Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt

1. Housekeeper did not make up room for the first night (out of theee nights) despite “please make up room” displayed on room door. 2. Hotel only provides one bottled water per stay, instead of per night or at customers’ request (normally expected at true 5 stars hotels so this hotel is 4 stars at best because of this). 3. Hotel staff’s attitude is not 5 stars standard. Upon checking in, my room’s air con was not working. I called the front desk, the staff simply asked me to double check if the window is fully closed which I did but the air con still didn’t work. I called for the second time, hotel staff just asked me to try closing the window with force. And only when I called the third time, they sent someone to assist me in the room. At the end, we had to change to a new room as the old room’s air con was broken down. I would expect immediate in-room assistance at true five stars hotels.

The hotel is just 100 m from the Berlin central train station. Just need to cross a not too busy road. No need to go through bridge or tunnel. Therefore no problem even if u are carrying bulky luggage with u. U can get to anywhere conveniently (e.g. airport, Potsdam).

A modern hotel that is conveniently located near the train station. The room is spacious and tastefully designed. The breakfast spread is good as well.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The service was warm and attentive. I forgot to bring USB chargers, and the staff proactively lent me two. All my requests were responded to promptly. The location is unbeatable, just next to Berlin Central Station, making it extremely easy to travel around the city. Definitely recommend.
