"Ideal location if you want to avoid town and stay near the beach. I enjoyed evening walk from hotel to Saint Kilda beach. It was less than 5 km for return trip."
"The so-called living in a castle is actually a room converted from a stable. The room is very small and the shapes inside the room are also different, so it is easy to hit your head.
But apart from the above objective conditions, I think all the aspects are good. The breakfast is very good. You eat on the first floor of the stable. The coffee is amazing. The water and milk in the small refrigerator upstairs are very good. The waiter is very responsible for introducing each family and taking them to check in.
The so-called castle is a relatively large house, not even as big as some old houses of Fujian people. It cannot be considered as a castle. The garden... well... is not as flowery as the Imperial Garden of the Forbidden City. The plants are mainly succulents. It is not necessary to expect to see flowers, but it is also a feature.
The most recommended is dinner. You can make an appointment for dinner when staying here. It is a rare highlight of the food in this New Zealand trip. There are only four dishes, which are exquisite and attentive, and taste good. If you don't mind sharing the hall with strangers, you can experience the long table dinner and have a drink and chat with the neighbors who live in the stable that night. The English spoken in one night is almost the sum of the past two years. It is very relaxing and happy."
"Kudos to the check in staff, particularly, Sally Guo and Aaron who are both helpful n hospitable in assisting my family especially my hubby who needs accessible toilet n Sally took the trouble to find us a room for that purpose. Also the additional night booked with Dunedin Lodge simply worth it as they made sure we transfer to another room with ease in terms of checkout n checkin time. Next to botanic gardens n 5 mins walk to supermarket n local community are what I'd consider n recommend to all who'd like to find a suitable n excellent accommodation."

"The location is close to the main street and you can walk to the main attractions, but the city has ups and downs and it can be a bit tiring to walk. The one-bedroom apartment has a living room and a kitchen, which is very convenient with a full set of kitchen utensils and tableware. The University of Otago is very beautiful. If you are interested, you can visit the School of Art. It is so beautiful!"

"Beautiful room, not very big but well designed, doesn't feel cramped. There is no refrigerator in this room. Checking in yourself is convenient. When checking out, just drop your card into the box at the reception. The hotel is located in the middle of the city. Parking on the street is free for a period of time (can't remember). The water flows strong and the hot water works well. I like it."
"Travel to Queenstown, choose to stop for a short day via Danidin, spend a night at Dunidin Motel and Villa, very satisfied! The lady at the reception was very warm and welcoming, and introduced Daniting's good places and food. Arranged us to stay in the newly built villa. The appearance is very attractive. The equipment inside is all available. There are all food and beverage supplies. The dishwasher is very suitable for a family vacation. There are many places to visit nearby, just a ten-minute walk to the city's shops, it is worth recommending!"
"The hotel is on the slope at the end of George Street, overlooking Dunedin. The appearance is small and fresh, and the inside is exquisite. It is so clean. Kitchenware, tableware, washing machine and dryer are all available. The superior one-bedroom room has a large bed + a single bed, especially suitable for a family of three."
"The hotel has a variety of bed type rooms with separate or non-independent washrooms, and rooms with separate washrooms have wash basins. The location is very good, the Auckland University campus and the city, train station, etc. can be reached on foot, the train station is a little far away, about 1.6 km. There is a simple breakfast sharing in the common area, coffee, hot chocolate and bread, instant noodles and more. No extra beds, children can rent a room in a family hotel, free parking. Although the room is a bit old, the whole building is very historical, and the landlord is very kind."

Great
ZZhengguangThe room was very clean and large. There was no one there when we went there. A Chinese lady from the motel next door gave us the key. Parking was also very convenient. There was a convenience store nearby. I think it was pretty good.
GGuest UserParking is inconvenient: The hotel is in the city center. I walked around the hotel twice but couldn't find the entrance to the parking lot. I had to park on the roadside and then go to check in. As a result, I was told that the hotel parking lot was full and I could only park at a nearby parking lot at my own expense (free from 6pm to 9am, if I remember correctly).
There are two elevators, one new and one old. The old elevator is a bit scary to me...very old;
The room facilities are pretty good, but the ground is partially sunken? Subsidence? I dare not step on it.
Overall, it is still pretty good, but parking is a bit troublesome.
SSusieSunThis is my first time staying in a fully self-service motel.
The guest's name will be written on the sign at the door. Simple and clear x
Facilities: Fully equipped with tableware, tea bags, microwave, and cups, all carefully prepared, but you need to bring your own slippers. This is the same in almost any hotel (in New Zealand)
The mattress is super comfortable and supportive. Very good sleep.
Hygiene: clean, spotless, satisfactory, cost-effective
Environment: Quiet residential area. I saw a kitten in the morning.
Neat, clean and bright
Service: Although it is self-service, because I arrived very late at night, the owner left a light for me, which was very warm.
Thank you also to Ctrip for your service. My phone card is a data card I bought but I couldn’t make calls. They helped me patiently communicate with the store and it was very timely!
GGuest UserThe hotel is very convenient, right on the main street, and the owner is very helpful. The environment is good, the service is good, the sanitation is comfortable, very satisfied, will come again, recommend friends to stay in Dunedin.
MMoodyMerryThe hotel is very convenient as it's located in the central city, Every attraction and food outlet is approx 10 to 15 minutes walk which I don't mind. The hotel provides a breakfast buffet all day and dinner from 6pm to 9pm. The customer service is very professional and friendly! I got a king bedroom that also includes air conditioning which is very cosy. The bed is very comfortable, however am not really a fan with soft pillows.
They have plenty of amenities and facilities in the room, i love the experience and have a nice sunrise view in the morning. Would definitely recommend to family and friends to stay.
EEVGENIIThe hotel in North Dunedin was a perfect blend of convenience and comfort. The well-appointed rooms offered a cozy retreat, and the hotel's location near the local attractions made it an ideal choice for leisure travelers. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the stay. The hotel's proximity to restaurants and shops added to the overall convenience, making it a great base for exploring Dunedin.
Llesley matchettRoom was Awesome clean and tidy except for the noisy neighbour's and the Drain Pipe had a can at the bottom of it and dripped all night and kept us awake and some of the staffs uniforms needed a good press was just first impression
AAnonymous UserThe parking lot next to the hotel is not available. You have to pay 25+$ to let the hotel park for you. However, the breakfast in the hotel is pretty good. It is also close to citytown.
ZZongyouyangguang1970The hotel is full of old-fashioned Scottish style. The first floor is a bar, restaurant, and a casino. The front desk clerk is very funny. He often drinks and chats in the bar. He will come over if you need anything. The corridor and stairwell are full of old-fashioned style and very romantic. The room is not big, with old-fashioned doors and windows. There is free parking. It is in the city center, Bajiao Street, the old train station, and the oldest church are all within a 5-minute walk. There are two different national chain supermarkets, Countdown and New World, within a 10-minute walk.
