We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Brela, staying at the beautiful Hotel Maestral. It is very classy, peaceful and relaxing - perfect for couples. We were given a room upgrade to sea view (very much appreciated thankyou) and spent many relaxing hours taking in the amazing view. It was especially nice to have comfortable armchairs on the balcony - a huge improvement on the usual plastic ones! The hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated in a modern style. We loved the amazing staircase! We had a very comfortable bed and a good sized room and bathroom. Although we usually enjoy a buffet style breakfast, the menu was varied and the staff informed us on our first morning that we could order as much as we could eat! Everything was delicious and it was actually a really nice change being waited on by the very attentive and polite staff (especially Tereza who made us feel very welcome) and eating in such beautiful surroundings. We loved the location - two minutes walk to the sea and the promenade goes on for miles. Our favourite walk was when turning right out of the hotel - just stunning views! A nice surprise was that the water in Croatia is very good quality and safe to drink - no struggling back from the supermarket carrying heavy bottles of water. We went on the Hvar and Bol excursion and also got the public bus to Omis which is definitely worth seeing. From there we went on the Cetina river cruise which was amazing and incredible value at 10 euros each for one hour and twenty minutes! There was no need to book as the boats sailed quite regularly. Although the scenery in Croatia is stunning- even the airport transfer was great - we still think Brela was the best place we visited.

Most pleasant surprise. Beautiful surroundings, nicely refurbished ‘60s hotel, plenty of friendly staff, very good meals, served a la carte, quiet atmosphere, big rooms, excellent beds, large balcony with seaview. The only drawback: no ice cream available at the pool bar!

Lovely hotel, literally on the beach with stunning views, air conditioning was great in the room. Such a nice location, pool was reasonably quiet although the usual putting towels down at 7am was an issue. Beware quite a few steps down to beach not an issue for us though, would highly recommend the hotel and resort. Will be going back

Beautiful, quiet & spotlessly clean hotel. The hotel is recently refurbished and is very modern inside, it is located on a steep hill so we had to get a second transfer after our coach to navigate the tight road, which was all sorted by jet2. It is about 2 hours from split airport. Due to it’s location there are a lot of steps but I think it’s the same for Croatia as a whole, it is a hilly place. The hotel is located a stones throw away from the beach. It hosts its own pool which is generally quiet. We managed to get sunbeds most mornings or afternoons, we did have to wait an hour as some were reserved without people returning (even though the hotel say this isn’t allowed) but definitely not a 6am job to put towels out like in some hotels. Breakfast at the hotel is a set menu, while the service is quite slow especially if you have an excursion time, it’s not the end of the world. The food is ok, it definitely serves its purpose. I’d recommend ordering a few plates from the menu as the servings are quite small and ordering them all once at the beginning to save waiting around. The only problem was there was no English tea, so brits bring your own pg tips if you don’t like coffee! Drinks at the hotel were a little bit expensive but Brela town is about a 5/10 minute walk away so supermarkets aren’t far away. The centre hosts about 6/7 restaurants and a couple of bars. Brela itself is relatively busy but not rowdy at all. Once at the beach it’s flat and you can walk all the way up the coast either way it’s about 10/15km in total. However, there isn’t much past Brela apart from villas and beaches. We visited the restaurant Náutica, the mixed grill and lamb chops were the unreal. Definitely recommend checking them out. The ice cream parlour just outside was equally as amazing and we had one every night, toffee was a personal fave. I’d recommend going on a few excursions, we booked these through the reps at the beach, we did the 2 island (hvar & Bol) boat trip it was €50 and extremely good value for money, lasting all day and being fed twice on the trip. Some wine and shots were included and it turned into a bit of a party on the way back! We also did the 2 stop speedboat trip one morning which was equally as good, for €30 you got an hour on Brac and then a stop to swim in the sea. While here, we went to split for a night, we took the bus which took a while to arrive so I would recommend pre booking tickets online or going to the bus station, split is very busy compared to Brela but worth the journey up to see the sights. Overall, I can’t fault the hotel or the location. It’s a 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews.

Lovley hotel. Feels recently refurbished, everything is spotless with great food and fantastic service. Just a few steps away from the pebbly beach below, and a min walk from the resort centre. On arrival they switched my kids room from a double to a twin without question. The whole family loved it, would recommend and return.

We flew into split airport, picked up our hire car and drove approx 1-hour 15minutes to the hotel. Set in a wooded area this medium sized hotel built in the mid 60’s but newly renovated. The hotel has limited parking in its own carpark; however, the reception staff will find a parking spot for you. In the 10 days we there we had no problem with parking. The hotel is situated on the beach front and is about a 5–7-minute walk along the front to Brela where there are 2 supermarkets (the one at the back is much cheaper), take aways and some amazing restaurants that are not too expensive. There is a small port, at night this is a safe and a beautiful area and sometimes they have entertainment, which when we were there was amazing – BERULIA - what a fantastic group of singers. Reception: The reception staff are outstanding nothing was a problem, even when our hire car locks wouldn’t work, they offered to help. The hotel Manager was excellent; approachable, and happy to answer any questions or issues you may have. Rooms: Modern/slightly retro, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, balcony with a fantastic sea view. The bathroom has a glass wall looking into the bedroom, but don’t worry it does have a curtain for privacy! Great room on the second floor. Restaurant: Breakfast is served (not a buffet) this means everything is made fresh to order. Great breakfast and our waitresses were fantastic especially Teressa. Evening meal: We were bed and breakfast but ate at the restaurant once, and the food and service was very good. Pool Area: Although they have a NO reserve policy, this does not work and there needs to be more thought into providing more sunbathing areas and sunbeds. But if you like being on the beach, it is only a few steps down to the prom with plenty of space; if you get there early but be warned during peak season it can get very busy, but the sea is amazingly clear and the beach is immaculate. Great view and safe to swim in the sea. Overview: A great hotel set in an ideal setting, great staff and we loved it. Hardly any English which suited us. I would say this is more for couples. There are lots of places to visit, some are walking distance, some you will need a car/transport. Highly recommend.

We stayed for a week in mid September. The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of minutes down steps to the beach. The pool area was big enough with no issues getting beds even though people did reserve beds in the morning. Breakfast was a little confusing with all having to be ordered and arriving at once. The food was of good quality. I'm coeliac so good options with gf bread and muffins. Brela is a great resort, turn left or right from the steps and you'll see the most beautiful beaches and views. Highly recommend the hotel and resort

We have just returned from a 10 day break here. The hotel is in a superb location, close to a lovely beach and lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout with a spacious pool area. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds and having a sea view was the icing on the cake. One of the best things about our stay was the wonderful staff, from the receptionists, housekeeping and the restaurant staff. A special mention to Sladjana Stojakovic and Teresa Seferovic who went above and beyond and are a absolute credit to the hotel.

Absolutely unforgettable! When you drive 9 hours from Zagreb to arrive at Bluesun Hotels & Resorts - Croatia destination based on false information twice provided by the hotel and to realize this is not what you booked and paid for, so you have to stop your completely ruined vacation and drive back home without having the opportunity even to properly swim. Really one-off memory preventing you from considering anything with Bluesun name ever again! We were looking for a location for a vacation with a pet, and after searching the Internet, we became interested in the Bluesun hotel Maestral in Brela. We were interested not only in the possibility of the dog staying in the hotel, but also in the possibility of him swimming in the sea with us. In the reservation center, we were told by phone that there are some beaches where dogs are allowed, but they don't know exactly how far they are from the hotel. Therefore, I called the hotel directly and received information that we can bathe with our dog anywhere, and based on this information, we made the reservation. Arriving at the hotel, I immediately repeated the same question during the check-in, noting that I wanted to avoid potential inconveniences. At that moment, there were 3 people in the hotel's official clothes at the reception and they repeated to me the claim that we can bathe with the dog anywhere. As we arrived at the hotel before dinner, due to traffic jams, we didn't go swimming until the next day and immediately experienced a series of inconveniences. While putting towels on the beach directly below the hotel, the sunbed renter (that's how he introduced himself) approached us and warned us that we shouldn't be here with the dog. Most of the people from the beach looked at us sideways, which made us extremely uncomfortable, and one lady, in an unpleasant tone, also drew our attention to the fact that there was a prominent prohibition sign. Indeed, there is a no-dogs sign on the beach, directly below our hotel. We went back to the reception and asked for clarification, but now there was another person behind the desk who confirmed that dogs are not allowed on the beach and that she was sorry we didn't know that. She suggested that we talk to the hotel manager next morning. The same evening, I called the reservation center again, where I was also told to call in the morning because there is no longer a responsible person available. Immediately in the morning, we had a meeting with the hotel manager, who apologized and, like the lady the previous evening, suggested possible beaches for swimming with a dog, but which are also not completely legal for that. The only definitely legal beach for a dog is Stomarica, which is too far away for it to make sense, especially for us, whose explicit selection criterion was proximity to the hotel. I must emphasize that the possibility of swimming together in the sea with our pet and the proximity of the beach to the hotel were the key criteria for choosing
