Horrible experience! Never in my life have I encountered such treatment. We spent 3 days and nights in a room without air conditioning in the middle of August in hot Barcelona, where it was 36°C. The AC in the room didn’t work at all. Despite making our reservation by phone and confirming directly with them that the room had AC, it was broken when we arrived. There was also a broken fan which is dangerous to use. We reported the issue immediately and they pretended they were going to fix it but did nothing. It turns out they have several rooms with a non functionning AC and they know it. When we asked them to change our room they claimed to be fully booked. So we asked for a discount because it’s impossible to sleep in that heat, the rude receptionist initially offered only a 20% discount. The next day, she changed her mind claiming the room already had a discount! Horrible and unacceptable! NEVER book here! Even though it’s a hostel, when your listing says there’s AC and you don’t provide it, it’s a scam!!

I stayed here for 2 days, last week and would highly recommend this hostal. It is just a few minutes walk from Pl Catalunya, where you can take the aerobus straight to the airport. The hostal is a little hard to find, behind a steel door but once you are inside (up some rather steep stairs) it is very nice. Maria was very pleasant, as was the cleaning guy and you were made to feel welcome. My room, number 4, was small but perfect for a solo 2 night stay. There was a place to hang your clothes, along with a sink unit, small table and flat screen TV. There was also a little balcony, overlooking the street and while it can get noisy, it did not affect me at all. The shared bathrooms were clean, and I never had to wait to use them. When you check in, you are given 2 keys, 1 for the front door of the hostal itself, and 1 for the metal door onto the street. All in all, a really good budget option, especially given its location, and a place I would definitely go back to.

Das Hostel wirkt sehr ungepflegt, zudem hatte ich keinen eigenen Schlüssel für mein Zimmer. Ich habe mit der Managerin vereinbart, dass ich das Hostel storniere und ich habe ein anderes Hotel gebucht. Mir wurde trotzdem der ganze Betrag belastet. Ich habe mich sehr über den Tisch gezogen gefühlt!! Ich habe über Booking gebucht. Ich rate klar von dem Hostel ab.

Appena entrati ci è preso un colpo … una scala angusta e sporca. La reception si trova al piano primo . La ragazza che ci ha accolto molto carina, il piano è stato ristrutturato e ci ha fatto fare un respiro di sollievo! La stanza con bagno è molto piccola e ahimè la pulizia lascia molto a desiderare. Il copriletto aveva una macchia non bene identificata …. Poteva essere vino rosso? Sangue??? Giusto una notte , eravamo troppo stanchi per andare via . Peccato perché la posizione è ottima , una traversa delle ramblas e a due passi da piazza della catalunya. Non lo consiglio!
