I’ve stayed here three times now, but have decided not to stay again in the future. The majority of staff are really nice: I didn’t catch names but the blonde lady on reception on during the day 14th -15th May was great. What has drawn me to a negative review is the attitude of the lady working breakfast shift 15th and 16th May. Again, I didn’t catch names but was the only lady with short brown hair. I’ve witnessed her tell guests off before which is what irks me about her. On the Thursday 16th May, I had no breakfast booking in time, I wasn’t asked for one and I assumed okay to go down at 08:00 again on 16th May. I was met with hostility by this lady, with short brown hair, perhaps in her 50’s, who decided to give me a telling off for not reporting for breakfast at 07:00. I told her I would never book breakfast at 07:00, she looked me in the eye, slammed her finger down to 07:00 on her schedule and abruptly told me that this is the time they have me down for. Basically, she’s right and I’m wrong. It is not my fault that the hotel decided on an incorrect default time for breakfast for me. I refuse to be on the receiving end of her bad attitude ever again (I’ve seen it twice now in three stays). At over £150 a night I deserve a better greeting to start my day. I will select a different hotel next time.

Was disappointed in this Premier Inn, very old building and layout not ideal. Staff issues affected food service in the evening & breakfast, we booked a cooked breakfast but were advised on arrival that no hot food would be available on Saturday morning. Was advised that the charge would be adjusted to reflect this. On receipt of my invoice the amount taken from my account was higher. Tried to phone to sort it out & rang out, not ideal when owed money. Female staff member in the bar was rude and unhelpful. Male staff in bar & restaurant staff were polite & helpful but clearly under pressure due to staff issues. Expensive weekend for poor experience.

Premier Inn has really deteriorated, the mattress was extremely well used and uncomfortable, the decor was shabby and tired. No fridge/ phone/ safe. The maids service, despite requested was woefully inadequate. The bed wasn’t made, cups weren’t washed, bin wasn’t emptied, we managed a change of towels when we specifically asked for it. Stains on the unironed bedsheets. Attitude of staff was like it or lump it. The entire hotel needed to be redecorated and furniture/ bedding replaced. We stayed for 3 nights and never intend to return.

Stayed here for 4 nights, comfortable, clean and quiet, reception staff all very polite. Now on to the barmaid in the bar/restaurant Completely ignored us for 10 minutes while I was stood at the till waiting to be seated to eat in the restaurant on our first night and my wife stood at the bar waiting to be served being totally ignored even after I was shown our table . She was very rude and disrespectful. Needless to say We didn’t eat in the restaurant we left and ate elsewhere. On to the room it’s self as always comfortable bed and a great nights sleep, But we did have a blocked sink in the bathroom that we reported but it never got unblocked so for the 4 days we were there we had to use the bath taps for brushing our teeth. We also ran out of toilet paper on the second night which we also reported and asked for more which we never received also! Overall I don’t think I’d book again to stay at this particular site, very disappointing to be honest.

Booked for a day at the races, tried to arrange an early check in online as advised, emailed 3 times and got no reply. Turned up early anyway only to be told absolutely no chance unless you want me to ask the people in your allocated room to leave now. Came back around 730 to have dinner in the attached Lady Nairns restaurant, now there was only another 3 people in the restaurant,I asked if the fish was fresh or frozen to be told of course it’s fresh, but you guessed it was frozen & greasy. My brother in law only wanted chicken goujons with a side of corn, the waitress didn’t even know they sold corn as a side. All in all very poor from start to finish.Has put me off the brand.
