I have just returned from a 5 day Shearings coach holiday in Holland staying at the Hotel Mennorode in Elspeet. An interesting Hotel set in deep forest with no transport links to any local facilities. Hotel is set in deep forest approx 1 mile from local Village of Elspeet. No street lighting so not easy to walk to village at night. Whilst the food provided at the Hotel Mennorode was acceptable, particularly the breakfast, the dinner buffet was not portion controlled therefore they ran out of some food. Substitutes were offered but looked remarkably like the previous evenings meal. Be aware tap water is charged for! The Hotel bed room was cramped and whilst we had single occupation in a twin room there was no bedside shelf/table, no chair and having a sink in the bedroom was not helpful. Beds were very soft and pillows very soft too. Room was clean and daily housekeeping provided but no tea/coffee replenished. No cups only cardboard cups provided. No air conditioning in this Hotel either. The staff at our Hotel were very nice and could not be faulted.

Excellent hotel with very friendly people to the boss. Dick plus for helpfulness and remember when one of our friends had suffered an accident. Come back. Small comments: if you stay for several days, the menu card for the arrangement may be a bit more extensive for us. We will certainly come back once!

The hotel has a good service for staff (restaurant, balie), but also for the ”shoot” restaurant/cafe, which is just a little far away. The two beds were comfortable only slip the matraces from each other. When we watch a film on the bed (laptop), we always met the light buttons that were processed in the back wall, which made the light constantly turned. The restaurant has various types of seats (tables, banks and chairs), so everyone wants to have whatever. The kitchen is open to special wishes such as for people on a low-carbon diet, who do not use vegetable oil and may replace a vegetable garnish with a baked egg in our case. The sauna (reservation free) was very good only there was no watch to keep watch of the time and there was no possibility to take a warm footbath as indicated on the posters. Ideal hotel to spend a short shooting holiday.

The room was clean and comfortable, and some of the things that seem to be that there are signs of parts that need maintenance. This is how you see damage to doors and board plums, which have been painted, but it is not really, and was not disturbing for me. Staff is nice and attentive. Overall a great hotel in my opinion

The hotel was very quiet. Beautifully located in the forest, with the dog we walked into the forest without having to get the car first. We understand that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and found the Grand Café a very good alternative. We could have breakfast here and enjoy dinner 3-gangen. Some feedback is that we would have liked to prefer a room, the map in the Grand Café is limited (a beautiful citizen or a piece of frites would not miss) and the coffee facilities in the room were disturbed. If you offer coffee facilities in the room like Bilderberg, a water cooker with solvent coffee is a farce.

Stayed here last week in a twin bed room with my sister. Couldn’t fault a thing. It was very clean and tidy, the bathroom was clean and the shower was lovely and hot. We had a couple of meals which were very nice and the breakfast was as you would expect, some English and also continental and there was plenty of choice. Would certainly use this hotel again.
