We booked this last minute during a road trip to Scotland. The room seemed reasonably priced for Edinburgh compared to other similarly rated hotels in the city. Our room was ‘Milan’ and the decor was a little extravagant but clean and modern nonetheless. The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower and separate bath tub. We were given a token for 2 free glasses of Prosecco that evening which was a nice touch. The member of staff at checkin was friendly and efficient. We had breakfast included which was a choice off a menu, full breakfast through to eggs Benedict etc. options for everyone I would say. There was unlimited juice and hot beverages which was good value. The only downside to the hotel is the noise from the bar downstairs. As it was a Saturday night some noise is expected so we did not complain. It wasn’t so loud to be a real issue. Earplugs are supplied if needed! All in all it was a great nights stay in a clean and modern hotel slap bang in the city centre with helpful staff.

This was our second time at this hotel and we stayed for almost a week. You can't beat the location on George Street, right downtown, close to shops and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice. The king bed had a good mattress and pillows. There is a safe. They seem to have made upgrades since our last pre-covid stay, including air-conditioning in (all?) rooms. As you would expect in a big city, the rooms are quite small and the hotel is not exactly quiet; also depending on where your room faces. We were right by the elevator, which I generally don't like. I wonder if it's because we booked through our credit card and not direct. It seems there is sometimes a ”penalty'. The rooms are supplied daily with water, delicious cookies and snacks. You can make individual cups of drip coffee in a filter, which is much better than instant coffee but not as good as a Nespresso, IMHO. We had breakfast included and the Printing Press is just wonderful, for breakfast, any meal and later evening cocktails and whiskey. The Burr & Co is a coffee shop, also right next door, with tables outside. Love that place. The hotel has great service. We lost a suitcase and got daily support in checking on the status and changing the address on the delivery. There seemed to be a shortage on hair conditioner and we didn't have a sign for do-not-disturb the first day and got woken at 8 AM, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of the hotel stay. We expect to be back.

With very attentive and open staff, this hotel is in the centre of Edinburgh and ideal to get to and travel about from. The room booked was compact with a comfortable bed and lovely Arran bathroom products. Even under Covid19 rules they gave a filling breakfast. I like the coat hanger of the stags head and antlers as well as the barrel made into a bedside table. There’s a handy USB port plus a over the bed table and the room card is wooden which is really nice. It’s the usual service & amenities and so a standard rating. However we would book again.

I booked a junior suite with garden view & patio. I got a dirty, musty and smelly small basement room next to the kitchen with a view on a wall & noisy frying exhaust (from full haggis Scottish breakfast to fish & chips all day). This isn’t a suite or an apartment. It’s overpriced accommodation (over £200/night) and a scam. I expressed my distress a couple of times. Nobody cared. Noise from the street was intense at night. I will never go back and do not recommend this place. I cannot comment on rooms on upper floors, but avoid the room Nb 1 at all costs! There is no reception, this isn’t a hotel in any way shape or form. They care for the little cafe on the ground floor and just make money from the rooms. I’d prepaid so I had to stay. On the plus side the location is very central and the sheets/towels were clean. The rest of the room and especially bathroom was filthy and unmaintained. The photos will speak for themselves. Too bad you can’t smell through the photos or hear the exhaust or street noise.

Solo visit as visiting the city, Edinburgh always been on my ”bucket” list and this hotel is just a gem! Not a 5 star building but most definitely a 5 star experience. I was met by Anthony who checked me in promptly and efficiently, he was very informative and helped me with a few tourist things. My room was perfectly fine, a little dated but nothing drastic. Breakfast perfectly cooked and everything you could have wanted, loved the porridge. I will be back again!

The hotel has a very good location in the centre of Edinburgh, there is a bus stop right in front, which makes it easy to travel. There is no one in the desk. It is written that the lingerie is changed once a week and the household is done at the same pace, we stayed 10 nights, I had to talk to have clean toilet lingerie, It also required a 'concert' between manager and employees to get them to pass the aspirator (there is a moquette everywhere) in the two apartments after a few days; and we bought our hygienic paper for the little story. Then on Saturday night, you need to prepare for quising balls or go out very late because there is a bar just below where young people go out in large groups until 3 a.m. and cry and laughed unstoply.

The pros - location is perfect for a weekend in Edinburgh, just off Princes Street and Rose Street, ideally located for any number of bars, restaurants and sightseeing. The apartment was very clean and modern with good kitchen facilities (if needed). However there are a lot stairs which would not suit anyone with mobility issues. The cons - check in confirmation sent was for the wrong apartment, so we were unable to gain entry on arrival to then be advised we had been moved. We were not given the apartment I had booked and it was smaller than expected with no view looking into an office block and a grubby rooftop area with a dead pigeon! I had requested an additional bed which I was assured would be in the apartment, but a cheap fold up bed had been left outside the wrong apartment, meaning I had to carry it up 2-3 flights of stairs and make it up myself, before being charged £15 per night for its use! If staying here please note all the small print as an additional deposit charge (£200) will also be taken without warning before you stay and held for 3-5 days after your departure until they check the apartment over.

Mono Suites New Town is Edinburgh's first smart hotel. We operate a manless reception where access is completely flexible and autonomous. Guests will receive access codes pre check-in time and this will allow them in and out of the property, making your stay feel more like your private home away from home! The property features 4 boutique suites all on the first floor situated in the historic heart of Edinburgh, making it the perfect place to stay whether you are visiting for business or pleasure. Please note there is no lift. However, the only thing these suites share with historic Edinburgh is their address. Each Suite is contemporary and naturally decorated, to contrast the traditional and busy city outside, making it a tranquil place to rest your head after a long day in the city. You will soon forget you are in the middle of bustling Edinburgh. The added beauty is they’re all uniquely diverse, ranging from an intimate studio double bed suites to our largest Drawing Room Suite, each individually and elegantly appointed with artwork and fittings giving the rooms an organic and natural feel, perfect for those wanting to sleep from one to four guests.

I booked this in a panic after another hotel messed me around, it was a little expensive but very convenient location. Thank you for saving my trip!

The hotel itself is in a great location, but the room I was assigned (401) has a loud, non-stop buzzing sounds like a very loud old industrial fridge. It could be the air conditioning system but is was still going with the AC unit off. Also, there was a constant water noise from time to time and a high-pitched sound. It was the only available room for 1 person so I had to stay there. I didn't have a restful night. Also, there is no receptionist. It is a self-serving hotel. You can call someone but they don't show up right away. If not for the noise, it would be an okay cost/value option, but giving 3 starts instead of 0 due to prime location.

Hotel was well located and very clean inside. Rooms made up daily. Breakfast was ok. Odd smell in bathroom - think the drains are not right. Main issues - bathroom extractor fan continuously on -annoying. The doors to other rooms slam noisily and some awful motor/generator out back of hotel also causing constant noise. Hot rooms; window only opens a crack. Overpriced for what is essentially a marginally polished premier inn.

We loved this hotel. Amazing value for money, if this hotel was in london it would be £200+ a night I think. The location is great, the city center is within 10 mins walking distance but it’s just far enough out to get a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast is OK, does the job really, nothing to write home about. Will defiantly stay here again and recommend to friends

I can not express how disappointed I was with this hotel. I did extensive research as I wanted somewhere nice for my birthday and picked this hotel as it had great reviews and being just under £370 per night for a Delux room with city views my expectations were high. Well what a shock I got. The Bedroom was average at best and certain not deluxe. The beds were appalling, we did not manage to get sleep as the beds were made from hardwood and screwed together. I have attached pictures of the beds.... worst I have every stayed in. I felt like I was in a hostel. I felt like I was sleeping on planks. The city views was a joke as all I had was the railway station and rubbish. The room was very noisy. The TV was so slow it was quicker to watch TV on my mobile. I paid for breakfast and they said I had not had that included in the room rate of £370 per night. Also it stated complementary whisky as part of their “in room features” which was false advertising as they only provided it on day one despite it not stating that. I did question if they were going to take the other in room items out of the room ie TV, HairDryer, etc. There were stains on the chairs and carpets. The cleaning of the room was average at best. There was mould in the bathroom. They did not provide clean glasses and we had to clean them and we had to ask for Tea Bags and milk every day. The service at breakfast was awful as it depended who you were. We asked why some people were service tea/ coffee and others had to get our own. Breakfast was not fantastic. The staff were not that friendly or helpful. Was I wrong to expect a good standard of hotel / room in Edinburgh for £370.00 a night? I have stayed all of the world and never experience just a poor service / standard. Not the birthday experience I had expected. The only thing good about this place was it was central so location was good.

This hotel is historic and grand, I highly recommend it. Was once the Harbor Master's house for the port of Leith and it truly holds all of the charm of a historic building, but with many cool upgrades! The area is really charming, just off the water and a fairly quick bus ride to all the downtown sites. Every single member of the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping to the front desk really went out of their way to be kind, helpful and attentive. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and they truly made my visit to Edinburgh all the more. I highly recommend The Malmaison. Thank you so very much for an excellent stay.

had a fantastic stay here! there were 10 of us who all booked out a dorm. was quiet, clean and good quality. there are two bathrooms and two toilets per dorm which i thought was very good. our room wasn’t ready for an extra half an hour so they gave us free drink tokens for the bar! the reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because it was awfully hot in the room - even with the window open! there didn’t seem to be air con - we wondered even if the hostel had put the heating on? we didn’t try the breakfast. the hotel bar had decent food but long waits.

It's really close to Waverley station and the hotel facilities are good. The room size is several times that of London, and I was able to sleep comfortably. It's just that I washed the shower curtain and didn't dry it properly, so it smells rotten. It was a one-night stay and I just slept because it was a late check-in, but it was worth the Hilton name, but the smell was a bit too much. Other than that everything was good.

The real thing matches the picture perfectly! The host sister was super considerate and prepared fruits and candies🍬 to welcome us! The kitchen supplies and tableware are all complete, and those who cook will be happy! There was only a double bed, and there were three of us. One boy slept on the sofa. We communicated with the landlady in advance and got permission to prepare an extra quilt! The water flow in the toilet is very strong and the hot water supply is sufficient. An additional heater in the bedroom is enough, and there is no problem with the heating in the living room! The location is really great, just around the corner from Edinburgh Castle

This hotel is so good, why is the rating so low? The hotel has more than 200 years of history, although there is no elevator, but the equipment in the room is very advanced, the toiletries are all L'Occitane, especially mentioning that the bedside table has a radio that has been placed in the light classic is very soothing, lying down without having to watch TV like this The music is very comfortable. Breakfast bread milk fruit is self-help, other such as bacon sausage eggs can be cooked, especially Amway fried poached eggs super delicious. In the UK, if you go out to eat breakfast or lunch, you will have more than 100 pieces. The price is very high, and the price will be high. I will stay here next time~

Besides the gimmick, the Court is a wonderful place to stay if you are visiting Edinburgh, whether on a budget or not : fantastic location near the St Giles cathedral (where city tours seemingly start from), super friendly staff and surprisingly clean amenities (first time experience in a hostel so I didn't know what to expect quite frankly). Stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend in August 2022. I'm guessing the price was high because of the fringe and it being a bank holiday weekend. The hotel was bright and breezy. no tea making facilities in the room. No hair dryer, limited storage, no draws. There was tea making facilities in the reception that were free and always available. Breakfast at the hotel was continental and £7.50 each. Quite reasonable for the offering of cereal, pastries, yoghurts, juice, ham and cheeses. Nice location opposite the tram station.

Huge and really well equipped and with 2 bedrooms, each with a sofa bed and also 2 bathrooms. The hotel location is very good, very close to Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, it is a little far away from Royal Mile Street, but can be reached on foot, the town is very suitable for walking. The hotel implements unmanned management, and you can open the door and the room door yourself according to the password you check in. We are a family of 5 staying with children and living suites. The rooms are large and clean and well-equipped. You can cook your own meals. Tableware and pots are fully equipped (but I do n’t see a microwave). We are accustomed to the British diet. The house even provides equipment such as vacuum cleaners and washing machines, which is in line with our home habits. The price is slightly higher, but for the case of five of us, it is still a lot more cost-effective than booking two single rooms, especially it is really good to be able to cook by ourselves. In particular, we need to remind everyone that the hotel will send you an email 7 days and 1 day before the check-in, which will contain the room number and password for the check-in. If you booked on Ctrip, because they may have booked through other channels, the reserved mailbox is not ours, we cannot receive the mail, we must contact Ctrip customer service one day in advance, get this information, and then Can stay. Because the apartment is unmanned, it will be inconvenient to communicate if there is a temporary problem.

Satisfied👍 When we checked in, the front desk found that we needed to wait, and immediately asked a man who could speak Chinese to serve us drinks. The little brother also helped us book a restaurant and was very responsible. The service is very good! The room environment is great. Breakfast is included in the room rate. It is on the 10th floor. The 12th floor is open in the morning and offers a panoramic view of Edinburgh. You can go up there after breakfast. The important thing to say is that breakfast is ordered from an English menu. With Tom's enthusiastic help, we chose the food we liked and had a great time eating it😋

The cost for this room was very cheap so I didn't expect a lot of frills. I had let them know that my plane landed at 9 am and was informed that the room would be ready at 2 pm, but they would secure our luggage until check in time. Sounded perfect but upon arrival was confronted by a person who ask how we got in (the door was unlocked), so I explain who we were and that we had paid reservation. Once he checked it out (lack of communication) he took our luggage. We went to the Abbey had breakfast and some beers hung out and talked to locals. Then we walked around the corner sat a few minutes till they opened the door. We were given our room key and two door keys, instruction on checking out and how to get a hold of him. The room was simple but clean;our luggage was in the room;plenty of towels, toilet paper, shower gel, and shampoo.I love the idea of having the keys so we could come and go as we pleased. The building is pretty old, with very tall windows and a nice view of a green yard with black/white birds. My first impression was oh no...but I settled down and checked out things they had everything we needed. Free wi-fi (password on bathroom door) shower/toilet in room (which I requested) clean beds and TV with quite a few channels. If you wanted glam with your room go somewhere else and pay for it. Yet if you want just a room to sleep and freshen up, close to bus stops, bank, ATM and food/drink establishments then this is the place for you. My sister didn't care for her bed but all beds seem out of whack compared to your own. I slept fine in mine. Even tho the main street was an ambulance easy route to the hospital the room was very quiet and with drapes drawn very dark.

A beautiful, modern hotel and they really have thought of everything (milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, water etc). Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay extra special.

Absolutely brilliant hotel to stay in at Edinburgh Airport. Super close to the airport and to the tram for going through to Edinburgh city centre. Service was amazing and the cocktails were a brilliant start to our holiday!

Location, price and service were all good. In particular, the postcards and chocolate bars handwritten by the CEO were impressive. If I go to Edinburgh next time, I definitely want to go back to this hotel. It was remodeled and the cleanliness was also very good. There is only one thing, the name has changed, but it is a bit regretful that I was lost in front of the old hotel name on Trip.com.

Having previously stayed with my family in No 1 The Mansion Apartments in London I had booked a stay for my son in 2020 in London at that outstanding property. This was a nonrefundable booking made directly with them. Due to border closures he was unable to travel and I was told my money was in credit. I contacted them earlier this year as he was travelling to Scotland during a university break. I couldn't have been happier with the service I received. All the money I had paid 3 years ago was sitting in credit. I was able to use these credits to book both stays in the Highland Apartments in Inverness and the Braid Apartments in Edinburgh on the dates he wanted to travel. He said both apartments were excellent. Due to such outstanding customer service I will definitely book one of their properties again when we are next in the United Kingdom and will do so directly with them due to the ease of resolving such an unseen complication.

Surprisingly good apartment. Stayed here for a long weekend with my daughter mid-January 2022. It’s about a 15 minute easy walk from the train station and very easy to find. Apartment itself is in a great location (think it was apartment 2), facing Princes Street. It is directly above a closed shop, with a McDonald’s to the left. So noise may be a problem - we live in Central London so didn’t really notice it at all. Bedrooms are at the back of the property so the noise isn’t an issue overnight. As somebody else pointed out, the main door area is a bit dirty as it’s on the Main Street. When we found the place on Street View that did put us off a bit, but don’t let it worry you - it’s minor. Property itself was modern and well maintained - dishwasher (no tablets /detergent though that we could find), washing machine, coffee machine etc. Decent state of repair too although with some bits that could do with tidying up. Bathrooms had underfloor heating too which was good - and also pretty good water pressure in both showers! Important if you like that! All in all we had a great stay, and would happily stay again.
