I planned to stay in Dunhuang for 3 days. I saw rave reviews about this hotel on Xiaohongshu, so I decisively made a reservation. After actually checking in, I had a great experience. The room and bathroom are very large. Although there is a road outside the window, the sound insulation is very good. It's better to hear no noise at all, and there are simple fitness equipment and a foot bath in the room, which is perfect for relaxing at night after running around during the day. The service attitude in the hotel is excellent, the cleaning is very clean, and the breakfast is very rich. The location is not far from Dunhuang Bookstore, and there is a supermarket and snack bar downstairs. The only drawback is that the car is not very smart when leaving the hotel parking lot (we rented a car for a self-driving trip), and the front desk needs to manually operate the lift lever. Sometimes the front desk may be busy with other things or does not see a car about to go out, and it will take several days to wait. Minutes before lifting the pole. We got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly. Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also. Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area. The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out. I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

This hotel is the best choice when you arrive in Dunhuang, beautiful view on the sand dunes and nice atmosphere, easy access to any sights. Check in was easy and fast, we arrived very early and could check in without extra charge. The breakfast is delicious and has lots of choices . The service is good, the junior stuff are very helpful and nice, however the senior manager didn’t give us the right information and the other one was arrogant and not helpful. Hopefully, this will be improved. We also had a private excursion with the driver Mike, was a nice trip, safe and interesting.
