Right opposite overamstel metro station which was very convenient. Water fountain facilities available. Very accommodating staff. They even had a Taylor Swift booth with bracelet making which was a nice touch with the ongoing Eras Tour

Although the hotel is not close to Amsterdam Airport/Central Station, it is close to Sloterdijk Station, so transportation is not too inconvenient. There is a Spar small supermarket not far away, which is convenient if you want to buy some light meals. The interior of the hotel is newly renovated, the room is spacious, there is a small refrigerator and a small kitchen (with kitchen/cutlery), which is great if you want to save money and cook something to eat. I purchased an additional breakfast at this hotel. The breakfast is buffet style. The meals are similar for several days. There are not many choices but the taste/temperature are all acceptable. This stay was a great experience, highly recommended!

This was about the only hotel within the area proximity I wanted that wasn’t costing an arm and a leg and had a lot of positive feedback. It was pretty helpful that a free shuttle was provided so it made the transition from the central station to the hotel much easier. I am not sure how guests of certain races are treated at NH Amsterdam but upon arrival at the reception area the person attending to us was trembling for dear life. I guess perhaps being non-Caucasian might posses a threat or maybe it was her first day working there. I really can’t be certain, but it really isn’t a good look if the receptionist can’t get her job done without shaking like a leaf when handing the paper to sign, when taking ones credit card, when handing the keys etc. The room was pretty comfortable, we were given one with a balcony on the second floor which was nice because the view was pretty amazing. Overall the room was clean but a little more attention can be paid to the bathroom. The hair dryer cord was very dusty. It is also pretty difficult to understand the heating system at the hotel. We only figured it out the last night being there, so our room was cold for the majority of our stay. Considering it is winter time, it would be nice if the housekeeper after cleaning, would keep the room warm and not have the ac on cold. We would always returning to a freezing room. The location was by far my favourite as it was only an 11 minutes walk to a train station. Getting buses to get around was not a problem and there was the added bonus of the shuttle. However, we getup and out pretty early and the shuttle doesn’t commence till 9am. The stay was a pleasant one and I would probably stay there again, as the negatives we encountered can be fixed I am sure.

Spacious room and living area. Kitchen is fully equipped with almost all the cooking appliances you need, and there’s a big supermarket within 3mins walk. Very suitable for long stay and people who like a home feeling accommodation. The whole design and concept of the hotel is delightful, they offer welcome drink for new customers and prepare a city/hotel guide book in room. Can tell the hotel put a lot of effort to make the place more comfortable. The only issue we had was the water supply in shower, which can be a bit unsteady and boiling hot sometimes.

Very noisy. The noise of laughing, screaming, and swearing on the streets outside the hotel didn't stop until 4.00am!! I read the reviews about the noise before I booked the room, but I never expected it was so horrible like that. I will never ever go back to this hotel again. Suggestion: If you are white, you can try to ask for a room on the higher floors, or just simply stay in other hotels around that are nice and cheaper.

FFRISOExcellent room, excellent location and atmosphere of the hotel. Staff however, too often, go according to the 'book', and find it hard to think and improvise on the spot. It's as if they are under trained. When checking in there is no need to ask the guest to fill info on the iPad. You have this info, to stay in touch, already. Don't burden the weary traveler with trivial nonsense. If the sun shines, finally after weeks of grey and rain, and a guest sees the patio with tables in the sun, and this guest wants to have tea in the sun outside in the patio, this has to be a possibility. Don't say, well it's not the season so it's closed, it doesn't make sense, you're a top hotel, not the vander Valk. Improvise, think on your feet, explain that he is welcome to sit there and that his tea will be brought out, but it might take a few minutes longer. This way the guest feels listened to and that the moon is even possible. The kitchen is incredible, the food is wonderful. Last evening I had dinner at the Jansz., two ladies working, were very kind, helpful and attentive, they understood the delicate balance between asking how things are going and leaving the guest alone. I want them to know i appreciate them. Please extend my gratitude to them. Also the Asian looking lady who worked during breakfast this morning, was excellent. Please let her know as well. Finally, the staff at the entrance - getting cabs etc. - are great. Some of the male staff are too - in Dutch, popy yoopy. I am your guest and not your friend. That's all, and that's enough. Thank you for a great stay and I hope to come back again when I am back in the Netherlands. Kind regards, Diederik Lugt

GGuest UserVery good customer service at the reception. I arrived early and was given a room to check in at noon. The room was clean, comfortable, and I like the fresh fragrance throughout the hotel. Clean bedding, shelves and wardrobes. Soap, shampoo, hair conditioner and shower gel were provided and the shower was easy to use with adjustable water temperature and power. There were a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee (Nespresso) and a kettle in each room. There are elevators to various levels, including the lower ground level where the hotel restaurant can be found. Breakfast is available till 12noon at an additional charge. I had breakfast at Bagel & Beans just opposite the hotel, which opens at 8am each morning. The location is convenient, just 15mins walk from Amsterdam Centraal train station, well connected to ferries, buses and trams. The blue and white ferries cross River IJ and are free of charge. Thanks to Room Mate Aitana, I had a very enjoyable stay with my family.

GGuest UserOh my, I loved staying at BUNK Hotel Amsterdam. I was first attracted by the good reviews of this young hostel/hotel hybrid, booked it far enough in advance for an early bird discount, and just a couple of days into my seven day stay, I realized I'd truly gotten a great deal. BUNK Amsterdam is fantastic! Ugh, where to start? I rented a pod, which is in a large room containing about 50 pods. Pods are preferable to bunk beds or other kinds of barrack-style hostels. There is privacy, there is enough space for you to get comfortable, change your clothes, the mattress is fine, the blanket and pillow are very cushy and cozy, the curtain is thick and heavy. The lighting situation inside the pod is unique, one of those switches with a lot of color and tone options, so you can really light the pod to your mood. I slept very well considering I was in a room with 30-50 other people at any given time. You also get a private locker beneath your pod that can fit a suitcase and a backpack with relative ease, unless you've overpacked. The bathroom is non-gendered, all the stalls are very clean and private. As a guy, it felt weird to use the bathroom while women were in it, so I blasted music in my earbuds to tune the world out while I did my business, ha. The showers are in a separate room and also very private. The water pressure is great and the showerheads are waterfall style. They have towels available at all hours. If you don't see any on the rack, just ask and there they shall be. The biggest surprise for me here was the restaurant. The restaurant attached to BUNK is basically a 4-star restaurant with 2-star prices. They have a full bar with well-priced drinks and very skilled, very handsome bartenders/baristas who can craft a wide arrays of cocktails. The chefs are also highly skilled, and the servers are attentive and kind. The menu is diverse, ranging from avocado toast to an interesting Indonesia beef stew-like dish that I can only describe as mind-blowingly delicious. They also featured a ”taco” that was very tasty despite really not being a taco at all. My favorite breakfast (and perhaps favorite overall meal) was their Eggs Bennie with fresh smoked salmon. For dessert, on multiple occasions I ordered their popular Snickers dessert, which was peanut ice cream with caramel and shards of chocolate and brittle. I meant to do more foodie tourism during my week in Amsterdam, but the food was so good I wound up taking a good percentage of my meals in the BUNK restaurant. I snapped some pictures of the food I mentioned; it should go without saying that I am not a pro photographer. The front desk is manned (or womaned) 24/7, so anytime there was an issue or I had a question, someone was available. They are very attentive with regards to customer service. I should also note with their keycard system and network of entrances and hallways, I felt very safe. They care about security there and take proper, non-intrusive methods to make sure everyone is comfortable. I should also mention the facility is just beautiful. It's built within a very old church, there is a library, plants everywhere, a calming vibe throughout, and a quiet room for work or study. BUNK is located in the North section of Amsterdam (Noord). Noord is the quieter part of Amsterdam, suburb feeling as opposed to the city vibe elsewhere. It's extremely easy to get to the Central area from here though. There is a ferry about a 10 minute walk away that takes you to the central area, as well as a tram a five minute walk away that takes you directly to Centraal Station. I really hit a home run choosing this place, BUNK Amsterdam truly delivered the goods. Great building, great amenities, great staff, great restaurant, great location. I would recommend this to anyone traveling solo or as a couple/small group. Very small group. It's great to stay for a couple of days or a whole week. I loved my experience here and would stay again if/when I return to Amsterdam. Great place.

BBaronZAThe overall environment of the hotel is good. It is a 10-minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum. It is a 20-minute walk from the National Museum. The surrounding area is quiet, and there is a small town commercial street within a 7-8-minute walk. There are restaurants and supermarkets in the commercial street. The room size is OK, equipped with a capsule coffee machine and a kettle. The sound insulation is good, and you can hardly hear any outside noise. The bathroom facilities are good, and there is plenty of hot water, but unfortunately the water pressure is not enough. The hotel breakfast is worth mentioning. Although there is no chef to cook on the spot, the overall quality is good. The time period from 7:00 to 10:30 can meet the needs of most guests. Check-out is at 12:00 noon, but you can store your luggage. There is an outdoor seating area at the entrance of the hotel. This hotel is recommended.

CChuaCharmaineThe service is horrible. They hadn’t prepared my room when I arrived so I had to wait up to two hours. I imagine if I hadn’t constantly asked them if it was ready I would have had to wait longer. The first person I talked to wasn’t even apologetic about it, to the point that they were straight up rude. It’s nice that the other person I talked to was much more accommodating. My charger fell in the space between the bed and the wall and when I retrieved it, there were piles of dust under the bed. The walls and floors were also dirty as there were suspicious dried liquids on them. The person who changes/brings new bedding would also place them on the floor which is unhygienic. The only nice things about this hostel is the park outside.

GGuest UserThe service was very good, nice personnel at the front desk, the room was cleaned every day and so on. Very good location near the city center and therefore I can kinda understand the price of the room etc My room was on the 3rd floor, the elevator only goes to the 2nd floor, not really a big deal but a bit weird. Don't get me wrong, the room itself felt clean and fresh, nothing to complain about there besides that the shower pressure was insanly low, sometimes the water just stopped running at all during a shower... But the big issue is the size of the room itself and what you get for over a €100 a night, I booked a single room for one person, and the room feels like it's built around the frame of the bed, the room is incredible small, smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in and the most expensive one as well. The bathroom is so small that the toilet is placed just behind the sink so you barely have room to actually sit on the toilet, and the glass door to the shower can only be opened on one side... the side where the sink is so you have about 30cm of room to get out of the shower because the sink is in the way... Like I said, the room felt clean and fresh, but it is ridiculously small. Overall a good stay, the room was good enough for sleeping in but for the size of the room and what you pay for it doesn't really add up, over a €100 a night for a room barely bigger than the bed itself is kinda weird.

LloreleikvltWe had been really concerned after pre paying this hotel then reading bad reviews that had us convinced we would need to wear plastic suits the entire visit,, so I thought I'd give my review based around the concerns we had read, to try and be helpful ! some of the things were true , the sheets did come off the bed on mine but I wiggle but my friends both stayed on their beds. super annoying but I just slid it back on and you can always throw your cover over it instead and ask for another . Fortunately we didn't come across the bed bugs people mentioned !, the cat seemed happy and not flea ridden.. however the room was clean enough , no obvious mould. The beds were comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean and quite nice It wasn't huge but had ample.space for our things in the triple person room . It's an old building with narrow windy stairs I'm glad the elevator worked. it's not a relax and sit in all day hotel..it's a place to sleep , shower ...charge your phone and keep your belongings. The coffee machine was fine as far as basic goes. The staff were fine There was a fifty euro deposit on the desk, we just asked for a receipt after other things mentioned in reviews and were given a written one with no problem on leaving . We were offered one free housekeeping day as we stayed 4 nights but opted not to use it due to theft mentioned in reviews.. We stayed at the main hotel so I don't know if all the bad reviews were from the other or we just got lucky with our room but we had no problems, and when I went rustling down before hours looking for coffee the guy did help me before reception opened. It's no paradise of a place , there are marks on the walls but faint...if you're fussy it's not the place for you but for the price and location, we really didn't mind it . It's a super great location as a base with a trendy area behind it And a really cool vegan restaurant a tiny walk away a pub downstairs and metro train a stone's throw away If you have the option to pay on arrival ask to see.your room first.you could take that route Just to be safe, but all up it was fine..3 women travelling together there was no unsafe feeling there . We didn't find it noisy.
