Outstanding
DDruchiiHaving enjoyed a previous stay in February, I chose to return this July. I requested an east-facing room and was delighted that my wish was granted. The sunrise view towards the Skytree and the National Diet Building around 4:30 AM in summer is absolutely breathtaking, easily rivaling any dedicated observation deck experience. The Japanese set breakfast was both substantial and delicious, and the serene view of pine trees reflected in the restaurant's pond was incredibly soothing. Furthermore, perhaps owing to its prime location near the National Diet Building and the Prime Minister's Official Residence, the hotel offers incredibly convenient direct underground access to public transportation, yet the street-level environment remains remarkably quiet and tranquil. The staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly, and the presence of Chinese-speaking personnel ensures that Chinese guests will face virtually no language barriers. On a delightful side note, the ambient fragrance used in The Capitol Hotel Tokyu's corridors is utterly captivating – I highly recommend making it available for purchase at the hotel's souvenir shop! I will absolutely be rebooking here for my next trip to Tokyo.

SSiluowenniyayuanshuThe room isn't very big; at 30 square meters, it felt more like 20. The corner window was a nice touch, though. The bathhouse was also a bit small. Breakfast was quite refined, and you could enjoy the decent view while eating by the window. All in all, for around 2000, the location is convenient, and it's decent value for money. However, if it's over 3000, I'd suggest looking elsewhere, as you might be disappointed. The hotel's location is like Tokyo's Wall Street, so land prices are high, and it's surrounded by banks and high-end department stores. If you want a late-night snack, you'll need to take a train a few stops. I've stayed at the Mitsui in Toyosu before, and that one was actually much better than this, especially their corner rooms with unbeatable views.

SShiina_hFacilities: Very luxurious, with all the necessary amenities like an ice machine and laundry room. The items in the hotel room were relatively new, and the room itself was quite spacious for Tokyo standards. A special shout-out to the standby video background music on the hotel TV – it was truly lovely. Hygiene: Very clean, standard five-star hotel management. Environment: Located near Tokyo Bay, a bit far from the city center but very close to Disney, so there are pros and cons. It's very quiet at night with hardly any traffic, though the commute time is a bit long (about 50 minutes to Shinjuku). Service: Also standard five-star hotel service. (A quick tip here: if you're going out during the day and need hotel staff to replenish room consumables, you'll need to flip the electronic switch by the door – I learned this the hard way!)

LluciferchengThe hotel is conveniently located near JR Shinjuku Station, right by the Metropolitan Government Building. The lobby is on the second floor, and the hotel itself is split into two buildings. You can enjoy a light show from your room at night. The room was quite spacious, though the bathroom facilities looked a bit dated. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Kabukicho. This is an older, established 5-star hotel.

LL.H.E.Well the room itself is bigger than most of hotels in Tokyo. Pricewise. The bathroom size is spacious. They have spectacular view of Tokyo Dome and Tokyo skyline. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you have something to do in Tokyo Dome (concert, baseball match, etc). You practically can spend most of your Tokyo stay nearby, from concert, shopping, amusement park, even stroll around the nice ancient garden next to it. The staff also very friendly and helpful.

GGuest UserGood location with many food and shopping options within walking distance. Airport bus transfer stops right at the hotel itself. Self kiosk for check in and check out. Room amenities are available at lobby for self pick up. The facial mask is indeed a good to have. You can skip the restaurant buffet breakfast as food options and quality are lacking.

JjellykoiThis hotel is quite famous, so the price isn't cheap; it's comparable to a 500 RMB hotel in China. Not all rooms offer great views. Lower floor rooms only look out onto air conditioners and the roofs of nearby low-rise buildings. I recommend booking a higher floor room. The elevator lobby offers excellent views, worth checking out. Its convenient location is, of course, a big plus.

NNamphueng NadineI booked and paid for Club Lounge access at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo while traveling with my family and young child, expecting service consistent with a premium property. Breakfast hours were stated as 7:00–11:00, and we arrived within that timeframe. At the time, there were no hot breakfast options suitable for children — only raw salmon, toast, and a small selection of pastries. When we asked staff, we were told there were no other options and that each guest was limited to one set. The hotel later claimed we had arrived during a “break period” (8:30–9:00), which had never been communicated. Communication then stopped for three days before we received photos of a fully stocked breakfast taken at a different time, implying the issue was our personal preference. It was not about preference — it was about limited availability during official service hours. We provided our own photos and videos, but the response felt defensive rather than accountable. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the Club Lounge to families traveling with young children and would advise others to reconsider their expectations carefully. Premium hospitality is defined by consistency and integrity, not presentation alone.

DDouglas 戴This hotel looks decent from the outside and the location is good, but the service is honestly the worst I’ve ever experienced in Japan. There is no proper drop-off area, so I had to stop briefly by the roadside while my wife went in to check in and I handled the car. She asked a staff member named Pandey for help with the luggage. She had four large suitcases and was the only guest checking in at the time. There were two staff members in the lobby and no other guests, yet his response was a blunt “No.” No explanation, no apology, no attempt to help. Just no. If the luggage trolley in the lobby is not for guests to use, then it’s completely pointless. Things got worse after check-in. I called the front desk to ask for a toothbrush and an extra face towel. The call was answered by the same staff member. His tone was rude and aggressive. He said, “You just checked in, right? The towel is in the room.” I repeated that I needed an extra towel, and he hung up the phone on me. This was not a misunderstanding. It was rude, hostile behavior. We felt unwelcome and disrespected, which is especially shocking in Japan, a country known for hospitality. A good location and nice exterior mean nothing if staff treat paying guests this way. Refusing basic assistance, hanging up on guests, and creating an uncomfortable atmosphere is unacceptable. Until management seriously addresses this issue, I cannot recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!
