Four Points Hotels in Dali City

Traveling from Shanghai to Dali, I chose a hotel located in Xiaguan, not one near Dali Old Town. My main reason was to find a quiet place away from the popular tourist spots. The Erhai Lake is still the same beautiful lake, and the views are just as stunning from different angles. You can also walk right along the lakefront in front of the hotel. I booked a two-room suite, which was great. It had two large beds, and all the windows were floor-to-ceiling, letting the morning sun pour onto your bed. From here, you can watch the ever-changing moods of Erhai Lake, including the sunrises and sunsets. During my stay, we even experienced some thunderstorms. When a shaft of light broke through the clouds, the scenery was absolutely worth it. Upon check-in, a dedicated butler named Lily added me on WeChat, and I could contact her directly for anything I needed. However, the hotel does have one minor drawback: it's located next to a busy main road, so it can be a bit noisy. Plus, there's a construction site next door. But the soundproofing is actually quite good. It's also relatively close to the airport. (All pictures were taken from inside the hotel room with a phone, unedited.)
