Guangzhou Metro is one of the most developed urban rail transit systems in China. It currently has 17 operating lines with a total mileage of more than 700 kilometres, more than 300 stations, and covers 11 districts in the city. Among them, Lines 1-6 connect major business districts and transportation hubs; suburban lines such as Line 7 and Line 14 extend to surrounding areas such as Panyu and Conghua; Line 3 extends north directly to Baiyun International Airport, and Line 2 runs through the Guangzhou South Station high-speed rail hub. Multiple lines connect well-known attractions such as Guangzhou Tower (Line 3), Shamian (Line 6), and Chimelong (Line 3/7), and cooperate with the APM Zhujiang New Town special line to provide citizens and tourists with efficient travel options.

These trains are significantly faster – covering 50 km in just 15-30 minutes, while the metro takes over an hour. Although fares are slightly higher than the metro, the time saved makes the train an ideal choice for regional travel.

How to Use Guangzhou Metro: Buy Tickets & QR Codes

Guangzhou Metro offers a variety of convenient ticket purchase methods. Single Journey Ticket (plastic coins) can be purchased at station ticket machines using cash or mobile payment (WeChat/Alipay). Frequent travellers can use the Guangzhou Metro official app or WeChat/Alipay applet to generate a QR code ticket (scan at the gate). Visitors can also buy stored-value Yang Cheng Tong Cards at the service counter (recharge card deposit 20 yuan), which can be recharged and used for buses/ferries. International tourists can now use major foreign credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) to purchase tickets at designated stations. All ticket purchase methods support English interface. Yang Cheng Tong Cards (Physical Transit Cards)

You can buy and recharge Yang Cheng Tong cards at self-service machines inside Guangzhou Metro stations. These cards require a 20 RMB deposit and can be used on the metro, buses, and ferries. Simply swipe your card at the turnstile to enter and exit. When recharging, please use cash or mobile payment (WeChat/Alipay) at the self-service card vending machine.

Here we have to talk about the current preferential policies of Guangzhou Metro: within one calendar month, if you use the same platform entrance code or the same Yangcheng Tong card to take Guangzhou Metro, bus, or water bus, the cumulative actual ticket expenditure of more than 80 yuan but less than 200 yuan will enjoy a 20% discount, and the amount exceeding 200 yuan will enjoy a 50% discount.

Felt like airconditioning didn’t work on the first night, so the next morning I told them and they could change my room immediately. However, some areas do feel a bit outdated in the hotel such as the room decorations, chair and closet. Some stains on the chair and the closet doors are a little damaged. They have a fitness area which is great and a pool which was a bit dirty, lots of dead insects, do note that I went very late roughly around 10pm. The view from the rooms were great.

I have divided my 8-days Guangzhou trip into part 1 (Yuexiu) and part 2 (Tianhe) and I must say we enjoyed our stay at Tianhe more than Yuexiu. There were two things that I was missing at the breakfast: tomatoes and watermelon (on the last day there was watermelon but after it was finished (very short time) it was replaced with dragon fruit.

Located just at the heart of Tianhe shopping district, this hotel offered a very affordable price and a decent stay. I might consider to book it again if I had a second chance to go to Guangzhou. At first, as a group of friends, we were a bit concerned if the toilet design would have been too exposed (noise, smell, and visionary) after looking at the room's pictures. But It's far better than the picture! You can't see each other behind the glass (like some hotels), the smell didn't get out, but there could be some sound out. Overall it's really acceptable. The location is GOLD. You can walk to the famous Grandview Mall in less than 10 minutes as well as the cafe/dessert area of Tiyu Xilu behind the mall. Actually the malls near hotel, One Link & Shishang Tianhe, have a lot of great restaurants too. And it's near Guangzhou East Railway Station where you can travel to other cities, though there is not as many routes and trains as at South Station. More for the room and cleanliness: - Smaller than I expected, but still not too cramp for three people. - The building is a bit old and seems like it's in the same building with local/permanent residents. - safety is so-so. There's 2-3 securities I saw. - you can order the delivery and riders can deliver it to you right in front of your door. - no dust and the cleaning was okay - the building is a bit old, so as the room's light - but overall not bad. Very acceptable A big plus is the reception's hospitality! - they offered free bottled water every day. And you can ask for more at the reception. They are not strict. - they helped us reheat our takeaway food, using the staff's microwave. Super lovely.

Not impressed and upset with - room layout Very bad for going to toilet at night. You’ll stumbled on the partition The shower and toilet shares the same sliding doors which is impossible for two persons to shower and be in a toilet at the same time ( to have a privacy) plus the door are not soft closed so at night you can here door slammed -cigarette smells on non smoking floor I suffered to sleep as cigarette fumes seeped into the room at night from 8pm for hours and last night at midnight still have the fumes coming into the room. The first night I called the hotel asking them to check with the maid next morning which room a smoker stayed (near my room2118) and the hotel should give him a warning . Of course nothing was done and I suffered and couldn’t breathe for three nights. Didn’t asked to change the room as more hassle yo ask my partner to repack. -Some kind of construction noises outside at night -Staffs couldn’t speak English well and some don’t have good service mind like a 5 stars hotel staffs should have. Other than above room is good clean, breakfast quality was good, concierge service okay. Cannot rate logistics as using a taxi a lot. Not a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The department stores is about 1km walk from the hotel.

We had a lovely stay here as a family! The room was big, clean, and well-maintained — plenty of space for the kids to move around. The bathroom was spotless and even had a bathtub, which was a nice bonus for winding down after a long day out. While the hotel exterior may look a little dated, don’t be put off — it’s undergoing renovations and the interior is much better than expected. Housekeeping was prompt and efficient, and the beds were super comfortable for a good night’s rest. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat: just a 5 to 8-minute walk to the train station, and surrounded by several shopping malls — perfect for food, snacks, and picking up any forgotten essentials. Nice hotel at fantastic location! I came to Guangzhou for a quick family trip and my family loved it so much that we extend it on the spot when I was supposed to check-out. What's great about it is that the hotel is near Huacheng Square, which means it's close to the Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Museum, and the Canton Tower. It's also in the nicer neighbourhood in the CBD so there is plenty of malls, shops, and places to eat. Mr Janni was there to help us a lot so it made the stay more smoother since he spoke English very well. Fun trip and will definitely stay here again next time.

The overall experiences were great! They have a pillow menu, which I love it. Attentive service. We have the Breakfast Buffet everyday, and it was okay, with a lot of choices. We were staying for five days four nights, I figure the food was better when there's a big crowd, cause they keep refilling and cooking new food. However when it comes to less people, the chef became less attentive and kept chatting, the food quality was so so compare to all the Hyatt. And we tried the dinner buffet once for their famous Hainan chicken rice, i was shocked cause they plate their famous Hainan chicken rice next to Char SIU. The flavor had been mixing together totally not what I expected.

I would highly recommend Neya hotel to all travellers if you just want to find a place to rest nearby the airport, for transit or catch a flight early in the morning. I spent one night with my family there for a flight the next morning. I read the reviews to know that they provide transport pick up from Renhe metro station and airport. Thus I contacted them through the internet call available at Trip. The hotel staff is very approachable and gave me the WeChat account for easier communication. I text them when we reached Renhe metro station. Hotel staff instructed me clearly to the pick up location outside B exit of Renhe metro station, and then called the hotel drivers and after a while the hotel van picked up from Renhe metro station. The hotel check in is smooth, the counter staff greeted us and assist us with check in. The hotel room is spacious, clean and very quiet, good for families. They provide all facilities including the toothbrush set. I found a small issue in the connected room and reported via WeChat. The staff is very responsive. It's resolved within 5 min. I booked the hotel van to airport at 8 am. They do provide transport to airport based on their schedule, 24 hours but on the hour. You may want to check with hotel staff if you want to book the airport transport. They offer airport pick up too, do call them via Trip internet call and best is to add their WeChat account and communicate with them from there. A lot of eating place and groceries stores nearby hotel. I would like to recommend Neya hotel to all travellers. I would like to stay there again if I transit in Guangzhou.

Pretty much everything about it was perfect, a comfortable bed, nice windows, quiet environment, very friendly staff who speak English, even the gym was solid. The location is just a couple minutes walk from the MTR. There are also a couple decent parks nearby. Be aware that the neighborhood is filled with Africans and Middle easterners, I wasn't aware of this but I feel people should know.

The hotel just in front will always be the pick-up (not the hotel's fault I guess). Room is big albeit a little dated. Eateries, restaurant etc and a family friendly spa nearby. Metro is nearby too

Very best staying experience in Guangzhou! We stayed 2 nights in 2 rooms. rooms were clean, quiet, and cozy. My 3 years old called the room we stayed 'our home', he even denied going out to play but staying in the room🤣 Very convenient location near the subway station, with a friendly staff and excellent service. We will absolutely come back to stay whenever we visit Guangzhou again.

I recently stayed at the Pullman Hotel at Guangzhou Airport with my 11-year-old child, and our experience was mixed. I chose this hotel for its convenience, as we had an early flight and appreciated the easy walk to the terminal. However, check-in was uncomfortable due to the receptionist asking questions. It felt odd when she inquired if we were staying in the same room, especially since I had booked a room with twin beds for us. Her questioning about whether we were together and whose name was on the booking made me question how many children book into the hotel. On a positive note, the staff who helped us with our luggage was fantastic and made the process smoother. However, I was confused when asked to ”depose my money,” which added to my frustration. Better communication would improve the experience. While the hotel has its strengths, the check-in process needs attention to ensure guests feel welcome.

Great stay with great location. On the 39th floor, there is a cafe which oversee the Zhujiang River and the Canton Tower while dining. Within the hotel premises, there is a chinese restaurant which serves dim sum and cantonese dishes and also there is a Luckin coffee. The hotel also houses 4 washing machines and dryers complimentary for in-house guests which I think is a great bonus. In the big laundry room, there are many seats for guests to unwind with books, chess and tea. Will love to be back when coming to Guangzhou.

We will book one more night before go hongkong . There is a Philippines general consulate office on 21st floor, same building as this hotel and easy to walk to the Philippines general consulate office for visa
