4-Star Hotels in Amsterdam

Our first international trip with the kids brought us to the Netherlands, and this hotel was perfectly located. It's away from the city center's hustle and bustle, yet incredibly convenient for getting around. A 1-minute walk to the left brings you to NOORD station, which is the first stop on the line, so you're guaranteed a seat. The surrounding area is lovely too, with nature and animals creating a peaceful atmosphere. The supermarket by the station is well-stocked with everything you need, and the food options there are great. The room was very clean and thoroughly serviced daily. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything, especially the convenient transportation.

The room was quite spacious and very clean, with a nice river view. Check-in at the front desk was super fast. There was even a welcome card from the housekeeping staff on the desk, which was a really thoughtful touch. It's about a 15-minute walk from the central station, making it very convenient to take the train for dining out. The only minor downside was that the dry area in the bathroom didn't have a drain (a common issue in Western Europe, perhaps?). If water splashed out during a shower, the floor would stay wet...

Very good location ... Just a few train stops from Schiphol Airport to reach Sloterdijk Station. Few minutes walk from here to hotel. Transportation hub is just right in front of hotel. Flixbus stops is also 5mins away from hotel.. Super convenient with a mini mart n as well as some eateries around the corner. More choices avaliable if venture further out.. Spacious n clean room. Clean n fresh towels. Daily housekeeping. Comfy bed with pillows abit soft though.. No AC but a air cooling system. Provided a table fan during this super hot summer trip. A complete kitchenette with a new set of cleaning set provided. Water dispenser is located at the lobby. Laundry room is at 1st floor. €4 per usage. It comes with a detergent capsule. Required a deposit of €100 upon check in. Friendly staff but lack of manpower at times. Mostly with 1 staff at reception desk. With 1staff around, we nearly missed our bus to Brussels just to wait for staff to retrieve our stored luggage... No toiletries n indoor slippers provided unless upon request. No hair conditioner or body lotion as well. Just a 2 in 1 body n hair shampoo is used... With a rating of a 4* hotel, it should do better Overall had a satisfactory stay n experience

The location is fantastic, just a 15-minute train ride from the airport, and a mere 3-minute walk from the train station. There's a supermarket right next to the hotel that opens at 8 AM, perfect for grabbing breakfast. The room was clean and tidy, and a good size. Plus, they offer complimentary fruit in the lobby, which is a nice touch.

We arrived and were told we could check in at 2 PM. We went into town, and when we returned around 3:30 PM, the room still hadn't been cleaned. Luckily, we received two complimentary drinks as compensation. Once in the room, we found the curtain was broken, leaving a gap where light streamed in. The TV by the bathtub wasn't working, and the shower kept fluctuating between hot and cold. We reported these issues in the late afternoon, and someone was supposedly coming to fix them. We went out again and returned after a couple of hours, only to find the curtain still broken. We went back to reception, but the maintenance team had already left. Since we didn't want to be woken up by light, a staff member eventually went to try and fix it themselves, but unfortunately, they couldn't. Despite these unpleasant circumstances, I would still recommend the hotel. It's a nice hotel, but the staff aren't always as efficient as they could be.

My stay here was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of Amsterdam, making it super convenient for exploring the canal district. The room facilities were clean and well-equipped, and the overall hygiene was top-notch. The front desk staff were polite, patient, and provided thoughtful service. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Amsterdam.

The location is pretty good, not far from the central station, though it still takes about 15-20 minutes to walk. There's a bike rental shop downstairs (open until 6 PM). The room cleanliness was decent, tidy and neat. Room service was prompt and responsive. Downside: Even though I booked a room with a view, the view outside the window was blocked. I wasn't given a room facing the train station. Ctrip needs to improve its verification of the authenticity of room photos.

This is a pretty standard luxury hotel, with no major issues. There's a mini-fridge, but it's not cold enough and doesn't come stocked with anything. However, the umbrella is a high-end carbon fiber one, which is quite rare and a nice touch. The bathroom drain had a bit of a problem, probably a clog from hair that needs to be cleaned promptly. My biggest issue, though, was the front desk – they were incredibly slow! Especially during check-out. I've never seen a hotel where you have to wait in line one by one; usually, you just leave your room card and go.

I booked this hotel for the view, and dinner was included. Before checking in, I saw some negative reviews, so I double-checked the dinner arrangements and confirmed that the city tax was included. At dinner, I also repeatedly asked which dishes I could order. Later, I asked Trip.com customer service, and they said three courses and one drink were included. However, the server on-site said only two courses and a drink were included (and only certain items were available). The next day at checkout, we were told we had to pay 11 euros for lemonade, even though we had confirmed with the server during dinner that lemonade was included. After paying, I contacted the hotel through Trip.com, and they claimed we had re-ordered drinks at 11 PM, which we absolutely did not. I asked for CCTV evidence, and then the hotel changed their story, saying drinks were not included in dinner. What exactly is their charging standard? For a hotel over 3000 RMB a night, I didn't see the expected service or integrity. Can they just make up charges and even accuse us of re-ordering to get a discount? It's truly frustrating.

The hotel isn't in the city center, but getting around by metro is super convenient, and Amsterdam isn't a huge city anyway. It's a 5-minute walk from the metro station, and the path is pretty flat, which is great when you're dragging luggage. (Picture 1 shows the view from the metro exit.) Rooms are cleaned daily. There aren't any individual shampoo, conditioner, or toothbrushes, just a single shower gel, but that's pretty standard for European hotels. The pillows are quite high but not hard; I found them easy to sink into and comfortable. The Wi-Fi speed was good most of the time. I couldn't find an on/off switch for the air conditioning, only temperature adjustments. The motion-sensor light in the bathroom was a bit funny – it would go dark after a few minutes! The staff were friendly and efficient. Other than check-in, check-out, and storing luggage, I didn't interact with them much. Luggage storage is free, which is a nice perk. After checking out, there's a restroom, sofa, and charging ports on the ground floor, which is perfect for a quick refresh before heading to the airport. There aren't many restaurants nearby, so it's a good idea to eat before heading back. Although the room isn't huge, the bed is small and the layout is well-designed, making it surprisingly functional. We could open two large suitcases at once. Overall, it's quite similar to a budget hotel back home, but prices are bound to vary due to location, especially during tulip season when they definitely go up. For the price, it's still decent value for money.
