Travelodge Edinburgh Central

Breakfast is very good . So is location . Rooms are fine with a hot shower . Would stay here again

Hotel in central location room very comfortable but very warm due to weather. Breakfast was fantastic delighted with the booking was an absolute bargain through Trip.com during the Royal military tattoo and fringe season! Would definitely return!

Well located hotel just off the Royal Mile (though its all uphill to the castle, in case that bothers you). The room is standard travelodge. The staff are friendly. It was the breakfast that was possibly the disappointment - for budget hotels we usually stay premier inn and the breakfast here was not as good or wide ranging. No fried eggs even, and not close to the same selection on the continental options. Hash browns pretty poor too. There were these potato scone things which were very lifeless as well. So all told we will probably stick to premier inn for family breaks where pricing is similar.

Overall good stay, breakfast ok but not beans for two days ever dueto the tin opener being broken not a big issue I know but when you've paidfor breakfast you expect there to be all items available, alcoholic drinks very expensive to say the least. Over £10 for a gin and tonic "how many shots out of a bottle can you get". WiFi free for 30 minutes then had to pay. These sort of hotels really do overcharge when there is no need to, we'd bud had more drinks if they had been more of a reasonable price.

Not the most pleasant stay. My girlfriend works for travelodge and knows travelodge serves 24 hour pizza and light bites. We asked for some food at 23:15 and we know kitchen shuts at 10. They told us we had to wait 20 minutes then the young guy with a black earring we didn't get his name refused to do food because he would rather go home! We was appalled by his behaviour and ruined the stay for asking anything else. Mugs weren't changed when we had a top up on door and neither was the coffee or milk topped up. The assistant manager or manager was nice tho and the girls who worked nights. The nicest thing was the bar 85 however they never did big bottles of water.

The staff were so helpful and welcoming and the room was spacious and very comfortable. It is an excellent location and our stay at Travelodge enhanced our view of Edinburgh and made us want to return! Thank you
