍

Hostel location is nice near university of edinburgh. Breakfast menu is nice although its the same everyday even the options of fruits and crossiant fillings. Its freshly made everyday . Service is nice at ground level is really nice Pro: location, hotel staff , laundry and dry cleaning service on first come self serve basis. Rooms have AC , Table fans, iron kit , mircrowave and fridge. Con: Room service needs improvement. They have given it to 3rd party so have fixed timing and clean rooms faster and can be some times undone partially! I would recommend to stay here for 3-4 days or untill you are not bored of eating same breakfast :) Reception is available 24/7 which is nice. Nearest bus stop at forrest road.

The hotel is located in the new town, 10 minutes walk to Prince Street, the location is very good, downstairs is very popular with locals of the traditional British restaurant, locals will come here specially for breakfast. There is a unique design style, the room is big enough, the bed is comfortable enough, very comfortable experience, the only downside is that the stairs are very narrow and the large luggage is very difficult to get up and down.

This hotel is historic and grand, I highly recommend it. Was once the Harbor Master's house for the port of Leith and it truly holds all of the charm of a historic building, but with many cool upgrades! The area is really charming, just off the water and a fairly quick bus ride to all the downtown sites. Every single member of the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping to the front desk really went out of their way to be kind, helpful and attentive. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and they truly made my visit to Edinburgh all the more. I highly recommend The Malmaison. Thank you so very much for an excellent stay.

Awful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all…. The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling. When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned. The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!! Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed Room 210, 26.10-28.10 2024

When you open the hotel window, you can see the castle, and below is Edinburgh's garden fountain. The room is very new and has complete facilities. It will feel a little far to drag your luggage back from Aibo Railway Station. There is another Premier Inn hotel slightly closer to the train station. But the unexpected bonus is that it is very close to the rural village of Dean, and it takes 10-13 minutes to walk there through navigation. Stayed 2 nights in total. Most of the guests here are local British citizens, and I have never met any Chinese.

This hotel really left a very ”unforgettable” impression. The hotel seems to be a renovation of an old building. The environment is very crowded. Going to the room is a very difficult and winding road. It is very complicated... My friend's room is arranged on a different floor, but we have to take different elevators and climb the stairs with luggage to get to the elevator... There was no staff to assist in the whole process, and the elevator floor is also arranged very strangely... The room is OK, clean and hygienic, the bed is very small, and the lighting and decoration style are really hard to evaluate... The location is good, and the hotel breakfast is relatively average

The hotel location is very good, very close to Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, it is a little far away from Royal Mile Street, but can be reached on foot, the town is very suitable for walking. The hotel implements unmanned management, and you can open the door and the room door yourself according to the password you check in. We are a family of 5 staying with children and living suites. The rooms are large and clean and well-equipped. You can cook your own meals. Tableware and pots are fully equipped (but I do n’t see a microwave). We are accustomed to the British diet. The house even provides equipment such as vacuum cleaners and washing machines, which is in line with our home habits. The price is slightly higher, but for the case of five of us, it is still a lot more cost-effective than booking two single rooms, especially it is really good to be able to cook by ourselves. In particular, we need to remind everyone that the hotel will send you an email 7 days and 1 day before the check-in, which will contain the room number and password for the check-in. If you booked on Ctrip, because they may have booked through other channels, the reserved mailbox is not ours, we cannot receive the mail, we must contact Ctrip customer service one day in advance, get this information, and then Can stay. Because the apartment is unmanned, it will be inconvenient to communicate if there is a temporary problem.

The deposit that they took during check in from our CC hasn't been refunded yet! Good beakfast which was from ala carte and it was the only good service we had here... thank you Ryan for the tips on Dean Village, We went there and it was beautiful. Because my husband had knee surgery not long ago, when we booked on Ctrip, we saw that there was an elevator and booked it without hesitation. As a result, we were given a room on the underground first floor (about 3,000 RMB a day to stay on the underground first floor). The most important thing is that the elevator can't reach the underground first floor. Later, after negotiating with their front desk staff, we added 200 pounds a day to stay in another hotel of the same brand. Then we took a taxi to the other hotel by ourselves. The loss of money and the waste of time really made me give a bad review for the first time!!!

Advantages: 1) The location is very good, just on Princess Stree, not accessible from the train station and the castle; 2) The view outside the window is very good, facing the church, you can see Edinburgh Castle, the night view through the glass is quite good, you can refer to the scenery in the photo; 3) As a hotel apartment in the room, the kitchen equipment is basically complete, and friends who love to cook can use it with confidence; Disadvantages: 1) There is no Reception, there is any problem ~ can send email communication or call communication, we arrived at the hotel and found that the Access Code can not open the door to enter the room, ~ can call the office to communicate, customer service can also help you solve the problem on the phone, No one will be sent to the scene to solve it. Note ⚠️: Entering the first floor gate and the room, you need to enter the activation time of Access Code, Code at 3 pm on the day of check-in, and the expiration time is 11:00 am on the day of check-out. That is to say, you can't get in when you arrive at the hotel before 3 pm on the day of check-in. Because your Access Code is not activated, the input is invalid, and you can be obediently accompanying your beloved suitcase on the street. Check Out time is 11 am, and the cleaning staff will put the cleaning tool at the door of the room early, waiting for the moment you leave the room to clean up. 2) There is no elevator, it is really not easy to carry luggage upstairs, it is recommended that single ladies do not try unless there is no luggage. 3) The sound insulation is very poor. I stayed for two nights. There were no guests in the next room on the first night. I felt acceptable. I didn’t receive too much alarm at night. The next night, there were guests in the next room. They talked and opened the door. We can hear clearly on the footpath, and the sleepy little friends should have a psychological preparation. 4) The noise outside the window is very loud. The window of the room is facing the road, and the siren of the ambulance can be heard no less than ten times a night, and it is particularly harsh. In the evening, there will be a group of drunk people who are loudly ”showing their heart” downstairs, walking a wave, and coming again. No less than five waves a night. It didn't quiet down until 3 a.m. 5) Toothbrush and toothpaste are not provided in the room, and there are no disposable slippers. It is recommended that the friends who are going to stay bring their own.

The hotel was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the reception staff was welcoming and amazing! I was thoroughly disappointed at the breakfast selection - the eggs were overcooked and floating in water, it was quite gross. The gentleman taking care of the tables was quite rude. We asked the reception whether we can look at the breakfast before we make a decision to add on, she said sure, we went there and this gentleman working the floor was quite rude saying for how many? I told him I am still deciding as my partner wanted to come in and have breakfast too. It was me and my mom staying in the room, but he was so pushy and rude, he asked for my room number, I gave it to him, he came back saying it's not paid and I said to him I know I am just deciding if I want to add it on -- we were standing away from the food and didn't have plates or anything, we were just texting my partner to get a decision from him. He was so rude and said ”see I told you, this is why I asked, come with me” and he had a very rude attitude. We paid for it at the bar and then went to sit down, but this gentleman was the only rude man in the hotel - quite frankly would not eat at that place again!  He messed the whole experience for us.
