Bellevue At Trinity Beach

Cairns|2.41km from Paradise Gardens Park
We stayed at Bellevue a few weeks ago for my birthday. I'd booked directly with Laura a few months before our stay. She seemed pleasant in our dealings. When we checked in, we found the apartment (no.10) to be very spacious with a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the standard of cleaning was disappointing. Most surfaces needed wiping properly, including a fake plant in the main living area that was covered in dust, and there were stains on some of the decorative cushions (I took pics of the plant and soiled cushions). Our kids had settled in quickly after our long journey, so I chose to hide the crusty pillows and wipe the surfaces myself. (Throughout our stay we came across other poorly cleaned items including stained bed blankets, dusty aircons and dirty dishes in the cupboard). On our first night about 9:30pm when getting ready for bed, we found that we could only lock one of the three patio doors. The sliding door could be locked without a key, but the two swing doors needed a key, which we were not provided with. I called the after hours reception number and spoke to Laura to ask how we lock the doors. She seemed shocked as to why we were questioning why the doors didn't lock, and asked whether I was worried about anyone getting in, and why we would want to lock the doors as we were on the second level. She said that ”no one had ever had a problem or mentioned it”, and it's apparently ”very safe”. When I explained that, while yes, someone getting into our apartment is a concern, it's for peace of mind as we had our kids with us. Laura said ”It's late, I'm tired, what do you want me to do?”. Her attitude was disappointing. I mean, the doors have key locks on them, why not provide guests with the key?? We were able to enjoy the view, the pool and being so close to the beach. We liked that the apartment was spacious, but overall it was quite expensive for such poor presentation. The whole apartment just needs a decent clean, which I mentioned upon checking out. All in all, yes the view from an ocean room is great, but you can get better value for money and better standards and service elsewhere.

The location of this hotel is a little bit relatively lively, but the taxi distance is not too far, the front desk is Chinese service, the service is very good, the hotel facilities and environment are very good.

We loved the atmosphere of the whole environment and had lunch there today. Sitting in a secluded outdoor overlooking the pool, we felt we could have a holiday anywhere in the world. The six of us were satisfied with our meals and thought they were great value for money. We both had a tiger prawn salad for $19 and the wardrobe had a fragrant taste. Three super special menus (which have closed) for $15, including a glass of wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, and another $15 price is very close to the people including a chicken hamburger and potato chips. The waiting staff is friendly. Our only regret is: “Why didn’t we discover this place earlier?”

The sign of the hotel faces the seaside. We didn't see it when we entered from the Captain Cook highway. We missed it, and we turned around and saw it. Parking is not allowed at the front desk, but must be parked behind the hotel. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the beach. It is better to live on the beach. There was no one at the front desk. After the call, the boss Bruse came over. A very friendly old man. He signed the order directly and took him to the room. No deposit was required, but he didn't actively tell the wifi password. The rooms are one living room and two bedrooms with kitchen. They are quite big. It takes a little time for the decoration, but it is clean, the air conditioner is cold enough, and the stove is complete, so you can cook it yourself. But after use, you must clean up the tableware and stove. The refrigerator is posted to the trash can at the back of the hotel. Not far by car to the supermarket, there are many restaurants by the sea, and parking by the sea is free. Check out at 10 o'clock, call the boss. The room is close to the roadside, a bit noisy at night, towels, hair dryers are provided, no slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bathing supplies

Nightcap at Edge Hill Tavern

We stayed at the Edge Hill Tavern the night before our flight back home because it is not far from the airport. We arrived 2 hours early and the staff wasn’t bothered at all. They immediately checked us into the room. There were some struggles with the key system and they instantly gave us free drinks at the bar which was very very nice and courteous. As our flight left in the evening we asked for a late check out which was no problem at all! We were so impressed and exited about the staff as they were really friendly. The rooms are just perfect. You’ve got a good working AC a big TV with Netflix the bed is unbelievably comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean. We were really happy during our stay as we were treated in such a good way! We would really recommend the hotel!

A lively sociable happy hostel! We arrived late from our flight but that was no issue when checking in. We had a private room due to a long time traveling and it was both spacious and comfortable. The staff were very helpful regarding trips, transport etc! Breakfast included was really convenient and nice in the morning. A lovely pool to relax around during the day. Would recommend this hostel to solo travellers, groups and couples :)
