Firstly the location is stunning and the food is excellent. My husband & I stayed for our anniversary and had the tasting menu. Check in was a little unorganised and the woman seemed stressed. I also don't think it helps that you cannot check in until 4pm and everyone probably arrives then. We were shown to our garden room, it was lovely and made easy access to the car park and restaurant. Disappointingly when opting for the tasting menu, you are not seated until 6.45pm which for us is late and doesn't accommodate for everyone. We received our first plate at 7.20pm and finally finished all courses by 10.30pm. I understand there needs to be some "breathing space" between each plate however some were 30-40 mins which was becoming irritating. It is a shame as the food was superb and we would like to go back if it was organised better. Maybe they were short staffed? But we were never made aware of this. Breakfast, as we were advised, is seated at 15 minute intervals. We reserved for 9am, assuming we would be eating our hot food by around 9.30. Unfortunately we didn't receive this until 10.15am, again the food was delicious but was put off with the waiting time and we weren't the only ones. 3 couples sat down after us - between 9.15 and 9.45 but the couple who was first didn't receive their hot breakfast until the other couples did, so they all got served at 10.30am. Not sure what was happening in the kitchen. I would recommend this hotel the food was excellent and the rooms lovely and would love to return if the tasting menu was seated earlier and organised better in areas. I hope this feedback is taken on board as we really loved the location and food.
